Caught Up
Chapter 14
I've loved you since i was 16. That hasn't changed.
My brain never stops. Am i afraid to go. Afraid to stay.?
"I might as well move in there at this point." Brooke announced. As she re entered their bedroom.
"A few more weeks and these symptoms will ease up."
"In the mean time. I get to spoil and take care of you. As much as possible." Lucas replied.
"I think i need to just tell Victoria. Get it out of the way."
"As the pregnancy progresses. Work isn't going to be a priority for me. Only you and the baby will be."
"I want this to be right. For things to be perfect for baby Scott." Brooke said.
"We'll do the best we can. Love. Support. We know what it feels like to be unwanted. We'll do the opposite of that." Lucas proclaimed.
"You're mom is staying town that's the best news. You are going to love you're grandma Karen." Brooke said. Putting a hand on her stomach.
"Haley is so excited for us and Rachel will be happy to baby sit. When the baby is older."
"I'm sure having the support from you're guys makes this so much more real. I'm glad you have them." Brooke added in.
And as much as she didn't want to. Her mind went to Peyton.
They had talked about raising their kids together. Being there to love and spoil. Instead her and Peyton weren't in contact and she wasn't even sure where Peyton was.
"Take it easy on you're mom kiddo. I love you." Lucas said.
Brooke leaned over and kissed him. "We love you too." She replied.
She watched him leave their bedroom. And head downstairs.
He was off to the office. And didn't want to be late. He had handed over a rough draft for a new novel and was meeting with editor.
To talk about it.
She needed to leave the house. Even if she didn't plan on going to her store anytime soon.
Brooke got into her car and drove over to her childhood home.
It was frozen in town. She didn't care for that.
It was a house not a home. It wasn't filled with warm memories. Holidays and birthdays. She spent alot of time there on her own. At least she did before she met Peyton and found someone to share in her burden of lonley.
"Miss Davis." An older woman said.
"Hi. Is Victoria around.? I wanted to talk to her." Brooke asked.
"She's inside. Her office. You know the way." The older woman said.
Brooke nodded her head and came inside.
The red door closing behind her. Her parents had a staff to clean. A person to cook and take care of the pool and the yard.
She didn't know them by name. No one ever stayed around for it to matter.
"What are you doing here.?" Ted asked.
"I came to talk to Victoria." Brooke replied.
"What about.? I thought the two of you only discussed work." Ted questioned.
Brooke sighed deeply. "I'm married now. Me and Lucas are having a baby." She announced. Looking to her father.
"Well that explains why you look thicker then when i saw you last."
"Make this talk with her quick. Vickie is busy." Ted proclaimed. Before leaving the home.
"Brooke Penelope. Time is money." Victoria said. Exiting her office.
"I just wanted to let you know. I'm going to be taking a step back from the company for some time in the next few months."
"I'm having a baby. Me and Lucas. This is life changing joy filled news for us." Brooke explained.
"Its Clothes over bros and babies for that matter."
"Brooke this pregnancy was an impulsive stupid decision."
"Tell me that you want me to make this go away for you and i will."
"You have too much to lose to let a child derail this success." Victoria said.
