A Flower In The Rain
3
The Flowers were starting to come up nicely. Albeit being just little sprouts. Hana tended to the botanical care in between all of the hacking and weeding to clear the brush and trees. Progress was being made, little by little. There was a clear path now for foraging, a natural gift of Hana's. And she was making a little money from the items she placed in the shipping box. Mayor Lewis would gather around early morning and collect what was gathered, leaving a small compensation behind. She was settling in, and getting to know a few of the new faces that passed her by on the way to the Market. But they were still pretty fresh faces themselves...
"I've got a lot of work done here." said Hana as her eyes shifted to the motion of the sun over head, "Maybe I should take a break and stroll around town tonight..."
Hana was still as awkward as ever...but she was trying.
After tending to the garden for the day she wandered around Pelican Town. It wasn't a very big place...
It was more Scenic than anything.
Not a whole lot to do around here, huh?
She thought to herself.
...It's a small town...
So There really isn't expected to be much to do...
She paused short as a blur rolled by her, startling her.
A blonde gentleman was skateboarding by-
"Sorry about that!" he called back, "WOAH!" Immediately he hopped on an approaching Garden ledge and grinded across it as it hit his path and flipped forward. "Ow..." he groaned.
A light chuckling was heard from a gentleman in a black hoody. Hana jumped-
She didn't even see him there!
He came off as invisible as she was trying to be...with little luck.
"Wow, real support you are, Sebastion." the blonde sighed.
"Well...it serves you right for pulling something dumb." the boy responded back, brushing his fringe to the side as the blonde rolled his eyes and kick flipped his board into his arm before approaching them, "Better hope Mayor Lewis Doesn't catch you being a dumb ass..."
Noo don't come over here-!
Hana thought to herself
Great, he's coming over here...
"Hey...so you think you can do better then?" the blonde laughed.
"I'm just saying Sam, you shouldn't just roll on by random girls on the street." the gentlemen chuckled, "You practically almost killed her!" Hana huffed.
She really didn't want to deal with people...but she had no where to hide herself.
"Oh, lighten up!" Sam hissed back.
"Heh." Sebastion snickered and shifted his gaze toward her...
"Not very social, huh?" he questioned her, pulling a startled squeak fro her.
Well so much for being invisible...
"I feel your pain." he chuckled softly.
The ginger gave a half smile in gratitude before averting her gaze once again.
"I didn't actually hit you, did I?" asked he blonde, startling the girl just a slight before shaking her head softly, her ginger waves buncing along as she did so.
"No..I'm all right." she said softly.
"Ah good!" the goy grinned, "Well ...Hi!" the blonde laughed,"My name's Sam." he stated, "And over there is my buddy Sebastian."
"...Hey."
Personality wise, Hana and Sebastian seemed like birds of a feather...
"I just moved in to my grandpa's old place in the woods." said the girl, "My name is Hana..."
"Oh yeah? That old Cabin in the woods, huh?" Sam blinked.
"Cool." said Sebastian.
Sam rolled his eyes, seeming annoyed at Sebastian's lack of contribution to the conversation, with his one word replies.
"That's the one." said Hana, as she glanced at Sebastian's who'se responses were no longer than her own more or less...
It added another layer of Awkwardness to the conversation...
"So what are you up to around here?" asked Sam as he leaned back trying to carry the conversation further.
"Actually... I had just finished up my work for the day and was looking to take a breather." said Hana "What is there to do for fun around here?" she asked, anything to try to dip out of this conversation as soon as she could...
"It's a small town." said Sebastian, "There really isn't much of anything to do."
"...Huh. Funny." Hana blinked, "You know...I said pretty much the exact same thing...figured I would try asking anyway." she said softly, "I haven't been back here in a long time, so..."
"Well, you were right." Sebastian said curtly with a shrug.
"Oh stop it Sebastian!" Sam huffed, "That's not entirely true anyway." he stated, "The Saloon can be a pretty cool place to hang."
"...A Bar?" Hana said with a question in her tone.
"It's not just a bar!" said Sam, "They serve good food there too!" he stated, "There's a couple of arcade games, a vending machine, and a Pool Table." he stated, "In fact Sebastian and I play pool there all the time, you're welcome to join us tonight if you like-"
"What!?" Sebastian blinked.
"Come on, Seb!" said Sam, "Wouldn't you like a new challenge?"
The black haired male stared a while... silently. He shifted his dark eyed gaze to Hana. Then back to Sam. And he sighed.
"...I guess." he said.
"Great!" Sam beamed as he returned back to the girl before him, "What do you say? You up for the challenge?"
The ginger haired girl stared...in silence. She showed no immediate emotion. She glanced at Sam who smiled at her before shifting her eyes awkwardly around her. She was too far in now...it would seem rude if she didn't oblige...
"...Okay." she said softly.
Well...this was some mess she got herself into wasn't it?
Be that as it may...she was going to be here for a while...perhaps she ought to mingle with the locals anyway...
