Caught Up
Chapter 8
Authors note : Thank you more to come.
"Imagine a future moment in your life where all your dreams come true, you know? It's the greatest moment of your life and you get to experience it with one person. Who's standing next to you?"
Brooke's face fell. She couldn't even attempt to shield the hurt she felt. And for the first time she wondered if Victoria was right. Lucas would never choose her. Love her. Not with same way she felt for him.
"Send me my copy of the papers. Goodbye Lucas." Brooke replied. Before leaving the beach.
Lucas thought he would feel relief. She was letting him go. Stopping this fight for a union that should of never happened. Yet he stood there. Looking out at the sky and water.
Wanting to take it all back. He had wanted to hurt her and push her away. Lindsey was safe. They didn't share a past.
Peyton had been a rebound. He knew by the time their relationship ended. It was a mistake. They were meant to friends. Probably strangers now.
With Brooke it was love passion turmoil. Friendship.
His heart was hers. He knew that a long time ago. But admitting that. Letting Brooke back in. Confessing he wanted to try and stay married.
...
He eventually made it back home. Taken off guard by the sight of Lindsey on his porch with her bags packed.
"Where are you going.? What is going on?" Lucas asked.
Lindsey stared up at him. "You came back here for Brooke."
"This book was a alternate reality. How everything changed once you met her. I didn't see it. God Lucas you even mentioned her in you're dedication."
"Unless. I'm wrong and this book and those hidden keepsakes in you're closet mean nothing.?" Lindsey questioned.
...
"Peyton you can't just leave town." A voice said.
"I can and i am. There is no reason for me to stay here." Peyton replied.
She loved Nathan and Haley. Skills. Mouth but Tree Hill had been filled with so many bad memories she understood why her father never returned. She didn't belong here. And once she packed up her car she left.
Seeing the you are leaving Tree Hill sign in her front mirror.
"Looks like i've shown up right on time." A voice said.
Brooke smiled engulfing Rachel into a hug. As she opened the door to her home.
...
"You should go. I'm sorry Lindsey." Lucas confessed.
"Just don't wait 17 years to say something. Ego. Pride. Its all a waste of a time. If she's it. Then don't end up with regret." Lindsey replied. Before putting her stuff away then leaving.
