Chapter 5

Kenichi and Momo sat together in the back of their limo. Neither of them had wanted to take it to school. They would have preferred to take public transportation to help blend in a little better and not flaunt their wealth blatantly. Or at least, Kenichi didn't want to. Momo could be fairly clueless and had happily slapped people in the face with their wealth on more than one occasion. No one really got mad when she did since she did it with a purity and innocence not many could match.

However, there had been a small villain attack the previous night not too far from their manor so their parents had insisted on the limo ride. Despite Momo and himself essentially being demi-gods, their parents still worried for them. It was kind of touching, really.

After they exited the back of the limo, Momo, once again, double checked his tie and brushed some imaginary lint off of his shoulders. It was something she did whenever she was nervous, focus on him. He indulged her nervous habit as she spoke softly, "I'm so happy we'll be in the same class like always. I'm not sure what I would do without you around."

Kenichi just smiled and nodded along. They'd been in the same class since they began school. Most schools didn't want to separate twins from each other. Though he expected that U.A. wouldn't care and would have split them apart, if they didn't need Aizawa teaching the pair of them. He suspected they'd both been placed into class 1-A specifically because Aizawa was the homeroom teacher. His Quirk could shut down their quirks and stop them in their tracks. It was why his class contained the more volatile Quirks.

Of course not all of his students had volatile Quirks but how else could one explain Bakugo, Midoriya, Todoroki, and Tokoyami being in the same class as themselves? All six of them had the potential to really lose control of their Quirks and it would require someone like Aizawa to stop them. It just made sense.

As they walked through the main entrance of the first year campus, he felt slightly disappointed that this was only his second visit to the school. He'd been expecting to be contacted by Nezu or Recovery Girl to come in and take a look at All Might, then heal the big lug. Yet there had been no word at all. The only contact had been his acceptance letter. As he'd expected, he'd come in first. Though he'd scored ninety-two villain points, a few more then he'd counted, and forty-four rescue points. That gave him a record breaking total of one hundred and thirty-six points. That was a good gap of fifty-nine points ahead of Bakugo who only scored seventy-seven villain points.

Hopefully, now that the school year had started they would ask him to heal the massive blonde ham. Even if they didn't, he was one hundred percent sure that they would as soon as the USJ incident happened. No way would All Might take the students being in danger laying down. He'd likely beg for healing at that point. Not that Kenichi would make him beg. Just one whisper of a request and he'd have All Might fit as a fiddle in an hour, two tops.

Kenichi was dragged out of his musing as they arrived at the large door to classroom 1-A. He didn't feel any need to remark on the large door, it was very obviously designed for people with large bodies. Considering Shoji Mezo should be a student and he was huge, it just made sense. It slid open with ease, showing it was well balanced, and revealed an empty classroom. They had arrived an hour early at Momo's insistence. She wanted to make a good first impression.

Kenichi just wanted to start shaking hands with his new classmates. He definitely didn't want to flat out copy most of their Quirks. Actually giving himself a fully functional copy of every students Quirk would actually be a very dangerous thing for him to do. Quirk Singularity was a legitimate concern and even if he currently had full control over every atom of his existence, it didn't mean he would if he took on too much power all at once. That was yet another reason he stuck to the side benefits of peoples Quirks. He could copy Endevours flames, but he much preferred to just copy his heat resistance and call it a day. It kept his own Quirk factor stable and still gave him an excellent power boost.

The twins found their desks and smiled when they noticed their seats were next to each other. As a bit of a joke, Kenichi gave his sister a polite bow, "I look forward to spending the year with you, madam."

Momo giggled and mimicked his actions, "And I you, sir."

They both laughed at that and made themselves comfortable. They passed the time until students began to arrive in a comfortable silence. They had already discussed everything they needed to. Momo knew to keep the true limits of his Quirk quiet until he decided to speak about it himself.

They passed the next half hour mostly in silence with just the occasional comment or supposition about their potential classmates. Kenichi made sure to tease Momo a bit for making them arrive so much sooner than any of the other students. Still, it was with a complete lack of surprise that Ida Tenya walked into the classroom exactly thirty minutes before class was scheduled to begin. Kenichi wasn't surprised to see him, but Ida was definitely surprised to see them. His stiff movements paused the moment he spotted them before he let out a quiet, "Oh!"

Ida cleared his throat and walked further into the classroom with his somewhat iconic stiff robotic movements, "I honestly expected to be the first student to arrive today. How wonderful to meet two other such conscientious students! I am Ida Tenya and I look forward to spending the next three years with you!"

