A Flower In The Rain

The girl hid herself under her covers, in hopes of avoiding it all...
What did I go and do something like that for!?
She groaned to herself.
She still couldn't believe she even agreed to go...
Come on, we said we'd go right!?
Come to think...what would even be good to wear to a Saloon?
It's a farm town... surely no one would take offense if she don't dress like a run way model.
Dresses and skirts were really all Hana had...
Maybe I ought to think about investing in some pants too...
She thought to herself.
"Funny...now I don't think I'm feeling well-" she sighed.
But they had already agreed...
she thought to herself
"Well...let's just get this over with then..."
XXXXX
"Man...why can't I ever win!?" Sam huffed as he pondered his next strike on the billiards table.
"Should I show mercy and let Sam win for once...?" Sebastion wondered to himself out loud and chuckled, "Naaaah...Oh!" he blinked as the Hana rounded the corner into the room.
"Hey, you made it!" said Sam, "I was beginning to think you chickened out."
Hana blinked and shiftedher gaze.
Believe me...I wanted to...
She thought to herself with a sigh.
"Say, you any good at pool?" he asked her, "You can have next game but I warn you...I never win against Sebastian." he chuckled.
"I feel like you're trying to make me out to be the bad guy here..." Sebastian said with a soft chuckle, "Gonna throw the new girl to the shark, you coward?"
"Hmm...Pool player, huh?" Hana blinked as she leaned in close to the table and studied and leaned in close to read the table, "Is it your shot, Sam?" she asked.
"Huh!?" the blonde blinked, "Uh, yeah, why?"
"Bigs or smalls?"
"What?" Sam blinked.
"Solids or stripes, Sam." said Sebastian, "She's asking if you're solid or stripes..."
"Oh...uh...Stripes...why?"
"Bigs, then..." she said softly, holding out her hand for him.
"Hand me your stick...I think I can pull you out of this."
"What now? Tagging in!?" Sebastian blinked.
"Haha, what's the matter Seb!?" Sam grinned, "Unless you think she could take ya~"
"Hmph." the man scoffed, "Fine by me, go for it...I'd like to see this." he smirked.
"Hana...If you can pull a win for me here...I'l buy you a beer." grinned Sam, handing over his pool cue, "Good luck!"
"Well I can certainly try." she said softly, "At the very least...you won't lose so pathetically."
"PFFT!" Sebastian snickered.
"Ouch..." chuckled Sam.
But Hana was a lot sharper than most on games and details like this...Both biys were taken back by her sharp shooting...it wasn't long at all until she was even with Sebastian-
"It's just about Geometry..." said Hana.
"Yeah...you know I never passed that class." said Sam.
"Ha." said Sebastian.
A single Ha.
The ginger stared with icy blue eyes onto the table, studying the positions of the balls left in the game. Shot after shot she called on her turn, leaving Sebastian little to no room on the table to make his play-
"Holy shit!" Sam laughed, handig the girl a vistory beer. He did promise after all-
"I have never met someone who could take on Seastian!" the boy laughed, "You cleared his ass...from behind too!" said Sam, "You gotta show me your tricks, haha."
"Rack'em up." said Sebastian, "I want a new game scratched- test your skills from the ground up, you in?" he grinned.
The girl's eyes shifted upwards to meet Sebastian's... somewhere between the great game and the beers...she could feel herself relaxing...and see him becoming intrigued.
"Very well." she said softly with a chuckle, "But this time, you have to buy the beer."
"Deal!" Sebastian smirked.
"...Nice break." he mumbled, watcing the colors scatter, more than a few making for a fine spread. This time...Hana was Solids.
"...This might be a short game." said Sam with an awkward chuckle.
The game became quickly one sided. After multiple rounds Sam finally decided to call it quits in even trying to get another game in. Throwing back a few Joja Colas as he watched the two sharks leave their den. They were tied win for win and didn't dare show mercy. Honestly...it was a lot more fun to watch than to be the one getting his ass handed to him...
"Welp...looks like Sebastian finally got the challenge he was looking for." Sam chuckled.
"There's no way you can make that shot." said Sebastian. He sounded pretty sure he was going to win this time...
"Bet a beer, I can't she stated back."
"Fine." he said to her, "You make the shot...I'll buy you a beer."
"Heh..." Sam chuckled.
This is the most Sebastian has ever talked to anyone...
It was a long night...late in the evening when they finally decided to call it quits. The wind ran through Hana's hair and drew her eyes toward the trees, cooling her heated cheeks from the heat of the booze...
A bit more than she could handle, finding herself hunched over into the Trash can outside the Saloom.
"..Hey."
"Ahh!" Sebastian had startled her with a cold can of Joja on her neck as she turned quickly and took it despite his smug smirk.
"I know...the beer here tastes like shit." he chuckled, "That oughta get the taste out...and there's a bottled water too..."
"Hmm...Cheers, then..." she chuckled weakly
"You okay?" he asked her, "Seems like that hit you kinda hard..."
"Oh...uhm...yes, I'm good." she responded awkwardly as she took a long cold swallow. "It's getting late." she stated, "I should get going I think-"
"Yeah." said Sebastian, "So...uhm...today." he blinked, "That was...sort of cool I guess?"
"Hm..." she hummed softly, "Yeah...I suppose it didn't...totally suck." she chuckled, "...But you are right...the beer is awful."
"Haha." Sebastian chuckled, "...You play well." he stated, "Maybe we can... play again?"
Without a word...she gave him a side smile and a wave as she turned to catch "Hey uh wait-" he called out to her, "You good to go by yourself? I could walk you back if you'd like..."
"I'm not sure about that..." said Hana, "I still feel closer to flowers than I do to people..." she gave him a grateful smile, "But Thank you." she said softly waving.
"Riiiight..." Sebastian blinked, "...Maybe... another time, then."
