We were all getting out of the building to go to the exams, the school had made an entire fake city. Everyone was looking at the city in awe, and I saw Uraraka looking pretty nervous, so I decided to go over to her, but before I did, two people came over to me. "Hey Deku! It's starting soon, and there's no doubt that the three of us can get in!" He motioned towards me and Tenya. "Yes, I am sure we will get in.". Just then, the doors opened and the three of us rushed in and started destroying robots, and everyone soon followed suit, like a sort of stampede. "REMEMBER, AS A HERO THERE PROBABLY WON'T BE SOMEONE TO TELL YOU 'GO!' WHEN YOU'RE SOLO!". I continued to break robots, using a mix of One for All, Explosion, and a few others, but then I heard an alert saying that the Zero Pointer was being released, and just then, the street in front of me was enveloped in shadow. I turned around to see a huge robot towering over the city, and people running away in fear. I was going to run away too, but then I saw someone familiar trapped underneath a piece of debris, Uraraka. As soon as I saw this, I rushed all the way to 20% One for All, and jumped towards the Zero Pointer, and the ground where I was standing cracked a little. I was flying through the air, and cocked back my fist, and let out a really large explosion using the boost from OFA. The top of the Zero Pointer was destroyed entirely, leaving the bottom to fall over, landing in the other direction. "THE EXAM IS OVER!". I was now falling, really fast, but I slowed myself down to where I was pretty much floating down. "That was incredible! Izuku, right? How did you do that, where you floated down, but also made an explosion?". She was clearly very excited, so I replied saying that I'd explain it to her over text when I got home, which seemed to be a fine compromise. I walked her to Recovery Girl, one of the best healers in the world, so good she can heal severe injuries on her own. She healed Uraraka who was injured in most places, since she was stuck under rubble, and I just showed her my slightly singed arm. Then Katsuki and Tenya practically burst down the door, and started talking about my stunt with the Zero Pointer at the end of the exam.
Eventually, it was time to go home, everyone eagerly waiting for their results, went home quickly. A little while after I got home, I heard the doorbell ring, and a letter was put through the letterbox. Me, Katsuki, and Tenya all decided to open our letters at the same time, and that we did. I opened it, and a hologram of All Might popped out. "I am here! In holographic form. Young Midoriya, you have not gotten the highest villain points, but you have gotten the highest total points, you passed! You see, it wasn't all about villain points, there were also rescue points, which you earned a lot of, by saving various people from robots, and from the Zero Pointer. Congratulations, this is YOUR Hero Academia!". We all told each other we passed, and I also got a message from Uraraka saying she passed, and that I had to tell her about my quirk now. I told her I also passed, and explained my quirk and its history, but left out the part about All for One being a supervillain. To my surprise, she didn't seem weirded out, but actually thought it was really cool, she also said I could call her Ochako. After that I told my mom that I passed, and she burst into tears.
Today was the day I'd finally go to U.A, and I was excited to see if I was in the same class as anyone I knew. As I got out the car and started to walk to to U.A, my mom waved bye to me with teary eyes. Since U.A has dorms, I might not see her for a while. I walked down the halls, looking for class 1-A, and when I found it, I saw a huge door, probably for people who have mutant type quirks. When I opened it, I was glad to see two friendly faces, but they were complaining to each other about Katsuki having his feet on the table. I said hello to the two of them, but noticed a sleeping bag at the teacher's desk. I poked it slightly to wake them up, and they rose up like something out of a horror film. "It took you all 3 minutes to notice me, while Midoriya did so in a few seconds, settle down. Let's get going by going outside, we're doing fitness tests. I'm Shoto Aizawa, your homeroom teacher.". It was a little sudden, I expected a greeting section to get to know each other, but I guess he's just a strict teacher. "Ok class, now do you remember the fitness tests you've done previously, well we're doing the same thing now but with quirks, oh and the person who gets the lowest average score will be expelled.". This brought outrage to most of the class, but Izuku was glad he was being generous, last year he expelled his whole class. "Ok, Bakugou, what's your furthest ball throw you've had before?". Now that I think about it, I recognize