a/n:(hey guys, before i was going to write fanfiction i tried to become a what if author, but i didnt like how any of my recordings came out. then the naruto what if scene became over run by people stealing fanfics with ai voices. this is one of the only scripts i didn't delete. the reason im posting this is beacuse my touhou crossover that i was going to be posting along side of kitsune of the leaf is going slower then expected, so i wanted to post something as to keep the bi monthly release schedule i wanted. this made in like 2017 iirc. In this what if I am going to make Minito be born as an Uzumaki. He was brought to the leaf village as an infant and grew up with the leaf as one of its villagers. Because Minato grew up in the Village first, kushina was more accepted when she was brought into the village. She was still bullied a little bit when she made a declaration of becoming hokage, however most of the bullying stopped when minato questioned: "why are you making fun of her hair? I have the same hair color. are you making fun of me behind my back?" This also made kushina like Minato At a younger age because he was the reason she was accepted into the village. Later on when kushina was kidnapped by the hidden cloud ninja, two of them dispatched from the main group to try and capture Minato as well. Because he was with his parents the ninjas were immediately defeated and he went on to rescue her. Minato still became a legendary ninja being known as the scarlet flash instead of the yellow flash. With his uzumaki chakra pool and chains he was more lethal and more famous than in cannon. Like in the original series he was instrumental in ending the third great ninja war and his service led to become hokage passing over Orochimaru and Fugaku uchia. Obito's attack on the leaf village remains mostly the same, until Minato seals the nine tailed fox in Naruto. Instead of kushina using her chains to trap the nine tailed fox and create a barrier around him, it's both of them combined. Because of the combined chakra chains, the nine tailed fox cannot even move enough to strike at Naruto like in the original. Minato then preforms the reaper death seal. I believe since Naruto survived having the Ninetails extracted by having Minato place his half of the Ninetails in side of him, Kushina could have survived if the nine tails was split between her and Naruto, (and if she wasn't impaled on the NTF Claw) so that's what I'm going to have happen here. Minato says he wants her to live to teach Naruto how to be a jinchuroki and to help prepare him for the fight against the masked man. He states that the masked man claimed to be madara uchia, and if that's true the village let alone the world cannot risk him obtaining the nine tail fox. And that Naruto would need its power in order to defeat him. Because of the extra time he has with the kyubi double bound on uzumaki chains and because he doesn't have a giant claw in his chest Minato has the ability to choose where each half of the nine tailed fox goes. He gives Kushina the more agreeable yin half of the nine tailed fox to help heal her as the seals are complete, the barriers Around the area drop. Immediately after his barrier dropped the 3rd hokage ran to Minato who spoke his final words "take care of my son and save my wife." Huruzin took immediate action, taking naruto under his care and getting kushina medical help.
Kushina underwent a medical operation similar to the one that neji had at the end of the sasuke retrieval arc but instead of a 24 hour surgery it was a 32 hour surgery led by orochimaru. it was a lengthy process but she makes a full recovery. After her recovery she tells the villager elders what happened: a masked man claiming to be madara uchia attacked the village. The elders are in shock. The prowess he had in controlling the nine tailed fox, and his power seemed to point towards him being madara, But if he were alive he'd be over 100. Even then didn't he DIE fighting against the first hokage? Fugaku is brought asked as the head of the uchia clan to see if he knows anyway that madara could have survived this long. After hearing Kushina's story about the masked man Fugaku pauses "they are so many stories about madara it's hard to separate fact from legend, how ever you mentioning him wearing mask with one eyehole, reminds me of the myth of izanagi, A power where you can sacrifice one of your sharaingan in order to rewrite reality to cheat death. I have no doubt that madara would be of capable of this power. Fugaku looks visibly nervous "if madara returns it does not bode well for the village nor the clan, as he abandoned both, I have no doubt he would have targeted us specifically to ensure no one could rise up and challenge him and his goals." Everyone agrees that madara would bide this time and not make any sudden moves and they should use this time to prepare for when he will strike again. In the coming weeks after fugaku met with the elders, Danzo pushed for many changes within the leaf village. First he made it so that the uchia police force be partnered with the anbu as the defense forces around konoha and the the uchia clan be monitored. The uchia clan isn't persecuted as harshly as in cannon because "madara" is known as the cause behind the nine tailed foxes attack, the uchia aren't seen as primary suspects however as there could be madara sympathizers in the clan they were monitored.
