Caught Up
Chapter 12
Authors Note : Pregnant hormonal Brooke should be interesting and fun. Brucas parenthood journey begins.
All that you ever wanted from me was sweet nothing
Everyone's up to something
And the voices that implore, "You should be doing more"
To you, I can admit that I'm just too soft for all of it.
Lucas looked to her. The expression on his face softened.
He took her in his arms. Kissing her gently.
He lead her out of the office and into the living room.
Brooke then explained that for the past few days she's been feeling off. Sensitive to smells. Sick in the morning. She wanted to take the test alone in case it was a cold or flue.
But she brought a test with her to the store and took it. Just when she was about to start her break. When the test came up positive she closed her store got into her car and ended up back home.
"We're going to be parents. Can you believe it.?" Brooke asked.
"This is incredible. Amazing. I'm happy more then i thought possible. Mom and dad." Lucas said.
Brooke got up from where she was seated. She sat down on his lap.
Smiling up at him. "So what do you think.? Boy or girl?" Brooke asked.
"Doesn't matter. As long as we have a healthy baby. I'll be overjoyed." Lucas replied.
"Since you came right over without lunch. Let's feed you. I want you nice and full. You're eating for two now." Lucas added in.
Brooke laughed. Placing his hand on her stomach.
Lucas leaned over kissing her again.
"My family." Lucas said softly.

Days Later
By her side Lucas stood. As Brooke was laid out on the exam table.
"You are exactly 8 weeks along. The baby is the size of a raspberry."
Brooke's OBGYN then started to list the expected symptoms at this stage.
The couple agreed at once to hear the heartbeat. And it was then that. Emotion filled the room.
From both Brooke and Lucas. Tears falling from Brooke's eyes.
Tears welling up in Lucas's. The heartbeat was strong.
He would be there every step of the way for Brooke.
As confident and secure as she was. He knew her.
She had never been in a more vunerable place.
"I won't let down either of you. I love you both so much." Lucas whispered into her ear.

The couple left the appointment with ultrasounds. A joy and peace that they had never experienced. They were going to be a family.
