Chapter 3

Kenichi couldn't hold back from laughing as he blasted through the air into the city scape that was his testing ground. It annoyed him that he needed to hold back all the time so releasing all of his restraints was a rather freeing feeling. He could, of course, change himself to be weaker and just buff himself up when necessary but he felt that was a bad idea. If he got in the habit of keeping himself weak he'd be vulnerable to surprise attacks or incidents happening in front of him. While it wasn't something he needed to worry about on a day-to-day basis, yet, it was something he would have to worry about in the future. It made more sense to get used to holding himself back now rather than struggle with it when he was even stronger in the future.

Golden lightning started to spark around his body as he tapped into and then amplified his Bio-Energy. Call it Ki, Chi, Chakra, whatever you wanted it was all just different names for the same thing, life force. Thanks to his Quirk he had access to massive amounts of it and eating just gave him more to work with. He hadn't managed to do much more with it than using it to enhance himself temporarily. He hoped to eventually be able to fire energy blasts with it but that seemed to be a ways off, for the time being. Instead, he just used it as a general amplification of all of his physical abilities.

He quickly blew past the first layer or robots within the city and went for the ones located deeper within. He planned to take out as many as he could before more of the students could battle their way past the first layer. He only slowed down to locate his targets after blowing past a couple of blocks. His first target turned out to be one of the two pointers. He didn't even bother slowing down or doing anything specific, rather he simply charged completely through the torso of the scorpion-like robot.

His body was currently strong and durable enough that he could easily crash through entire buildings without stopping. He hadn't tested it but he was pretty certain that he was currently bullet proof. That meant the robots had nothing they could threaten him with or anything to even give him the smallest hint of fear. Except the zero pointer. That thing might not be able to kill him but he was pretty sure it could pound him very deep into the ground.

After blowing through the two pointer, he spotted one of the tank-like three pointers and grinned. He had free reign to let loose and test all the tricks he'd been thinking of and this presented an excellent opportunity. He quickly lifted his right arm and aimed his palm at the robot. As it turned to look at him, Kenichi's arm changed shape rapidly. His muscles bulged outward ripping apart the sleeve, as a hole opened on his palm. There was a low whine as his forearm swelled like a balloon. Honestly it was a a bit disturbing to look at. Kenichi didn't care as he called out, "Air cannon!"

Hey, the rule of cool totally applied to being a Superhero and brand recognition was something that had to be worked on from day one! As he called out the name of his attack, the muscles on his forearm contracted instantly and violently as every single fiber of super powered muscle was used to compress the air that had been sucked inside into as small a form as it possibly could. It was then forced through a the relatively small hole in his palm. The result was predictable. A blast of compressed air launched out of his palm and slammed into the robot with enough force to shatter it into pieces and scattered its remains for a block.

Kenichi wasted no time sitting around and reveling over his accomplishment. He immediately took off and shifted his arms. Their new form caused them to bulge while ripping apart what remained of the sleeves of his tracksuit jacket, as expected. His arms extended slightly while bulking up and shifting into massive slicing blades. Even better, the edges of the blades were a special mix of carbon steel honed to a perfect edge so sharp it would make razors envious. He really owed Momo his thanks for having such a wonderful Quirk he could borrow some aspects from. Without her Quirk his blades would likely be edged with hardened bone instead.

He blew past a one pointer while swinging out his left arm. The blade sliced through the unicycle support struts on the robot like a hot knife through butter. He didn't even have to look as the tin can fell over and shattered on the pavement. As it fell he focused on his sense of smell. The robots had a very distinct odor to them, a combination that was unique to heavy machinery. Oil, hydraulic fluid, ozone from electricity, grease, hot rubber, and other things associated with them. He used his nose to hunt down the nearest machines and took them out in one of three primary fashions. The blade, blunt force trauma, or an air cannon blast.

He did, occasionally, spice things up. For one of the one pointers he decided to have a bit of fun. He expanded his arms to ten times their normal size making him look pretty ridiculous. The larger size did give him a little extra strength but it was more for the leverage and reach that he did it. He grabbed the one pointer's torso, beneath it's arms, and lifted it into the air. With a manic grin, he flipped himself backwards hauling the robot into the air and performing a perfect suplex on the machine.

As he straightened up he noticed a few other potentials staring at him in shock. He gave them all a cocky grin as his arms shrunk to a normal size. One of the other staring seemed unable to stop himself from shouting out, "WHAT THE HELL?! DID YOU JUST SUPLEX THAT ROBOT?!"

Kenichi laughed while giving a thumbs up then took off with another thunder crack of sound as he broke the sound barrier. He kept moving and destroying robots though he did stop and help anytime he saw someone about to be ambushed by the bots or overwhelmed and alone. He did spot Shinso once helping someone else with a weak Quirk as they took out one and two pointers together. The bots actually had off switches located in certain 'vital' spots that those with weak and/or non-combat related Quirks could go for if they had at least some physical ability.