the teacher's name. I think that I've made notes on him before. "67 metres," Katsuki said. "Ok, now do the same but with your quirk." He pulled back his hand, then using a few techniques we worked on together, threw the ball with a massive explosion. Thankfully I told the headphone girl to cover her ears for me and Katsuki's. "1018 metres, impressive.". Everyone was shocked by the number, but then everyone else did the test, some notable ones being Ochako with Infinity and Tenya who kicked the ball a little over 600 metres. Then it was my turn, I activated OFA at 20% and my protection quirk, which got a few looks from some of my classmates, then used my mom's quirk along with Explosion for momentum, and let off an explosion in my palm. "5032 metres. That's a new highscore." Everyone in the class looked at me with awe, and then curiosity, except for Katsuki, Tenya, and Uraraka who knew my quirk. The rest of the tests progressed similarly, with me getting the highest score on all of them, and this purple haired guy called Mineta getting the lowest, except for side jumps. After we were done with the tests, everyone began to crowd around me asking what my quirk was. "Ok, since you're all so interested in Midoriya's quirk, how about we go back inside and introduce ourselves, also, Mineta's expelled. He isn't heroic in the slightest and I don't know how he even passed the exam.". This got some relieved expressions from the girls, and a few boys too. After we headed inside, we all introduced ourselves. "I'll go first, I'm Toru Hagakure, and as you can't see, my quirk is invisibility." She waved her arms around very energetically. The rest progressed similarly, until mine which was left till last. "Ok, so, my quirk hasn't got a good reputation at all, but it's All for One, not the same though! Just similar enough to have the same name!". This got a look from Aizawa, who clearly knew who AFO was."It's like a copy quirk, but without a time limit, and I can use more than one simultaneously, but I need to know the name of the person and quirk to use it.". The class then realised that it was in fact, a little overpowered. "Does that mean you have all of ours now?" Ashido asked. "Well, since we're all going to be around each other for a few years, I thought I'd ask for permission before doing that." A couple people looked a little relieved, and I heard a sigh from Hagakure. "That's nice of you, I didn't expect you to be a very good person, since you're so strong, and everyone I've met who's stronger than a certain point are kind of full of themselves, look at Endeavour for example. Also, don't use my quirk, you can't become visible.". After that situation, classes went by as expected, just doing normal subjects that we did in previous years. After all that was all over, we were led to the dorms, and shown to our rooms with the decorations we chose, mine obviously had a lot of All Might merch. We all said goodnight, then Ashido came up to me and asked if I could talk to them in the morning, which I agreed to. When I got into bed, I really realised how low of a chance all this was. Not only did I get into U.A, I got into the same class as all of my friends. Well, I think I'm friends with Ochako, but my point still stands.
I woke up to whisper shouting outside my door, I decided to listen in. "No, you cannot wake up Izuku, we must let him rest, U.A can be taxing on the body and everyone must rest as much as they can." I heard Tenya's voice saying, then I heard what I remembered as Ashido's voice saying, "But he said he'd talk to me about something this morning!" I decided to simply open the door to break up the argument. "Ah, good morning Izuku, Ashido here was wishing to talk to you, I will leave you to that." He marched off to the common room. "Hey, so you know how your quirk lets you use other people's? Well I was wondering if it gives the resistances that you need so it doesn't damage you?" She seemed to be looking forward to the answer. "Hey Ashido and yeah, it does, if it didn't I wouldn't have any arms from the explosions." It seemed that this was the answer she was looking for. "Ok that's great! So you're really smart, especially about quirks right? So I was wondering if you could use mine, and find new ways to use it. And call me Mina, I tried to get Iida to, but he refused." I thought for a bit, but double checked if I could use her's, then took it. Then I tried secreting a low acidity acid from my hand. "Wow, you really can use other people's, ok, got any ideas yet?" She seemed very overexcited, but I was trying my hardest not to stutter, which was taking up so much of my brain and I couldn't react too much. "I've only had it for a couple seconds, give me till the afternoon to find some things to do with it." And then she enthusiastically slid down the hall on some fluid.
