It has been two weeks since Ted's death. It is now December and the Zbornak family, along with Dorothy, Rose, Sophia, Blanche, and the Doctor, have gathered for Ted's funeral. The body was embalmed, per Stan's request, and the casket was open. The funeral service was presided over by a pastor named Francis Jones. The people in attendance at the funeral prayed. Then came time for people to talk about their memories of the deceased. Sophia got up and said some, shall I say, unflattering things about the deceased.
"I remember Ted as being nothing more than the brother of a yutz," Sophia said in her speech, "In fact, he is one himself."
Dorothy was appalled. In fact, so was everyone else at the funeral service.
"Ma, one more derogatory speech out of you or else!" she said.
"Or else what?!" Sophia replied
"Or else, you'll get sent to Shady Pines," Dorothy replied.
For the rest of the service, the pastor played various songs that cannot be quoted due to copyright. Spoiler alert: there was not a dry eye in the room after those songs were played. After that was all said and done, it was time for the burial service, which was located at the girls' house. Before that though, everyone said their final goodbyes to Ted Zbornak. Pastor Jones read the relevant verses from his Bible and then the casket was lowered. Afterwards, the family gathered in the girls' house for a luncheon. They all took the time to discuss their favorite memories of Ted.