Looking over the setup, it would be entirely possible for a Quirkless individual who dedicated themselves to physical training to pass the test. After all, someone like Aizawa's Quirk was as useful as a spitwad against the robots and he could have likely passed this exam back in his day. Maybe he did? Kenichi wasn't sure when they started using robots for the testing.

He quickly dismissed his thoughts and casual dismemberment of a three pointer when the ground began to quake and a truly massive machine of epic proportions showed itself. It was currently ripping its way out of a large building that it had been hidden inside of. It made sense to hide the giant ass robot inside of a fake office building since there was nowhere else to hide such a massive machine.

As the robot trundled out of it's hiding spot and scattered the test takers like rats, Kenichi laughed. His heart hammered with excitement as he looked at the gigantic machine. He quickly did some mental math and grinned broadly. He was pretty sure he currently had eighty-four villain points and an unknown number of hero points. Bakugo had gotten first place with seventy-something points. He'd blown that out of the water so he could stop hunting for points and enjoy spending some time fighting the giant robot. So far none of the other machines had offered a challenge or a reason to go beyond a certain point with his abilities. The big guy though? The grin splitting his face turned slightly manic.

His whole body seemed to shift subtly as he began reinforcing himself with hardened steel. All of his joints and fingers were covered and protected with the metal increasing his offense and defense simultaneously. Additionally, the small sparks of golden lightning around his body suddenly amped up and became crackling bolts of energy as he pumped himself up with energy. He crouched down and placed his fists on the concrete as he took a runners starting stance. Just before he launched himself, he heard a massive explosion from one of the other testing grounds. Midoriya destroying his zero pointer no doubt. Time was running out.

With a thunderous boom, Kenichi launched with so much power that the ground he left behind shattered into a crater. The very air seemed to explode as he shattered the sound barrier. As he screamed through the air toward the zero pointers head, he cocked his arm back and prepared for a rapid shift. As he did an old memory surfaced and he couldn't help himself as he screamed at the top of his lungs, "I CAST FIST!"

As soon as he finished speaking, he threw his arm forward and expanded it to a massive size. His enormous, steel covered, fist slammed into the zero pointers head with all the force he could muster. The results were spectacular. His super strength powered gigantic fist completely crushed the robots head. The force ripped the giant machines head off and crushed it like a tin can while sending it flying away. The entire robot tilted back and began to fall while minor explosions rocked it due to the force and momentum of the blow.

Kenichi cackled like a madman as he fell toward the ground without a care in the world. He had nothing to fear from falling at his current height and the sight of the giant scary robot breaking apart from secondary explosions was a beautiful sight. It was only moments after he landed on the ground that a siren went off to announce the end of the exam.

As Present Mic announced the start of the practical exam, the remaining teachers sat in a room filled with monitors to keep an eye on the prospective students. After Kenichi's explosive start a lazy sounding voice drawled, "Someone actually listened and didn't need further instructions. How rare."

A few others chuckled at the comment. It was rare that a prospective student would take off the instant they were given the go ahead. Most got confused because they expected a count down or something similar. His quick start drew some attention so the teachers were paying attention when Kenichi plowed right through the first robot without even trying to fight it.

The same lazy voice got curious and pulled up Kenichi's student file and browsed through it quickly and efficiently, "Well, that's clearly not right."

"Oh?/Oh?"

Both a husky feminine voice and a squeaky male voice asked simultaneously. The lazy voice transferred the information on Kenichi's Quirk to the main screen for everyone to see, "His Quirk is listed simply as Shapeshifting. Yet he just plowed through a two pointer like it wasn't even there. They might not be hardened reinforced steel but they're not paper mache either."

The squeaky voice hummed as it read the details, "Ah, he's the twin brother of one of our recommended students." He quickly pulled up Yaotorozu Momo's student file and everyone could clearly see the familial resemblance, "Their Quirks don't seem to have much in common, at first look."

"Air Canon!"

Everyone looked in surprise as they witnessed Kenichi take out his first three pointer with a compressed blast of air. The squeaky voice spoke up again, "I suppose, technically speaking, inflating ones arm like that qualifies as shapeshifting..."

When Kenichi's arms turned into massive metal blades the squeaky voice sighed, "That certainly doesn't though. We'll have to pull him in to ask why his Quirk registry is incorrect. For a family like the Yaoyorozu's to neglect something like that..."

Left unsaid was that it would have to be one hell of a secret that needed protecting for the Yoayorozu family to keep quiet about it. Especially when their daughter already had such a terrifying gift. Idiots would look at her ability and think it was interesting, maybe. But someone with a brain would realize that the young woman possessed the power to destroy the world. There were two very obvious methods in nuclear warfare and economic collapse, but there were also more subtle methods as well. It truly looked like the Yaoyorozu family had produced two true monsters.

