Why The Cullens Go To School
Bella's POV
I've always wondered why Edward still goes to school. After all he's been a vampire since the time of The Spanish Flu. Come to think of it all of the Cullens go to school still. I just don't understand. If you've already finished why would you want to continue. I also wonder why they all look so emaciated in the summer months. Like they go hunting in the summer for animals to eat. And high school is hell and yet all of the Cullens continue to go. My only question is why. I wonder all of these things as I go to sleep next to Edward.
I wake up in the middle of the night. I look over to see Edward not there. I panic, the window is open, the cold air wisping past. I grab my coat off the floor and pull it on over my pajamas. I slip my jeans on my legs quickly and slid my already tied sneakers onto my sockless feet and tip toe ran outside as not to wake my father. I reach outside and get into my pickup truck. I peel out of the driveway as quietly as possible, still fearful that something may have happened. I drive around looking for Edward's greenish-gray Volvo hatchback. I find it and the other Cullens cars outside the school 'What are they doing here' I thought as I got out of my car.
Alice's POV
I have a vision of Bella pulling up in front of the school in her car. "Guys, Bella's here!" I shout to the rest of my family. We all quickly run out to the front of the school and see Bella getting out of her car. "Good thing for your powers." my adoptive father whispered to me. I just nod.
Bella's POV
"What are you guys doing at school in the middle of the night?!" I half shout. I was angry that Edward left in the middle of the night. It made me worried that he might be cheating on me. "You didn't answer me, what are you doing at school with your entire family?" I repeat as I go closer. "I had a vision of the school pet Dr. Bojangles falling into an air vent and getting lost." Alice spoke up, "We all went to find him and when we found him we put him back in his terrarium." Edward finished his adoptive sister's sentence. "Okay well come on Edward, I want to go back home to bed, we have school tomorrow." Edward followed me back to my house and we went to bed or in Edwards case kinda just lay next to me.
The next day at school, Dr. Bojangles was back in his terrarium. I took my usual spot next to Edward in biology. He smiled at me as I took my books out of my backpack. Today we were dissecting frogs. In the middle of class one of the kids dropped their frog and the guts went everywhere. The teacher dismissed us after that because frankly he didn't care about class. Edward and I went our separate ways. I was going to math class when I had to go to the bathroom. I went into the nearest bathroom and saw Edward. He was taking trash out of the trashcan, "Edward..." I say nervously, "What are you doing. He turned his head to face me and I saw a string hanging out of his mouth. I instantly knew what he was doing. He was eating the used tampons from the school trashcans. That's what they were doing last night. "It's not what it looks like!" Edward exclaimed, the tampon almost falling out of his mouth. "Than what is it? Not eating a tampon out of the garbage?" I almost scream. I was furious. "Look, animal blood can't just sustain vampires so we have to find other sources of nutrients." he said as he held a used tampon that was saturated in blood. "Look Edward I'm not mad, just be honest with me in the future. Kay?" I saw inching towards him. "Always." he said before pulling me into a kiss. I didn't even care he had menstrual blood on his breath. It was the best damn kiss of my life.