After that, the morning progressed as usual, and I found that if you produce acid while flicking your finger, you can send it pretty far. The afternoon was different though, "I am here! Totally normally walking through the door." He was not walking normally. "You may have heard that I will be working here at U.A, and today we're doing heroics; Battle Training!" This got everyone excited, and we all went outside to a large building about 5 stories high. "In this exercise, there will be two teams, the heroes and the villains, the villains will have to protect a fake bomb, while the heroes have to touch it. And to decide the teams, we will be picking at random from a box!" The teams were as follows: A was Todoroki and Shoji, B was Ochako and Momo, C was Katsuki and Tenya, D was Mina and Aoyama, E was Kinda and Sato, F was Jiro and Kaminari, G was Tsuyu and Tokoyami, H was Toru and Ojiro, I was Sero and Kirishima, and J was, me? "I have placed Midoriya specially on his own because I believe he is strong enough, and also because there were odd numbers." That's a little unfair, but so am I… I guess it works. "Ok and we have selected one team as the villains and heroes, the villains are, Team C, and the hero is Midoriya!" Katsuki and Tenya were given 'good luck's on their way in to set up protection for the bomb. "And the challenge starts, now!" As soon as I heard the ok to go, I used Search to find where they were, and that gave me the bomb's location. I saw that Katsuki was approaching me, so I decided to hide to avoid conflict. Unfortunately for me, he saw me. "Why're you hiding!" He launched towards me, and even though he had improved a huge amount, I could still predict his attacks. I dodged the explosion, and remembered I had Acid, so I put some glue-like acid on his arms and stuck them to his sides. "So you got another one, isn't that the pink girl's? I thought you weren't using those?" He was definitely losing, but he kept his confidence the whole way. "They asked me to, so I could help figure things out with it." I then bolted off to the bomb, which I knew Tenya was guarding, so instead of going head on, I melted a hole in the wall behind the bomb, and touched the back of it. "Hero Team wins!" Tenya was confused, but then saw me behind the bomb, and congratulated me on my win, I then went to unstick Katsuki.
"Now, does anyone know who the MVP of that match was?" All Might shouted out to the class, Yaoyozoru made Jiro some earmuffs, then said, "It'd have to be Midoriya, he understands that you don't always need to rush into combat, and that staying undetected can be a huge advantage, and he used his quirks and natural skills in perfect synergy, which all together ensured his success." Toru was happy to see her skillset being praised, and I was reduced to a blushing, stuttering mess. I don't take praise too well, clearly. "Yes, of course, congratulations Iz-, Midoriya." The class wondered why he slipped up, and Todoroki came to a clear idea in his head. After the others had gone up, it was time for us to go back to our dorms, but I was approached by Todoroki. "Midoriya, are you All Might's secret love child?" He asked, completely seriously, while I was just confused. "Um, no? What made you think that?" He then looked slightly downcast, "It appears that my theory was false. But to answer your question, he slipped up during class, and almost called you by your given name, instead of your family name." That was a good point, hopefully no one else asks questions. "Oh, well, everyone makes mistakes, I'm a big fan and introduced myself to him as Izuku at a meetup. That's probably why." This seemed to be a good enough excuse for him, so he thanked me for the clarification, and left to go make new theories probably. Then before I went to bed, I got interrupted. Again.
"Y'know, Deku, you never told me as much about that strength enhancer as you did the others, and it seems awfully similar to All Might's, tell me what's up with that." Damnit, I knew someone would notice, and since me and him are both big All Might fans, of course he would. "I guess I owe you an explanation, come in and sit down." We went into my room, and I explained about the whole situation about how All Might chose me as a successor, etc. He looked a little annoyed. "How come you always get all the cool things to happen to you, first you get some crazy strong quirk, now you're All Might's successor? Why don't I get recognised by him, I'm better at using my quirk than you are, so why are you always so far ahead?" I felt absolutely horrible, now that I think about it, maybe I shouldn't have accepted All Might's offer, or taken his quirk. Maybe I should have just stayed using my mom's quirk, and gotten good at that instead of being so selfish. "You know you're muttering." Fuck "Don't be so hard on yourself, I'm kind of annoyed, but you just got lucky. I'm not annoyed at you, I'm annoyed at the difference in our luck." I felt a pang of guilt, not really realising the situation the two of us had been in these past few years, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel bad, I just want to be strong enough to keep everyone safe, no matter the cost. I want to be a symbol, that just because I have a villain-like quirk, I can be a hero, that inspires people who are like I was, people who hated their quirk, or afraid they would be hated for it." Then Katsuki laughed. "You know, I think I've found the difference between the two of us. All Might didn't choose you because you were powerful, he chose you because of things like that. You're really heroic, Deku, and that's what makes you stand out. You said you wanted to inspire people, well you've already succeeded with me, I think I'll try to be more heroic, and I'll beat you one day, cause no matter what happens, you'll never be better at my quirk than me. You made a mistake telling me all these different ways to use my quirk, I'll be the number one hero, and you'll be number two, night!" With that, he slammed the door and ran off to his room full of enthusiasm. Sheesh, that was stressful