The teachers discussed other students as Kenichi stopped doing weird and or ridiculous things. Though they happily noted that he was just as willing to help people as he was to utterly wreck robots. They did get another surprise just before they released the zero pointer when Kenichi's arms grew in size so he could suplex a one pointer. It was totally over the top and kind of pointless. Still, it was entertaining and drew smiles or smirks from the observers.

It was once they release the zero pointers that they got not one, but two major surprises. The first came from a participant who had managed to wrack up a total of zero villain points and looked to be on track to get zero hero points. They spotted the girl trapped on the ground, the robot would never have hurt her, but the participants didn't know that. The young man suddenly burst off of the ground with so much power that he, very clearly, shattered both of his legs. They could easily see his legs flapping in the wind. Even more shocking than the brutal destruction of his legs, they witnessed him destroying his arm to give the zero pointer one hell of a punch.

A moment after the first shocking punch, they saw the massive explosion from Kenichi's feet as he too blasted into the air toward his areas zero pointer. A quick look didn't show anyone in 'immanent' danger, but they might not have a camera angle up to spot someone. There was a lot of area to cover and that was why they recorded everything for review later. They all watched in shock as Kenichi's arm expanded to a massive size and completely devastated the zero pointer in a single blow.

A man punched the wall as he watched not one, but two of the zero pointers collapsing, "Those monsters! It's been years since anyone's destroyed a zero pointer and now they've taken out two! AT THE SAME TIME! Do they know how much work I put into building and maintaining them?!"

There was a moment of commiserating silence before the squeaky voice spoke up, "Aizawa-kun, if you would be so kind as to find and escort Yaoyorozu Kenichi to my office, I would appreciate it."

The lazy voice, Aizawa, grunted in annoyance to acknowledge the request from his boss, Principal Nezu.

Kenichi couldn't stop smiling as he took in the dumbfounded and awed looks of the people in his area as they looked between him and the still exploding zero pointer. Kenichi didn't say anything, but as he walked toward the exit he saw Shinso and gave the purple-ette a thumbs up while mouthing 'good luck' to him.

Once all the excitement died down, everyone made their way back to the buses and rode them back to the main campus. No one dared to sit next to Kenichi, not even Shinso. It was a bit of a bummer but he didn't let it bother him. He spent his time picturing the cute awed looks he expected to get from Momo when he told her all about the exam. He was fully cognizant of the fact that he was becoming a sis-con. He could live with that since he wasn't finding his sister sexually attractive at the same time. He could fully admit that she was a knock out, even before his memories of another life where she was just an anime character, but she was his sister and that was that.

Kenichi's smile didn't even falter as he exited the locker room in his street clothes and found Aizawa approaching him with a bland bored look on his face, "Follow me kid. We got questions."

Kenichi just nodded and fell into step with Aizawa. He'd been expecting them to want to question him about his Quirk, he'd just expected it to be after they had begun the review process. They must have spotted him doing one of his weird stunts on a live feed. It wasn't a big deal. Once he explained the situation they would know why his Quirk registry was off.

When they entered an office, Kenichi wasn't the least bit disappointed when he saw Nezu in person for the first time. He couldn't resist smiling as Nezu spoke up in his somewhat squeaky voice, "Am I a mouse? A dog? A bear? I'm the principal!"

Kenichi continued to smile warmly as he gave a polite bow of respect. To not do so would be beneath his dignity and something his parents would rail him over if they found out. Nezu was deserving of respect so Kenichi happily gave that respect, "It's an honor to meet you Principal Nezu. As I'm sure you're away, I'm Yaoyorozu Kenichi, feel free to call me Kenichi."

Nezu studied Kenichi for a moment before he spoke, "I take it from your lack of surprise that you are aware of why I asked you to come here Kenichi-kun?"

Kenichi nodded, "Of course. Though I honestly expected to be called in during the review process. I believe you're curious about my Quirk and why what I showed doesn't fit with 'Shapeshifting,' correct?"

"Correct!"

Kenichi nodded and decided that there was no reason not to tell the truth... mostly. He'd definitely be leaving mentions of reincarnation out, "It's simple really. Originally my Quirk did appear to simply be the ability to Shapeshift, within a given limit. However, about a year ago, I realized I could do more than simply change how I appeared. I could change myself on a fundamental level. When I was shapeshifting into adults, I was becoming an adult. When I shifted back to my regular self, I was becoming a kid once more. A little effort and I found I could change not just appearance, but my very body on any level. Stronger muscles, denser bones, faster healing, and so on. If I had to pick a new name for my Quirk, it would be Biokinesis."