So saying, he gave a polite bow of greeting. Kenichi and Momo both climbed to their feet and gave bows in return. Kenichi spoke for the pair of them since he was less shy than Momo was, "It's a pleasure to meet you Ida-san. I am Yaoyorozu Kenichi and this is my twin sister Yaoyorozu Momo. We look forward to spending the next three years with you."

Ida straightened up and waved his arm in a stiff, yet excited, manner, "Ah! Yaoyorozu Kenichi-san! The one who took first place in the practical exam?"

Kenichi smiled and nodded, "One and the same, and please, call me Kenichi. It makes it less confusing between myself and my sister without having to use our full names to address us."

Ida offered his hand for Kenichi to shake, "Then please feel free to call me Tenya!"

After they shook hands, Ida offered his hand to Momo, which she took, "It's a pleasure to meet you Ida-san."

After repeating his offer to Momo so she could refer to him by his given name, the three of them fell into quiet conversation while waiting for others to begin arriving. Ida was impressed when he found out that not only had Kenichi come in first for the open exams but Momo had received a recommendation. When he found out Kenichi had denied a recommendation, he was suitably impressed.

Conversations and greetings began to pick up from there as more and more students began to arrive. Momo ended up dragged off to chat with a small group of girls that included Ashido Mina, Hagakure Toru, and Jiro Kyoka. Kenichi was really happy for his sister as she made quick friends with the three girls. He found himself talking to Ida Tenya, Kirishima Eijiro, Kaminari Denki, and Hanta Sero. Kaminari had quickly learned to keep any inappropriate comments about the female class members to himself when he'd made the mistake of commenting on Momo. Learning that not only was Kenichi her twin, but also the one who crushed the practical exam, gave him the appropriate idea that upsetting him was a bad move.

Other students had arrived and either were talking in different small groups, or sitting alone. In the case of Todoroki Shoto, he was not only sitting alone but was emo brooding while doing so. It wasn't until Bakugo arrived and sat down in a rude enough fashion to get Ida's attention, that Kenichi noticed a few students still missing. Midoriya and Uraraka should, most likely, arrive together along with Aizawa-sensei.

Koda Koji, the big guy who could talk to animals like Doctor Doolittle was missing, meaning he was likely the one that Kenichi had replaced. This seemed more likely since, unfortunately, the grape bastard Mineta Minoru was in the classroom. It only took the short bastard a couple of minutes to alienate the entire female population currently in the classroom. It took a significant amount of willpower for Kenichi to not simply punch the little shit through a wall when he heard his low mumblings about the girls in the class. It was especially hard when the little shit talked about Momo. Sometimes he regretted having hearing that likely surpassed many but the most powerful hearing based Quirks.

On the bright side, he'd socialized with the class and managed to shake the hands of almost everyone and got a read on their Quirks. The exceptions were Bakugo, Todoroki, and Mineta. The first two were antisocial, with Bakugo additionally being an asshole. Meanwhile, he flat out refused to touch Mineta. His Quirk wasn't all that great anyways. So what if the ability to stick to any surface would make his Spider-Man impression even better. Not worth it!

It didn't matter either way. There was no way for him to use so many Quirks all at once anyway. He hadn't actually incorporated anything from any of their Quirks yet. Quirk Singularity was something he rightfully feared, even if he could mitigate most of the horror from it. For now he had their Quirks stored in his mental 'data banks' so he could look over the details later and take the bits he wanted to keep permanently.

As for getting the genetic code for Todoroki and Bakugo, he'd likely get their code by punching them in the face during a training class or the Sports Festival. He wasn't in a rush to get their data or anything so he could be patient about it. As Kenichi thought about opportunities to punch the pair in their faces, the door opened and revealed a short kid with wild green hair, Midoriya Izuku had arrived. He watched the interactions between Midoriya, Ida, and Uraraka Ochaco until Aizawa interrupted them.

As everyone sat down, Aizawa stripped out of his thick yellow sleeping bag while addressing the class, "It took you all eight seconds to settle down. Time is too precious to waste, you all aren't rational enough." He pulled out a gym uniform to show to the class, "Put on the gym uniforms in your desk and join me on the training grounds. You have ten minutes."

Without another word, Aizawa left a classroom full of confused students. Well, except Kenichi who had been expecting this to happen. He grabbed his gym uniform, a somewhat stylish pair of track pants and a matching t-shirt. The locker rooms weren't too far from the classroom so he arrived quickly and was changed in moments. It was amazing how quickly one could get through annoying things like changing clothing when they had super speed.

