After I got home, I got a message from Iida, saying that he wanted to meet up next week at a diner nearby. After I got all of that sorted out, I decided to do some light quirk and body training, since there was still a lot of time left in the day. I went outside and off to a place where there would be nobody to hear some of the louder ones like explosions. I started off by trying to move things in other directions than towards me, and while much more difficult, it's doable. While I'm able to lift things as heavy as trucks towards me, I can only move about half the amount in other directions, so that's exactly what I did, I pushed myself to my limits. I did the same thing with explosions, but instead of making as large an explosion as possible, because that would destroy the area around me, I decided to do something else, and that was a new idea I thought of, which was producing small explosions from my back. This allows me to both go at fast speeds, and attack behind me. As for a lot of the other ones he had, he couldn't find a way to train them. But for the ones he could, he went all out. After all this he went home and took a pretty long break, but then moved on to regular training, lifting weights, running, and callisthenics, etc. At that point the sun had gone down, and I was completely exhausted, so I trudged over to my bed and fell asleep very quickly.
As soon as I woke up, I saw a reminder on my phone, reminding me I was meeting up with All Might, but I don't think I really needed reminding, this was one of the most exciting moments of my life. I walked over to the kitchen and greeted my mom, before going out to school. "Alright class, today's the fitness examination, are you guys ready?" A similar outburst spread through the class when they talked about becoming heroes, but this time without the quirks, because they got in a lot of trouble when the head-teacher walked in. As the teacher led everyone out of the classroom, he explained that we were not allowed to use our quirks for this, which got a few upset looks from the class, but he explained that even though it was an organised test, it was still illegal to use quirks without a licence. Although the class doesn't think I'm weak anymore, they don't know I've become fitter without a quirk too, so they weren't expecting it when I got the second highest score, just below Katsuki by a few metres. The rest of the day went by normally until I got out of school at half 11 for an 'appointment'. As I was getting driven to the beach, my mom said that we needed to talk about my quirk and U.A after this. I was very curious, but we were almost there so I left it. I got out of the car and said bye to my mom, before walking down to the beach, and saw All Might. He then turned around and shouted out to me, then coughed up a small amount of blood.
"Young Midoriya, we agreed to meet here so that you can give me the notebook on villains, could you give it to me?" He boomed, "Yes, of course, but are you ok? You just coughed up blood, that's not a good sign you know." I said, handing him the notebook, and I saw him stop for a fraction of a second before saying something. "You know, since you have entrusted me with your notebook, I believe I can trust you with something myself, and that is my quirk.". He was a lot less loud now, then all of a sudden, smoke began to come off of him, and he deflated. "Though speculations that it was a power enhancer are somewhat true, it is far more than that. I was not born with this quirk, instead, it was handed down, and I am the eighth to be in possession of it. It is called, 'One for All', and was engineered to fight a single villain, though now is not the time for you to know about him." All Might was clearly not finished, but I interrupted him anyway. "Is it All for One?". The question shocked All Might, who was sure there was any information about him online, but this kid found out anyway. "How do you know about this villain, Midoriya? It was ensured that no information about him was let slip." I thought of something suddenly, then asked if I could phone my mom for a second, and even though he was a little upset by this, he agreed. "Mom. Is it ok if I tell All Might the truth about my quirk, after all, he is the number one hero, and needs to know everything about him because of that.". After a while, she eventually agreed to this. I thanked her and returned to All Might. "All Might, I have not been completely honest about my quirk. Years ago, my father had betrayed us after it turned out that he had faked his entire identity to us, he was the villain All for One.". Shocked by this, All Might slowly began to put pieces together in his brain. "Midoriya, this is serious. Are you in possession of All for One." His face was terrifying, even in this skinny form he has revealed to me. "Not really, but I do have a mutation on it, which changes it in the sense that it does not remove the quirk from another person, but there are a few prerequisites stopping me from gaining whatever I want.". I chose not to reveal the prerequisites to gaining a quirk, as he may think