Nezu sighed, "You Yaoyorozu's are a scary bunch. Still, your family didn't hide what Momo-chan could do, why hide what you can do?"

"Easy. Momo can destroy the world in nuclear fire but humanity would probably survive in some way. If people truly understood what I could do, it could destroy humanity." He looked deadly serious as he looked at the surprised faces of Nezu and Aizawa, "I am biologically immortal. If that, among other secrets, got out to the general public... well I'm sure you can imagine the damage that could be done."

There was silence as Nezu worked over the information he'd been given. His Quirk, High Spec, made him one of, if not the, smartest beings on the planet. He didn't like the conclusions he was reaching, "You've implied that there's worse secrets."

Kenichi nodded, "Not only can I manipulate my body in any fashion I desire, I can manipulate the bodies of other people. Oh, it's not to the extent I can manipulate myself, but I can mess with their genetics. I could turn men into women and vice versa. I could induce, or cure, cancer. I could quite possibly create a devastating deadly plague worse than anything the world has ever seen before. And, of course, induce biological immortality in people. My sister can destroy the world, I can make it rip itself to shreds."

Nezu frowned deeply, "That's all very terrifying, but it doesn't explain how you did what you did during the exam."

Kenichi nodded, "That's the last horrifying secret. When I touch someone, I can read their entire genetic structure in an instant. It's a nifty little trick and lets me know all about their Quirk. Once I know that, I can change my own genetic structure to match. In essence, I can copy, and even give, Quirks with just a harmless touch."

Dead. Silence.

AN

I honestly wanted to put an authors note at the top, but I hate when stories do that. So hopefully, if you're one of the folks who are giving me a last chance with this chapter, you're still here.

I'd like to take this opportunity to address the comments I've had about Kenichi and hopefully keep all of you around for more in the future.

First, yes, Kenichi is a bit of a hypocrite but it's not quite as bad as some people have made it out to be. The biggest point of contention was his contrasting views on Shinso and Izuku. At first blush, the two seem pretty similar, and they are, to a point. They do have two huge differences though, Shinso grew up with a Quirk, Izuku did not and Izuku clearly has a much stronger desire to be a hero. Shinso does want to be a hero, we can clearly see this from his actions. He's just not pathologically desperate to be one like Izuku is. Without a Quirk, Izuku only had two things he could work on to improve in an effort to become a hero, his body and mind. He only worked on one of those and completely neglected the other. Someone intelligent like Izuku, who is aware of heroes like Eraser Head, should have known that a strong body and a strong mind are required to be a good hero. That's why I feel there's no excuse for him to have neglected his body so utterly. Shinso, on the other hand, has a Quirk that doesn't really have any connection to his body. This puts him in a different category than Izuku. Could Shinso have worked on his physique? Totally! But if Kenichi were to disparage Shinso for not working out, he would have to have the same opinion for Aoyama, Uraraka, Kaminari, Koda, Jiro, Sero, Tokoyami, Mineta, and (Original) Momo. None of them were particularly fine specimens of physical exercise. That's nearly half of 1-A who are in the same category as Shinso. While Shinso did (and will) benefit from working out and training in a capture weapon, it's not something that should have been expected of him from the very beginning. I highly doubt that even Aizawa was a perfect specimen with mastery of his capture cloth from the first day of class.

Another point was Kenichi blasting Bakugo for illegal Quirk usage while using his own Quirk. His damage of doors with his strength was mentioned. However, there is a HUGE difference between the two. The salient point being, Bakugo used his Quirk to violently and physically abuse someone, Kenichi did not. There's a huge difference between using a Quirk to assault someone and accidently breaking doors. Quiet, non destructive Quirk usage is likely something that is a constant in MHA and isn't an issue. While Quirk usage is supposed to be illegal without a license, I don't see someone like Jiro getting a fine, or jail time, for plugging her ear into a music player.

The Millennial trash talk, clearly a joke that didn't quite land. Probably poorly written on my part, my bad. I am fully aware participation trophies didn't cause entitlement. It's just a common go-to from people who argue those points and something of a joke to anyone who knows better. Again, my bad. I'll try to avoid joke failures in the future.

Lastly, Kenichi's spoiled brat attitude. Despite his memories from a past life, Kenichi is still very much a fifteen year old whose brain is swimming in a plethora of hormones. He's also a flawed individual who has his own issues to overcome and be better than. A little smug here and there that he gets slapped down for will help him grow as a character. It's better than being a violent psychopath who tries to blatantly murder a classmate.

I think that covers everything. If you all have more questions, comments, criticism, pleased drop a review. If you want to read ahead, Pat-reon slash thomasdarkrose is currently on chapter 8. I think I'll maintain a five chapter lead on pat-reon.

See you next time!