Next he argued that with madara's return the village needed a leader who was willing to take more aggressive actions , pushing for orochimaru to be hokage again. Huruzin vehemently disagrees stating that he's under investigation for the disappearance of villagers. Danzo counters saying he hasn't been convicted of anything yet and should not be treated as a criminal until he is proven guilty. later danzo gets jaria (as he doesn't know about orochimaru's actions) to help convince Huruzin to allow orochimaru to be hokage. Huruzin sighs he knows he's fighting a losing battle, and he has to use his last bit of leverage as he is the active hokage at the moment. He states" I am not ready to give up my position as the third hokage just yet. I intend to leave my position when our village is to next hold the chunin exams."
"Roughly around the same time kushina's child should be entering." Danzo thinks outloud.
"Yes" Huruzin continues "I intend to assign Naruto his team and watch over his growth for a short while before I relinquish my work. In the event orochimaru is found innocent, he will be allowed to run for hokage. But know this, the diamo has already decided in his own mind that Jaraiya will be the next hokage, even if he doesn't want to, and that his mind will not be changed just by saying madara may possibly be alive. You all know the only way his mind will be changed now is if I give orochimaru my blessing and in order for that to happen he must meet my 3 demands:"
1: he must gain the approval of at least 3 of the four great clan heads.
2: he must build his own kage guard from people willing to serve under him.
3 : he must serve as the head of our medical research department for a tenure of at least 5 years to benefit our village."
Danzo agrees to these terms and leaves to discuss them with orochimaru. Danzo states "Huruzen is trying to stall until he can convince jaraiya to become hokage. That's why he wants you to lead the research department for 5 years." Orochimaru chuckles "it doesn't matter, jaraiya is a stubborn man he won't budge on not becoming hokage as long as he has faith in me."
Danzo stares coldly "huruzen is is investigating the projects I had you do but has not found anything yet. I will cover your tracks in the village and throw him off our trail however, in order to do so I need you to leave the village for a while about three years."
Orochimaru responses "very well I will, however I don't want to leave immediately as it will cause suspicion, I will wait two weeks and then undertake a mission for you. Using this as a guise I should be able to not only leave the village long enough to clear my name but also find some loyal followers to complete my kage guard. Fair enough?" Danzo agreed. Using his two weeks Orochimaru cleans out his leaf village hideout of the evidence that even Danzo would say is going to far, mostly The experiments on immortality, leaving the rest to him.
He also secretly arranged a meeting with the head of the uchia clan, fugaku. "despite having no involvement with the nine tailed fox's attack on the village, your clan is still persecuted, this is because of the will of lord Danzo. he intended to and still intends to push the persecution father." Fugaku is not shocked at this New information but he does make a grim face knowing his clan faced persecution from the top level of the village. Orochimaru smiles "but fear not lord third truly believes in your innocence, and works in your defense. I also believe in your innocence and want to help you."
Fugaku is shocked by this. "I'm surprised that I have both friends and enemies in such high places but, why help us? Why now?" Orochimaru smiles "I wish I could say my motives are entirely pure but they aren't. I too have been slighted by Danzo." Fugaku raises an eyebrow to this. Orochimaru explains mixing truth and lie "as many know I am a medical expert, Danzo had scouted me for my skill in the field to work for him. I assumed I was going to be working in protection of the village, but instead I was forced to do horrible experiments for Danzo to increase his own power. He made me his pawn in his struggle with huruzen."
Fugaku nodded. " I can see why you have a bone to pick with him, but where does my clan come in?"
"I intend to get rid of Danzo when I became hokage, but someone has to lead the root organization, I thought perhaps you would be interested in getting this position?" Orochimaru replies
Fugaku squints "this is too good to be true, what is the price for all of this?"
Orochimaru smurks "you are a wise man, fugaku but there is no reason to be wary. Since Danzo forced me to work under him lord third has lost some trust in me and has put conditions on his support for my bid to become hokage. I simply require your help in fulfilling his demands." The two of Them converse for a while, coming to an agreement Fugaku will Write a written note of support for orochimaru's bid for hokage as well as give him one talented uchia for his kage guard and orochimaru will stop the persecution for the uchia clan as well as give fugaku control over root.