he has just given me his quirk, which he has. "Then it appears that the other point of this meeting is meaningless, as if these prerequisites are met with me, then you will be able to gain One for All." I was confused about what he was talking about, but he continued. "I saw you at the villain attack on the day that you spoke to me in that tunnel, and I was going to propose that you could be the ninth holder of One for All, because great heroes move before they even know what happens, sometimes damaging themselves in the process, and you showed great potential to be the next holder.". I felt like I was about to pass out, All Might thought I was as heroic as he was, he was thinking about giving me his quirk. Since he was planning on giving it to me, I may as well tell him I already have it. "All Might, I must inform you that the prerequisites have already been fulfilled, I believe I have One for All.". All Might thought for a moment before saying something. "You know, this may be a better decision than giving it to you manually, because if I were to do that, I would lose my power after only a year, so I think that I will only pass it on to you at the end of my career, just to continue tradition. But there is something you must know about One for All, your body is likely not strong enough to handle the power of it quite yet, I can see you are by no means physically weak, and this head start on training will likely make handling it be possible much sooner. Myself and my old teacher will teach you how to use One for All"
I could barely believe what was happening, I had the quirk of the number one hero, and he was offering to teach me. "I accept". As soon as I said this, All Might sighed in relief. "Good, I need a successor before this injury and age get the better of me.". I returned to my mom's car with All Might, and we explained everything that happened. She was shocked, but eventually accepted due to him promising to make sure I'm kept safe while under his watch. We drove home, and since it had gotten so late, I rushed to my bed, but received a message from Iida before I could fall asleep. 'Hello, my family will be coming with me, and they were curious if you could bring yours.'. I responded simply. 'Yeah, I'm sure they'll agree.'. "Izuku, you agreed that we were going to talk about your quirk, so that's what we're going to do. Now I know I have asked you not to reveal your quirk to anybody, but since you will be going to U.A, I'm afraid that won't be an option anymore. We're re-registering your quirk tomorrow, but due to the nature of it, we'll be doing it at the fancy hospital that you had it tested for in.". Then Inko was serious in a way she hadn't been in a while. "Also, make sure you are kind and honest to your fellow U.A students.". She then proceeded to go off on a rant about how I must be an angel to everyone at U.A.
A week passed by, and I was about to go to meet up with Iida. I was getting driven towards the restaurant, but then a large explosion came up from below the road ahead of us, and a villain jumped out the hole, holding a gun. There was smoke everywhere, and screams ringing out all around me, and my mom looked terrified. I activated One for All and my protection quirk, which resulted in me being incredibly difficult to damage, but not entirely immune to gunshots. I saw him point his gun toward a pedestrian, and before I knew it, I was off putting myself in danger again. I used the smoke from the explosion to hide my identity so I wouldn't be taken by police again, and ran at the man using a mix of a few quirks, and easily got him off his feet and paralysed him with the same quirk I used on the slime monster. I then dashed off and back into the car before anyone saw who saved them. After a few heroes showed up and found out an unseen vigilante had taken out the criminal, they eventually settled on helping the people who were hurt, and calling someone to quickly fix up the road. After all this was settled, mom and I went as fast as we legally could so we wouldn't be too late, and arrived there only two or three minutes after the time we set. We saw the Iida family waiting outside the door, who greeted us when they noticed us, Tenya Iida lightly reprimanding us for being late before we explained why. "We cannot thank you enough for saving our son Midoriya, he has always dreamed of going to U.A High, and we knew nothing would stop him from doing that!". 'He wants to go to U.A too?, I guess it is most kids' dreams, and his brother is a hero' "Oh, Izu here is also aiming for that, he's very good at utilising his quirk, and from what I have heard from Izuku, so is Tenya here, maybe they can get in the same class!". The praise caused Tenya to get slightly flustered, but he responded saying that it would be great if that was the case. We continued to talk for about an hour before we finished eating, and decided that we should both head home. Before they left, Iida shouted out to me. "Midoriya, I look forward to seeing you at the exams, and you may call me Tenya." I shouted back something along the same lines, and then we left.