Kenichi was already leaving the locker room when the majority of the remaining boys arrived. When he stepped out onto the field, Aizawa gave a grunt of acknowledgment and then remained silent. The silence didn't last long as more of the class started to arrive after having changed. Once everyone had arrived, Aizawa explained how they would be doing a Quirk assessment. After the objections were dealt with, Aizawa faced Kenichi, "Yaoyorozu..."

"Just call me Kenichi, it'll be less confusing."

Aizawa nodded, "Kenichi-san, you scored the highest for the practical exam, what was your best record for the softball pitch?"

Aizawa's statement generated some interested mutters from the other students as they now knew Kenichi was the one with the record breaking exam score. Kenichi thought a bit before he could answer, it wasn't something he memorized, "About eighty meters give or take a meter."

Aizawa tossed him a softball with a black band around it and gestured to a circle on the ground, "Throw it as far as you can without leaving the circle."

Kenichi caught the ball and smirked a bit when he heard Bakugo growling in the background. Once he was inside of the circle, he decided to show off a bit. He held the ball in his left hand while he began to transform his right arm into his Air Cannon configuration. Once the hole opened up in his palm, he placed the softball over it and modified his fingers to hold it tightly in place. The air filled with the sound of a high pitched whine as his arm started to expand like a balloon.

There were sounds of shock and surprise from the students as they watched the, somewhat, grotesque sight of Kenichi's arm expanding. Kenichi looked over at the group and spoke, "I suggest everyone cover their ears." He pointed at Momo with his left hand while the right continued to expand, "If you have above average hearing please, for your own safety, ask my sister Momo for a pair of ear plugs so I don't accidentally hurt you."

Jiro was the only one to ask Momo for earplugs. It was only a moment of work for Momo to produce a simple pair as that was one of her prepped items. If she was going to be tossing out flashbangs, she obviously needed to be capable of protecting her own ears. Once he saw that most of the class had taken his advice, Bakugo and Todoroki were being obstinant, he moved to phase two.

For a normal Air Cannon, he'd just rapidly collapse his arm to fire a wave of pressurized air. However, this time he had a cork in the form of the softball. This allowed him to start compressing his arm with more strength and less speed. The muscles of his arm bulged and twisted as he forced the air to compress more. The more he compressed it, the more powerful the resulting shot would be. Once he could no longer compress his arm further, he called out, "Fire in the hole!"

The moment he release his hold on the softball there was a thunderous crack as the pressurized air exploded from the hole in his palm and propelled the ball past the speed of sound in an instant. Everyone watched in stunned silence as visible shockwaves rolled off of the rapidly excellerated softball. Jiro was exceedingly happy she'd gotten the ear plugs from Momo. Meanwhile Todoroki and Bakugo were silently regretting not listening as their ears rang painfully from the explosive sound.

All in all it took just over a minute for him to fire the softball, a good portion of which was waiting for the rest of the class to be prepared for his actions. He looked over at Aizawa who was studying the cellphone in his hand. The whole class waited in silence until the phone let off and alert and Aizawa turned it around to show everyone the results.

4,284.9M

Even Kenichi let out a low whistle at his score. He had been fairly certain he'd score over a kilometer pretty easily, but over four was way above his estimation. Aizawa addressed the class, "In order to improve you need to know where you stand."

This led to the expected exchange of the students getting excited about using their Quirks followed by Aizawa's expulsion threat, the talk about how unfair the world was, and so on. Honestly? Kenichi felt that Aizawa was showing some seriously bad traits for a teacher to have right now. He complained about how irrational it was that the education system was dragging its feet about using Quirks for the physical assessments, then expects them to tell him everything he needs to know about his students Quirks.

It was irrational! The physical assessment was physical it showed nothing helpful about Quirks that couldn't be used to augment a persons physical capabilities in some manner. Jiro, Hagakure, and Kaminari were especially effected by the tests being purely physical. Mineta too, he supposed, due to his height, but fuck that guy.

Even then, the purely physical nature of the tests gives a huge advantage to the Quirks that enhance physical attributes. Sure, some Quirks can help out and even excel in the tests when used properly. The end result though is that it's a completely biased test where he essentially just threatened to expel the least physically fit person in the class. It had nothing to do with Quirks. If it did, they'd do tests designed for Quirk usage, not a test that preexisted Quirks!

