"Riley, hurry up or you won't have time to eat your breakfast!" said Mom who was setting the breakfast table where Dad was sitting down and reading the newspaper.
"I'm right behind you," said Riley as she walked in.
"You better eat before Kate shows up, you two are in for a big day," said Dad.
"Yeah, I'm taking her skating for the first time then we're going to get some lunch before seeing a movie," said Riley before taking a bite of her eggs.
"Just make sure you two are back by dinner," said Mom while sitting down. They then heard knocking on the main door before it opened.
"Is anyone home?" asked Kate as she walked in.
"We're in the dining room," said Dad.
"Hey, are you ready to go?" asked Kate while walking over to Riley before giving her a kiss on the cheek.
"Give me just a second," said Riley while finishing up her breakfast.
"Would you like something to eat before you leave, Kate?" asked Mom.
"I'm good, I ate before I left home," said Kate with a smile. Meanwhile, in Riley's mind her emotions were watching everything that was going on.
"Are you sure today's date is alright?" asked Fear.
"Even Kate was excited for it so I think we'll be fine," said Love.
"Hey, Riley and Kate are leaving," said Sadness as she pointed at the monitor where she saw the girls heading out the front door.
"I hope you're ready to see me fall a lot, I've never even been on roller skates before yet alone ice skates," said Kate.
"Well if you do fall I'll help you back up," said Riley while taking hold of Kate's hand.
"And remember, you have to get back on the horse if you want to learn how to ride," she said.
"Never heard it said like that before," said Kate with a laugh.
