Days Later
"These mugs are so cute and the menu is what keeps me coming back. And maybe the company too." Brooke said. As she sat down across from him at Karen's.
Once they put in their breakfast orders. Lucas looked to her.
"All it takes to end this marriage is a matter of signing paperwork and having it be approved then dissolved." Lucas explained.
The smile on Brooke's face softened. Then faded.
"I have to admit. I thought all this was just talk." Brooke replied.
"Its not. I have a girlfriend. Named Lindsey." Lucas said.
"Are you in love with her.?" Brooke asked.
Lucas's eyes went wide.
The waiter then brought over their meals and drinks.
Lucas took a quick sip from his mug.
"You're taste hasn't changed." Brooke said. Gazing at the plate of french toast in front of him.
"Feel free to take you're time answering my question." Brooke added in.
"Lindsey is my girlfriend. We're living together. What else is there to say.?" Lucas replied.
"That you're in love with her and want to spend you're life with her. Unless she's a rebound and you aren't willing to admit it." Brooke replied.
"What you and I had once was teenage love. First love. It was never meant to last." Lucas proclaimed.
"Is that why you can't look me in the eye? Why you're avoiding answering whether or not you're in love.?"
"You're in denial and i hope sooner rather then later."
"You're honest with yourself. And anyone else who needs to know the truth." Brooke proclaimed.
"Why are saying this.? What we had is over. Let me go."
"I already have let you go." Lucas stated matter of fact.

As the sun started to set for the day. Brooke took a deep breath.
Entering the home her and Peyton shared.
She had enjoyed working at the store. And was dreading this conversation. But knew she couldn't avoid it.
"I was thinking take out and a movie marathon. What do you think.?" Peyton asked. As she entered the entryway.
"I love him Peyton. I'm in love with him." Brooke confessed.
Peyton's eyes went wide. She narrowed her gaze at Brooke.
She knew who Brooke was talking about.
"I let him go because you told me you had feelings for him." Brooke said.
"I never stopped loving him. I did what was right and expected."
"I buried and locked away my feelings."
"I don't want to lose you. But i can't deny it either." Brooke proclaimed.
"How desperate and pathetic are you.?"
"He broke you're heart twice and here you are ready and willing to have it happen again. This friendship is over." Peyton announced.
As she left the entryway and went into her bedroom to start gathering her things.