Before orochimaru leaves fugaku asks one last question. "What kind of experiments did Danzo make you do?" Orochimaru put on his best sad face. "Horrible things, experiments with cursed seals, experiments to fuse the cells of kekkei genkai users with non users. Cells of people like the first hokage."
Fugaku is stunned at what he was told. "We should get rid of him before you enter office."
"If I could have I would have already done so." Orochimaru responded "and with the anbu many of which are part of root no doubt there isn't much you can do right now either. However if an opportunity to get rid of Danzo before I become hokage arises I will definitely act on it. I may not always be able to contact you myself but I will talk to you through my liaison Kabato." Fugaku agrees to this and the two shake hands and orochimaru disappears as if he were never there to begin with.
The next day Orochimaru leaves the village as Danzo immediately orders a team of root ninja to cover up the work orochimaru did, unaware of the conspiracy against him. While he interferes from the shadows impeding huruzens investagation. Orochimaru offered up some of his loyal servants to help Danzo clean up his mess which he accepts believing that orochimaru is merely helping him. However while they help cover up orochimaru's deeds they also are secretly collecting and doctoring evidence they found so it looks like Danzo forced orochimaru to do these experiments. Meanwhile orochimaru was traveling around to his other hideouts collecting his research, and scouting for ninja to be part of his kage guard. Orochimaru makes a point to meet with shin uchia. He helps shin further his cloning research in exchange for his help with something later on. Between helping shin he travels to various nations where he has hideouts. During his second year traveling He happens upon the kaygua clan rebellion, where he discovers kimimaru. Impressed with the five year old boy's skill and keikkei genkai, Orochimaru takes the last kagyua clan member under his wing. He continues to help shin while also training kimimaru. Over the course of the final year he was was out of the leaf, he collected the other members of the sound five. (I'm making the sound five a year older then in cannon, so orochimaru could find them all in the time he was out of the leaf village.) Since he already has the deal with fugaku he knows he has an uchia waiting back at the leaf, he has jorobo stay behind at one of the hideouts for a different task.
Before orochimaru started his journey to return to the leaf village, he went to spy on the cloud village. This was a part of the cover mission Danzo had him do, as they were at war. Infiltrating the village masquerading as an intelligence officer, he was able to Sneak his way into a meeting about the war with the raikage himself. He plans to kidnap a main branch hyuga clan member (that we know is hinata) during the upcoming peace negotiations. Unlike the main cannon they also had a second target: naruto uzumaki. (In the original canon Naruto was given the uzumaki name to hide that his father was the fourth hokage so he wouldn't be targeted by the fourth hokage's enemys. But since naruto has two uzumaki parents that can't really happen.) after orochimaru leaves the the cloud village he immediately relays the information about the kidnapping plan to Danzo and Fugaku, having it arrive before he returns home. He leaves out the part about them planning to kidnap naruto, so he can save the child himself and gain favor with the villagers especially the clan heads. When orochimaru returns to the village he introduces the four ninja to huruzen. "These are my students. I intend to raise them into my personal guard." Huruzen responded "if you want to raise your own ninja that is fine by me but if they do not reach the qualifications to be guardsmen then they will not be accepted" orochimaru shrugged "I would not assume otherwise." Since the peace treaty was in 3 days He took the time to meet his new uchia student a young girl named Hikari uchia. She was the same age as Kimimaru and just as skilled. They were trained rigorously for two whole days then allowed to rest the day of the peace treaty. True to the information Orochimaru sent, the head ninja of Kumo tried to kidnap Hinata, however unlike in cannon this was anticipated. When the kidnapper ran out of the Hyugga mansion he ran right into Fugaku's gaze trapping him in a genjitsu. Meanwhile two Anbu tried to grab naruto but were killed by Orochimaru. When questioned about how he knew this orochimaru lied " I had left a snake summon to spy on Kumo after I had left. It appeared to me this morning with the information saying they had a special target to be captured along with the Hyuga princess. My snake couldn't confirm the target but I had assumed it was going to be Naruto as his father humiliated the Raikage in the 3rd great ninja war. But I had no way of confirming, and I didn't want to cause unnecessary panic with information that could be false." Because he saved the former hokage's child, orochimaru had become very popular amongst the village and had the recommendations of all great clan heads. Meanwhile Because the Raikage and the cloud village were Caught in their attempt to kidnap the children The peace treaty was slanted more heavily in the leafs favor with the cloud paying for all damages caused during the war. Leading them to become more despot.