After a few weeks of training with All Might and Gran Torino, I managed to get 5% of One for All flowing through my body for a prolonged time. The faster than I could believe, months flew by, I learned quite early on that I had to flow One for All throughout my whole body, not just a single limb, because it's inefficient, and that I shouldn't use anything above 20% or I'd break my bones. And then at some stage I realised something, One for All had an effect on other quirks and increased their power, but also had increased drawbacks if I overused them (eg. making a giant explosion and hurting my arm more severely, or more intense head pain after lifting something too heavy). I was told not to tell anyone but my mom about the powers, because One for All was still a secret to most of the world, but not to the teachers of U.A, I found out. Speaking of which, today was finally the day that I would take the exam with Katsuki, Tenya, and the other contestants. I rushed out the door and into the car, unbelievably excited for the exams, a strange few words to say in the same sentence, but these exams are different. When I got there, I stood for a moment, simply admiring the building that is U.A High. I began to walk forward confidently, before that confidence was shattered as I tripped, not a good way to start. Good thing I can float myself a little, or that would be bad, but before I could activate my quirk, I realised I was already floating, and I turned around and saw a brunette girl with a smiley face. "Hey, you ok? It'd be bad if you hurt yourself before the exam y'know.". 'Oh no, it was a severe weakness of mine, talking to girls.' "A- I- Um- I'm fine thanks.". The girl seemed a little relieved before speaking up again. "Hey, what's your name, mine's Ochako Uraraka!". Her extrovertedness was burning me from the energy she was radiating. "Oh, I'm um, Izuku Midoriya.". The nervousness in my voice was clear, but she seemed not to notice. I then used my quirk to lift myself upright, surprising the girl, who tapped her fingers together which let me down to the ground. The two of us started to walk towards the entrance to U.A as we spoke. "My quirk's Zero Gravity, what's yours?". I decided not to 'take' the quirks of anyone at the exam, because A: I didn't want to add anything I didn't fully know how to use to my skill set right before the exam started, and B: Because it felt weird, and since I was going to spend a long few years with those who got in, I wanted to ask permission from them. "Mine's Expl- 'I need to be honest now' - I mean, it's pretty hard to explain but, it's got a past I'm not proud of, so I might tell you when you get in.". This got a surprised look from them, "Well first of all, I probably won't get in, and second of all, tell me about it even if I don't, it sounds interesting, here's my number so we can talk about it later, here!". The girl scribbled down a set of numbers, and then gave it to me. "W-well, about the first thing, you will probably get in since your quirk sounds really fun. I'm assuming it removes gravity from something you touch with those pink pads on your fingertips, so if you removed the gravity from something heavy, you could use it as a weapon. And also…". I started muttering unconsciously, before she interrupted me. "I can't catch half of what you're saying, but, thanks for the advice! It's almost time for the speech, so let's go and get changed into our hero outfits in the changing rooms over there and get going to the hall, bye Izuku!". She then ran off into the women's changing room and I went over to the men's.
"OKAAAAAAYYYYYY EVERONEEEEE!". President Mic was giving the speech about the exam, but his voice was so loud that everyone near the front of the hall had to cover their ears. I noticed a purple haired girl with what looked like headphone jacks on her ears wearing 'sound-proof headphones', who was listening intently despite the fact they were apparently noise-proof. As he began to explain the scoring and that there were four robots, if the following were destroyed you get the amount of points assigned to the robot, 1, 2, and 3 points respectively. Then I saw Tenya stand up and shout to President Mic about how he mentioned there were four, but only listed three, going on about the professionality of U.A, and though I sort of agreed, he was clearly about to explain the four. "AHHHHH, I SEE YOU'VE NOTICED, THE FOURTH IS A ROBOT DESIGNED TO SEE HOW OUR ASPIRING HEROES WILL REACT TO SITUATIONS OF TRUE DANGER, DESTROYING IT GRANTS NO POINTS, AND IT IS AN OBSTACLE JUST TO BE AVOIDED". The speech finished up soon after that and everyone shouted the school's motto, "PLUS ULTRA!".
