Mitsuki had only offered the young man a soft smile before taking his letter from him and sending it off with his instructions on how to get to his home town, directions and such. She'd wasted no time in it before she helped him get to his feet, he was still wobbly and weak from his run but it didn't look like he was as much pain as before nor did he seem as weak. The short rest seemed to have done him well.
Finally after a few more exchanges in paper, info and a small packages, Mitsuki led the younger male outside and walked him, slowly beyond the back gate, opposite from where he'd come running, and face to face with a deep red colored dragon. Izuku let out a loud gasp and widened his already big eyes to take in the full view of the magnificent creature hunched over in front of him.
"Th-that's a DRAGON!" He half yelled in excitement, but his body had frozen just outside the gate. That's a dragon! A dragon! He kept repeating over and over in his head before he swiftly pulled his book and magicked quill from his bag and started a new page, writing swiftly what he knew, however just as he was about to explain something about chin scales, Mitsuki walked over and gently pulled both items from his hand and gave him a soft pat.
"Now, now dear, there will be plenty of time to study this beauty once we get home, now come on.. no dallying. We have a lot of air to cover." Her voice wasn't angered only softly chiding as she replaced the items in his bag and softly moved the guy toward the dragon, whom still waited hunched.
"Her name is Duckie. She loves taking more than one person to the skies and she is a loving and gentle flyer. Best choice for your first ride. You next ride will most likely be with Duckie's hatching who is as hardheaded and unpredictable as my own son." She said as she pushed Izuku right up to her front leg.
"O-oh? I-I guess I should be grateful!" His voice was shaking as he spoke but he gently reach out to touch the dragon. His hand splayed over the hardened but somehow, soft to the touch in texture, almost like velvet, scales and ran his hand gently with the direction of them, careful not to do anything offensive, least he hoped. However, before long the dragon let out a soft huff, bent down taking the young man's vest in her teeth and carefully placed him in the saddle situated on her back.
"I bet you will spend a great deal in the stables or the flight halls…" Mumbled Mitsuki her form seeming to appear behind a reeling Izuku. The dragon lifted him! He was lifted by a dragon! His excitement and no small amount of fear, bubbled in his chest, but before he could process it fully or even let out a nerdy mumble, the dragon took to the skies.
The feeling Izuku felt as the air rushed passed his face, as the sound of beating wings filled his ears and as the soft sulfur scent filled his nose, was indescribable, it was like nothing he'd ever felt or expected to feel in all his life. The saddle he sat on seemed to conform perfectly to the dragon below him, molding to her frame and allowing the muscles under free movement. Suddenly the dragon dropped in flight, causing Izuku to squeak very loudly and cling to the woman in front of him, earning him a loud laugh.
"Relax kiddo, we will have lots of that, dragons can not create wind, the simply use it as a guide."
"R-right!" Izuku pressed out, pressing himself closer to her. Mostly out of fear, but he was also growing a bit cold, he did not have what she did to keep herself warm so he sought it out, in her cloak as it were. As he buries himself against her back, her cloak seemed to wrap around him, offering the warmth he sought, least for a while.
"Izuku, sweetie, why don't you try and sleep? Keep snuggled against me and rest." Offered Mitsuki, the motherly worry filling her voice again. Her eyes faced forward as they flew, watching as her dragon did. If Izuku could see her face he'd see the gentle glow from her eyes, it would match the glow from her dragon's, the two would be sharing sight, a skill only dragon riders knew and could use.
Izuku suddenly felt it, the exhaustion, the weight of the day and the effect of healing then running, he felt it all hit him like a ton of bricks. At her offer, he was out before he could formulate a response, his arms gripping the woman on instinct.
*Time Skip brought to you by the Space Pope and his reptilian hands, may we ever be blessed within his caring, raptor love*
The flight took around 6 hours to complete. Duckie flew as carefully as she could, knowing her mistress and friend would be very upset if anything happened to the young charge on her back. She flew as if her own child rode on her saddle, she even took the random bursts of harsh wind against her wings, with stride, even if it strained them. She loved and trusted Mitsuki and she could feel the care she felt for this boy as well, she couldn't help but feel the same.
