But I haven't discovered yet.
I'm so intent to find that's what it is.
"We need to get the both of you to a hospital. Right away." Karen announced.
"Why don't you meet us there Luke.?" Haley asked.
"Sure whatever they need." Lucas replied.
He watched as Brooke and their daughter were quickly dressed and being taken outside.
This would never of happened if she was home. The stress and turmoil he caused brought forward this early labor and delivery. He knew that without a doubt in his mind.
He didn't want anyone to make him feel better. This whole situation was a result of everything coming out at once.
Lucas left as soon as he could for the hospital. But first he stopped at home.
...
Brooke walked made her way through the hospital doors.
Her body weak and tired. She cradled their daughter securely.
"We need a wheelchair over here!" Rachel called.
Seeing Brookes legs shaking and her balance off.
She carefully was helped into the wheelchair. As her doctor came through the double doors.
"Help her! I don't care about me! Please!" Brooke exclaimed. Tears falling from her eyes.
"We will do what we can to care for the both of you." She reassured Brooke.
Handing the baby to one of the NICU nurses.
"We need to get you into a room and make sure. You're alright." She told Brooke.
Brooke nodded her head in agreement.
The doctor explained. As Brooke was taken and settled into the hospital room she had booked in advance.
"Full term for pregnancy was 37 to 42 weeks."
"She will have to spend 7 weeks in the NICU. Growing and developing. We'll monitor her. Get her strong and healthy. We can't test for HCM until she's older."
"Lucas had questioned about that. We are going to take the best care of her here. You. Lucas. And anyone else you want on the list can visit." The doctor explained.
Brooke breathed a sigh of relief. Knowing after a short hospital stay. Their daughter could go home.
"I brought the hospital bag. Everything was in such a rush." Lucas said.
Brooke's gaze landed on him. She wasn't sure what to feel regarding her husband these days.
"Congrats on being a father. You're daughter will need a short stay here with us in the NICU. After a few weeks she'll be home."
"The reason she wasn't crying or moving was because her body and lungs are under developed. I'll let the two of you have some privacy."
"You need to rest and recover." She advised. Looking to Brooke.
The doctor made her way out the door.
Lucas placed the hospital on the nearby chair.
"Why does anything that happens matter to you now.?"
"Especially when it involves me.?" Brooke asked.
You're my wife. I love you." Lucas replied.
"Those are just words Lucas. What about how you show it.?" Brooke questioned. The emotion in her voice thick.
"I've been reaching out to you for weeks with silence from you."
"What am i supposed to feel or think.?" Brooke added in.
"You're supposed to trust me! Why did you marry me then?" Lucas exclaimed.
"Why do smell alcohol on you're breath.?" "What the hell is going on.?" Brooke asked.
"I show up and you want more. I keep my distance and its a problem. I'm out of choices as to how to give you what you want.?"
"Why don't you just admit it us romantically being involved. The fight back then in Naley's wedding reception coat room."
"The fight we had before you left. I was nothing more then the ultimate rebellion against Victoria and Ted. "
"Admit it Brooke! No strings attached is all we should of ever been!"
"Marrying you was the biggest mistake of my life."
"You don't have feelings Brooke. You're an empty shell!" Lucas exclaimed.
"Get the hell out! I'm sorry for being such a burden to you."
"When all i ever did was try to love you support you and give you everything you said you wanted." Brooke proclaimed.
"What i wanted was under the clothes. I got that. We're good here." Lucas replied.
Brooke felt her heart sink. She turned and looked out the window as he left the room then soon the hospital all together.
