Caught Up
Chapter 7
Authors note : Lucas and Brooke were drunk when they got married so the cermony wasnt memorable and they didn't do anything else but fall asleep afterwards. So there was no romantic time together.
If i could do it all again. I'd go back to you.
Everybody knows we got unfinished business.
You could break my heart in two. And still it beats for you.
"You came to town for this. You have you're own life going on."
"You didn't have to do that. But i've missed you." Lucas proclaimed.
"I've missed you more son." Karen said. Pulling him into a hug.
Lucas hugged her back. He knew she was happy and living the life she should be yet he missed having her in town.
Things made sense when she was here.
"We're at the River Walk. Talk to me my boy."
"You and Brooke being married. I saw this coming."
"You and Peyton made better friends then being romatically involved. Plus she was always meant for a life outside of Tree Hill."
"While i could always picture you and her settling down here. At home." Karen explained.
"I never knew you imagined me and Brooke ending up together." Lucas replied.
"It shouldn't come as a surprise. I realized soon enough that Brooke was all heart and loyalty. She's the daughter i never had." Karen explained.
...
Lucas found himself at the beach. Wanting and needing to clear his head. He knew what the papers said yet he just couldn't sign them. Why was he having this hesitation.?When he made it clear he wanted to end the marriage?
"Somehow we always find each other in the same places. Or maybe this town has gotten alot smaller."
"Us living apart is silly and will not work long term."
"The only way to see if this whole arrangement can work is if you move in with me. Peyton's moving out which leaves a room for you to stay in."
"You need to inform Lindsey about what's going on here and what you want because it isn't fair to her yourself or me."
"You are lying if you say you have no feelings for me."
"I'm denying it any longer. I love you. I want you." Brooke confessed.
"But i don't feel anything for you besides pity. You're clinging to what used to be and what will happen again." Lucas stated matter of fact.