At the sight of their mountain home, Duckie slowed her wings, preparing for the descent and landing. They'd made it with no problem of sight of the cursed creature. As she drew closer she could see that below them was the lush forest that surrounded her, their, home. Duckie set her eyes on a large flattened area positioned near the mouth of a very large cave, the depths of which were lit with large glowing stones. A welcome sight to be sure.
"Izuku, sweetie, time to wake up! You'll want to watch as we land!" Mitsuki said in an excited tone, shaking herself, hoping the boy would awaken quickly.
"Hmm? Land?" Izuku's groggy voice spoke up, his grip on Mitsuki slackening as he pulled from her to look around. His green eyes were glazed over with sleep, his hair was flat where he had pressed it against his motherly friend and he had a bit of dried drool on his cheek from his sleep. However, after a few seconds everything focused and he straightened hard. LANDING!?
"Landing?! We are here! OH!" He watched in fascination as Duckie's wings spread wide around them and felt her weight reposition, her hips pull forward and he felt in sheer awe as everything came to head with her clawed feet touched the smooth rock, her weight piling briefly on her thighs til her forelegs touched the ground. The movement was beautiful and smooth, he felt nothing of force of it.
"Ah, there we go! Wasn't that wonderful Izuku? Isn't Duckie just the most beautiful creature you've ever seen?" Cooed Mitsuki, her hands patting the neck of her friend. The sounds the dragon began to make, reminded Izuku of a might, might, larger version of his mother's cat. Duckie purred loud and in bliss, or what Izuku assumed was bliss. He watched and focused on the action and sound so much he did not notice a group of tribesmen appear next to Duckie and them.
"Oi, Hag. Who the fuck is that?" A gruff voice asked almost yelling. His own red eyes seemed to be swirling with an unknown rage at the very sight of the green haired man siding behind his mother. His manner of dress was very similar to his mother's, his pants were dyed a darker teal, a matching half vest with long orange sleeves dawned his arms and a bright red cloak with white fluffy fur trailed behind him slightly.
"Show some respect you little shit!" Red eyes clashed with similar red eyes as they both shot glare at each other. Very clearly mother and son, there was no way to think other wise. After a few seconds, the son looked away with a tch sound and focused his glare upon the green haired man, however at the sight of those bright emerald eyes shining with so much wonder and excitement, the son's breath hitched and he quickly dropped his gaze to his feet.
"O-oh! Mitsuki that must be your-" At hearing the man's voice the loud mouth's head shot up and he growled. His crimson eyes locking fully onto the greenette, eyes now filled with anger. How dare he address his mother by her name!
"Katsuki, shut that mouth and listen. This." She gestured to the man behind her. "Is Izuku Midoriya, he is a witness to All For One's destruction, as early as last night." She looked back at him now, her eyes softening. "In fact he ran from the village to the next in such a short time that he exhausted himself." Mitsuki swung her legs to start getting off the saddle and her friend. "So like I said show some respect."
Katsuki scowled at his mother and Izuku, his eyes narrowing again, between the two. His anger rising with each word, why should he care? Why should he, the Prince, show any respect to what was clearly a peasant man. "Why the fuck should I care or respect someone so far under me he might as well be a rock worm?" He yelled, near screamed.
SLAP
An even louder sound filled the air around them. Some how, without Katsuki or anyone else noticing the greenette had gotten from Duckie's back, to Katsuki and raised his hand to the much taller male. Izuku wasn't one to typically act on such impulse but he just couldn't stand how this guy was speaking to his mother, he was raised to be gentle, kind and respectful to the one who birthed him and the fact this male was so blatantly disrespectful, sent him into anger, despite his pain and weakness.
Two sets of shocked crimson eyes locked onto Izuku's frame, while a taller, seemingly gentler male and his fellow tribesmen seemed to stunned to do anything either, all stood stock still, all watching the green-haired male lower his hand and sigh.
"S-sorry but you shouldn't talk to your mother like that. I don't care your reasons. A son should never speak to his mother like that."
