Caught Up
Chapter 9
Days ache and nights are grey
My heart is still your place babe
Guess I still feel the same.
Some scars you can't erase babe.
Brooke poured herself and Rachel another glass of wine.
She listened closely to Rachel's stories. She's been doing her far share of traveling since high school ended. Her career as a model is thriving.
"What are you up too.?" Rachel asked.
"Besides my line and reconnecting with my much." Brooke replied.
"I was trying not pry. I heard and saw that you and Lucas got married."
"How are the nelyweds adjusting to married life.?" Rachel questioned.
"We aren't. Lucas wants to end it and so do i."
"I was foolish. Naive. Hopeful for reasons that don't make sense with reality."
"I feel what i do and i have to find my own way to move on and let Lucas go." Brooke replied.
Before Rachel could respond. There was a knocking at the front door. Which caused Brooke to get up and leave the living room.
She went into her entryway and opened the door slowly.
Lucas's gaze locked on her. In his hands he had a box.
"I've kept this box of memories. From our relationship."
"It wasn't all bad. Actually alot of it was amazing. It changed me for the better. I know I let you down and hurt you more then you ever deserved. I fought for you back then but looking back on it."
"I couldn't let what i thought i was supposed to have with Peyton go. What i told you that night in the rain. Why you over her."
"I meant what i said. And i meant what i told her."
"You're the one i want standing next to me. You have my heart."
"My soul. Everything i have. Am and will ever be. Is yours."
"If you're willing and open to give me another chance. To make this a real marriage."
"I love you Brooke. I am in love with you. That hasn't changed with the distance and time apart. You're the one for me." Lucas confessed.
Brooke felt a rush of emotion come over her.
Rachel quietly snuck out of Brooke's kitchen backdoor. Being so distracted neither Brooke or Lucas even noticed.
"I've thought this over. I've been so focused on my own feelings. I can't and won't let you turn me into a rebound."
"But i'm unable to fight or turn off my feelings for you. I'm scared of what this could lead too."
"I want it more then i've wanted anything. I don't know what to do about this." Brooke confessed.
Lucas reached out his hands to her. He was surprised when she took them.
Their eyes locked on each other. "Let me love you. Date you. Then we can see where things go." Lucas proclaimed.
"I can't believe you kept all that stuff. Let's try." Brooke replied.
He was all in with Brooke and she was giving him another chance.
Nothing would get in the way this time.
