Legoshi pulls up to an abandoned amusement park.
As much as his greater judgment would normally tell him not to do this...this time he meant business.
As he made his way through the park he remembered rushing into the hospital room to see his own girlfriend heavily bandaged from the bullet wound in her stomach.
Haru and Gosha had sat down for tea and were casually discussing her and Legoshi's future.
When suddenly a knock at the door.
Just as she answered, she only had a second to recognize the feline eyes and gazelle horns in the door frame.
BANG
Legoshi heard a laugh coming from the park's funhouse.
As he made his way inside...he saw them.
There was Melon just standing there...waiting for him.
And the victim sitting next to them in a cage naked. Was his own grandfather.
He thinks for a minute and remembers what he wanted to say to the hybrid at the hospital before he learned of his escape
"I've been thinking lately about you and me...one of us is going to kill each other and I don't want your blood on my hands..."
Legoshi jumps on Melon ready to start this fight but he gets stabbed in the shoulder with a knife with Melon running away laughing.
He then turns to his grandpa in the cage.
Is he crazy? did he go mad?
no...
He tells Legoshi that Melon tried to make him go mad that he wanted to drive him crazy but he had failed...
Gosha was fine he did however say one important thing to Legoshi
"He won't win this...if you kill him there's no going back. Never Forget that."
Legoshi then corners Melon telling him that his plan had failed, that Gosha was as sane as he ever was.
The whole team the hybrid is laughing, laughing harder than he ever has before.
This is their lives. To go back and fourth fighting each other. One of them will die eventually.
Legoshi was right. This is an endless cycle...
Melon looks up at him and in a moment of sanity pleads with the wolf.
I terrorized your girlfriend and I tortured your grandfather...just kill me...end this...
But Legoshi looks down at him and says.
"No...I won't do it. Because I'm going to do this by the book. And because I don't want to."
The hybrid looks up at him...shocked.
Nothing about this plan has worked.
All he wanted was to bring the wolf down to his level.
But Legoshi was defiant to the end.
So he gets up and in the rain he looks at Legoshi and says.
"You know this reminds me of a joke..."
Legoshi listens.
"See, there were these two guys in the loony bin...and one night, they decide they don't like it here anymore. They decide they're going to escape! So, they get up onto the roof, and there, just across this narrow gap, they see the rooftops of the town, stretching away in the moon light... stretching away to freedom. Now, the first guy, he jumps right across with no problem. But his friend, his friend didn't dare make the leap. Y'see, he's afraid of falling. So then, the first guy has an idea...He says 'Hey! I have my flashlight with me! I'll shine it across the gap between the buildings. You can walk along the beam and join me!' But the second guy just shakes his head. He says 'What do you think I am? Crazy? You'd turn it off when I was half way across!"
And Legoshi chuckles
"Hehehe"
He actually laughs at Melon. And Melon laughs with him.
And the two Animals just stand there laughing.
Laughing as the night goes on around them.