After the peace treaty fiasco, Orochimaru hears rumors of a young boy who underwent great fits of violence where he becomes another person and gained immense power. This boy is Jugo. Orochimaru sent out Kimimaru to find and capture this boy for research. Their meeting goes the same as in cannon, Orochimaru takes the boy to a secluded research facility outside but near the leaf where he can examine him more closely. Through his research into Jugo Orochimaru found Ruji cave. He attempted to learn sage mode but his body couldn't take it. So he started developing the cursed seal. Using shadow clones and reverse summonings he is able to teleport between his hideouts and the leaf village so he can work on his projects in secret while publicly training his new guard, now called the leaf 5 and leading the medical research devision. Orochimaru finishes developing his curse mark, testing it out on anko. Because she refused to use it he lost interest in her. From there he started created multiple variants of the original one. This process took three years. After completing the curse mark Orochimaru calls in shin to return the favor of helping him. Orochimaru has Shin take Jirobo (who was recently given a curse mark) to kidnap the diymao and two members of the fire council. The two disguise them selves as bandits and kidnap their targets holding them for ransom. While holding the council members and orochimaru hostage Shin uses his Sharaingan genjitisu to hypnotize the them into believing orochimaru is the best choice for next Hokage. Soon after Orochimaru along with two Anbu (Itachi and Kakashi) Jirobo transforms into his curse mark stage 2 and fights Kakashi and Itachi. Meanwhile Orochimaru fights shin. During their fight Jirobo is killed and shin escapes, but takes notice of the young Uchiha. Orochimaru takes Jirobos body to investigate the "strange transformation" that he used. Orochimaru "reverse engineers" the curse mark but says he cannot find the origins of it.
Danzo accesses the medical records of the curse mark taking the information for himself. His own research team is able to create a curse mark with power similar the sound four marks in cannon. Although he had expanded the power of the root ninja and Orochimaru is on track to becoming the next Hokage like he wanted, Danzo was still uneasy. He didn't like the brazen actions of the cloud village, and he didn't like the fact that the Uchiha were not under stricter regulation. But what got him the most was the situation with the nine tailed fox. Danzo hated The fact that the nine tailed fox was split into two separate halves. What's worse is one of those Halfs is sealed a six-year-old boy! While the boy has been going Under preemptive chakra control training by the fourth hokage's old guard, it isn't enough for Danzo. "He is a ticking time bomb",he complains to orochimaru as the the latter works on an experiment. "One temper tantrum from the brat and we have another crisis on our hands." The sanin chuckles "I'm sure lord fourth's seal is more durable than you give it credit." Danzo is not amused. "this is serious most villagers don't even know what threat the brat truly is, if he cannot control his power…"
"the boy practices chakra control every day his mother is very adamant about that, from what I've been told and he learns from some of the top ninja of the leaf you should rest easy." Orochimaru replies.
"I would be able to rest easier if I knew the kid were able to control the beast, or at the very least could access his clan's chains, then the threat he poses would be limited."
"So that's what this meeting is about" orochimaru sighs "as much as I would love to preform such an experiment for you, I was just cleared of a criminal charge and I am not risking another getting in the way of my becoming hokage. "However," orochimaru said while smirking "From all my research into kekki genkai I have found that emotional trauma is a very reliable way to awaken such skills, but you would never purposely traumatize a child for your own goals would you?"
Danzo chuckled "let it never be said that I didn't do what needed to be done for this village."