Using a completely outdated test while deriding the education board for not allowing Quirks in a test designed before Quirks existed made Aizawa a hypocrite. Kenichi did his best to be rational when it mattered and to not be a hypocrite. He knew he had some things he was a hypocrite on, everyone did. However, he never used his hypocrisy as an excuse to punish people. Though he might give them a hard time. He wasn't perfect, knew he wasn't, and didn't care. He just do his best.

Still, he wasn't ready to say anything to Aizawa just yet. He planned to nail the teacher at the end of the tests. To that end, he rejoined the rest of the class and spoke with them while Aizawa started having the students run the fifty meter dash in pairs. He joined Momo and the majority of the girls off to one side. As he approached them, Ashido Mina, the pink skinned, acid spewing, alien queen, gave him a bright smile, "Yaoyorozu Kenichi right? You related to Yaomomo here?"

Kenichi looked at a slightly blushing Momo and smirked, "Yeah, I'm her slightly older twin brother. Feel free to just call me Kenichi to make it less confusing."

Mina smiled brightly, "In that case call me Mina! Your Quirk looked kind of weird when you used it, what is it?"

Kenichi chuckled a little at his Quirk being weird. It was super freaking weird!

"I call my Quirk Biokinesis. I can modify my own genetic structure, and thus my entire body, as I see fit. So I can make myself stronger, faster, and so on at will. I can even do weird things like you saw where I turned my arm into a balloon. Or..."

Suddenly he looked like a male version of Mina, "I can do things like this."

His sudden shift to having pink skin, pink curly hair, yellow horns, and golden eyes with black sclera caused a lot of surprise. Mina practically had stars in her eyes as she looked Kenichi up and down, "That is so cool!"

"When I was younger, we thought my Quirk was just shapeshifting. That was only a small part of it though."

He avoided the true scope of his Quirk's ability for the time being. He didn't want to overload the other students or have them freaking out about the many many things he could do to himself with their Quirks or even to them with his Quirk. He'd need to build at least a bit of a relationship with them first. Then he could start helping them get stronger as he'd done with Momo. Speaking of, he watched as she took her turn while shifting himself back to his normal appearance. He earned a pout from Mina for doing so, but he ignored it.

Momo had taken a standard runners starting position and waited for the signal. The moment it went off, her legs straightened with a burst of power that launched her down the track at high speed. She didn't so much run down the track as she took massive leaps of ten or so meters. In a half dozen leaps she finished her race with a time of three point five two seconds, just half a second slower than the speed based Ida Tenya who got three point zero two seconds.

Momo's performance drew a number of peoples attention. While Quirks hadn't been talked about in detail, she had mentioned that her Quirk was Creation. As she approached the group, his name was called for his turn. As he walked away he hear Mina exclaim, "That was super impressive Yaomomo!"

Next to Kenichi stood Sero Hanta, the tape Quirk user. After a polite greeting, they both got ready. Kenichi took a standard starting position while Sero aimed his elbows at the end of the track. When the signal went off, Sero fired off both of his tape dispensers at the end of the track and used them to reel himself forward much faster than he could have run. Honestly, Sero's tape was pretty impressive, if it came out of a less inconvenient place it would be much more impressive and useful.

Meanwhile, when the signal went off there was a small burst of air pressure as Kenichi instantly accelerated and then decelerated at the finish line. He didn't want to blast the sound barrier to shreds for such a short distance, even so he moved at about three hundred meters a second giving himself a time of point one five seconds.

As he returned to the group of students who all looked at him in shock once again, he spotted Ida looking at him. Instead of looking upset, Ida looked determined. Kenichi gave Ida a smile and nod as he rejoined his sister and the other girls. As he got close, Uraraka looked at him with a bit of awe, "Is there anything your Quirk can't do?"

Kenichi laughed lightly and held out his hand toward her, "Sorry, we haven't met yet...?"

Uraraka blushed and took his hand to shake it, "Uraraka Ochaco, just call me Ochaco."

Kenichi smiled as he copied her genetic information from the handshake, "It's a pleasure to meet you Ochaco-chan. As for my Quirk, it's really adaptable and can be used to modify my body on the fly to match whatever situation I find myself in. Thanks to it I have an abundance of physical abilities. However, I am somewhat limited on my ranged options just using physical strength."

The discussion turned to the topic of everyone's Quirks while the testing continued. Kenichi couldn't help smiling as he digested the information on Ochaco's Quirk. It was so much more than she thought it was and, if he had his way, he would combine it with a few others to give himself a serious power boost in the near future. He was very much looking forward to that. Now, how could he get Midoriya to invite him over so he could meet Midoriya Inko?
