Chapter 2: The Blood Thickens
Edward's POV

Oh. My. God. I am soooo hungry. Bella interrupted our midnight dinner before I even got a nibble. I can barely focus on my school work. Today in Biology class we were dissecting frogs, so I decided to manipulate the mind of Jack Russell, he was known to be a very clumsy student. So I made him drop his frog guts, I knew the teacher would dismiss us because he doesn't really care at all about his job. I quickly pack my books and make a B-line for the girls bathroom to make sure no one was in them. 'What luck' I thought to myself, they were empty, usually during the day I have to wait until after school to get a snack. I quickly kneeled in front of the trashcan and open it up like a lunchbox. 'this day just keeps getting better and better' I think as I see the janitor hasn't emptied the trash today. I know that I'm really hungry, but I feel guilty, I know we're supposed to only eat at night and my siblings also didn't have any either so they're probably hungry as well but I just see such a juicy looking one, it was saturated in blood I just can't resist. I quickly it and put it in my mouth. I was immediately overwhelmed with flavor. I knew it was fresh because it was still a little warm. I decided to grab a few for my siblings because I know they wouldn't want to miss out. As I was enjoying my snack I heard the door open. I froze. 'Oh fuck' kept repeating in my mind as they stepped closer. "Edward…" I hear Bella's gentle voice behind me. I turn around quickly, the string fell out of my mouth. Damn, I hope she thinks that's a rat tail hanging out of my mouth.

"Hey" a familiar voice chirped behind me. I turn around and see Alice coming up behind me, "I heard you in the bathroom, was there anything good?" "Yeah." I said as I pulled little plastic bag out of my backpack. "Here." I say, giving her the bag, "Share them with the others, okay?" She took the bag almost giddily,"Thanks, Edward." she said as she skipped away. I turned around and saw Bella approaching me. "Hey, sailor." she said as we entwined our hands. I leaned down to give her a kiss. "Listen, about today…" I start as I walk her to her pickup truck. "Don't worry about it," she said before I could continue, "Vegetarians also need different sources of nutrients and protein, like tofu, completely understandable." she finished with a smile. She got in her car and we exchanged goodbyes, I felt better that she knew but she didn't care.

I was watching Bella sleep. I had been pondering asking her if I could, y'know, 'Get it fresh' if you know what I mean. I mean, I could eat them out of the trash but, as of late, the girls keep using scented ones, I mean, you can barely taste the blood over the overwhelming taste of 'summer breeze' and they give me a sour stomach. I just wish Bella wasn't so hormonal right now, I think she's PMS-ING. She's always talking about how when she was a kid, every time she went to McDonald's with her family she would get a Happy Meal. Maybe that could work.