The next day when school ended Naruto was met by an anbu team. They explained to Naruto that the guard that usually picked him up for after school training was out on a mission, and he would be trained by them today. Naruto thought this was a little weird, but this had happened once or twice before so there wasn't any reason to question an elite ninja from the village. That didn't mean he wasn't upset. Naruto already hated this training. it was tedious, draining, and all around a bother, worst of all he was forced to do this every day so he had very little time to make friends with his classmates. Even the one friend he had Sasuke Uchia was barely able to hang out with him because of how much time it took up. It was even worse when his normal teachers weren't there, Naruto's training was mainly on boring drills focused around charka control and his physical body. run laps around the training ground with charka focused on on his feet, punch the training doll with charka focused on his hands, put a special tag on a tree use too much chakra and it will burn out use too little and it will fall off. Repeat ad nassium every day untill his training ended. The kage guard tried to make it interesting at least replacing the laps with games where Naruto had to chase them around the training ground or the punching exercises with light sparring, but when ever he had a substitute, he was forced to do the boring drills again. He knew this training was important, his mother explained to him that when the cloud tried to kidnap him, his charka abilities awoke early, which if he didn't train every day now, would make it much harder to control when it was time to actually learn how to use it. Which is half of the truth, the other half being his half of the nine tailed fox hidden sealed within him. Naruto's training went as normal until he needed a break. One ninja pulled out a small harp and started playing and he dosed off. When Naruto woke up he saw the sky had changed from blue to orange and saw his mom walking towards him. Oh, it's getting late! he thought as he started walking towards his mother. But before he could reach her massive explosions erupted in the village as a ninja with long black hair and a bright red armor jumped behind Kushina and stabbed her in the back! Outside of the genjitsu Naruto screamed as chains flew out of him wildly one of them even hitting a root member who was just a little too careless. The other two escaped leaving. By the time the kage guard arrived all they could find was naruto and a single root ninja both unconscious.
The next day Huruzen demanded Danzo meet him in a safe house near the outskirts of the village. Danzo knew he would be confronted about this but didn't expect it to happen immediately. Being a little suspicious he had three anbu wait outside during the meeting. When he opened the door he saw huruzen sitting down at a small table with orochimaru standing beside him and 5 (non root) anbu ninja around the room. "Good I have an ally here" thought Danzo unknowing of the betrayal to come. Danzo took a seat, no one spoke for a short moment I felt like an eternity. Huruzen was the one to break the silence. "I know that every action you have taken you have taken with the village in mind, but this has gone too far, Danzo."
Danzo calmly responds "if the brat looses control of the kyubi if would mean the end for all of us." "SO YOU ATTACK HIM?!" Huruzen shouts slamming his hands down on the desk. "I unlocked his chakra chains" retorted Danzo "now he has a weapon to use to gain control of his half of the nine tails."
"what you did could have risked him losing control over the nine tails." Huruzen
Danzo says "I'm not an idiot I had my root put a second seal on over his first one to stop any of the foxes chakra from leaking."
Huruzen sighed " Kushina wants to kill you and the village elders want punishment as well, and not only for this… he trails off.
Danzo was taken off guard by this. "Oh there's something else?"
"Your experiments Danzo" Huruzen explains "I know about them, The elders do too. If it were only the hashirama cells we could have let that slide but Sharingan and the immortality experiments? It's gone too far."
Danzo stands up "immortality? What are you- " he is cut off by the anbu forcing him back into his seat.
"Don't lie to me!" yells huruzen tossing a folder containing the forged and manipulated evidence Orochimaru's men created down onto the table.
Danzo's face twisted in shock and anger as he looked through the folder. Official root Transcripts of conversations that never took place, photographs that shouldn't exist depicting Dunzo harassing and forcing orochimaru to do increasingly awful research and experiments on leaf Shinobi. His eye widen
"Huruzen this -"
he his cut off by his friend "I also have audio recordings do you want me to play them?" As huruzen plays the audio Danzo hears his and orochimarus voice playing out what was written on the transcript like a sick play. Danzo finally realizes what is happening: Orochimaru had his men manipulate evidence to make to make Danzo take the fall for his own wrongdoings in order to secure his position as hokage. he silently stares at the snake sage in silent rage as the the tape continues.
After the recording stops huruzen speaks. "Danzo I know you did everything even this for the village, but I cannot ignore this. You have been in the darkness for too long, You need help. The elders see you as a traitor, the clan heads want you either killed or imprisoned for life. I have been able to talk them down on the charges of treason but that is all I can do. You will be placed under house arrest for the remainder of your life. If you prove to be more mentally sound we will allow you more freedoms. Please don't resist." Danzo takes solace in his friends mercy, "thank you huruzen my old friend. But you know I can't comply with this." Root ninja blow open the wall behind Danzo and leave with him. Danzo and the entire root organization Leave the leaf Village taking as much information and secrets as they can all becoming missing nin.
