Dennis was having the time of his life! There he was, running across rooftops and the sides of buildings, warping between dimensions with every jump.

"Woohooo!" He leaped from on high, reaching halfway across a street and the moment he lost momentum did mentally activate his warp jump generator. A flash of light and he was gone from the world.

In that unreal dimension Edward calls the Warp, Dennis materialised. The eldritch properties and hostile denizens of the immaterium would have crushed and dissolved a normal human into screaming bits of warp stuff by now, yet the warp was way more calm than Edward ever experienced. It's still bad but Dennis's armour has been warded more than sufficiently against the more malevolent effects of the warp, and his mental strength and endurance enhanced by a ritual aspiring Warp Spiders are subjected to, tweaked by Edward to conform to a human's psyche. All this meant Dennis was unbothered by the Cthulhu-dinosaur-squid-thing rushing at him three squiggly circles from up, down and right, disintegrating with a hateful screech when it touched the shield put up by the ward of Banishment. An instant later he reappeared once again into reality, a burst of light heralding his appearance as he fell onto the roof of another, taller building on the other side of the street.

"Whew!" The redhead took that chance to stretch for a moment, looking with amusement as his arm cannons mimicked the upwards stretching of his flesh arms. "What a workout! A shame it wasn't daytime, oh man just imagine the looks of awe from the people on the ground." He finished, then looked around to get a bearing on his location.

"Let's see... I should be close enough to that all-night pizza place..." He checked the street below, then consulted the map projected in his helmet visor. "Aha, a couple more blocks straight down."

Dismissing the map, he prepared to do a running leap when he heard someone's scream from behind him, shortly followed by gunshots. Dennis, being the heroic guy he is, promptly forgot about the pizza and turned about, heading for the source of the scream. A quick tap of a rune on his chest and his body grew taller, his armour adjusting to his new size of an older, taller man.

"Don't want to be seen as a kid when I save a damsel in distress." He chuckled as he leaped. "I'm saving ladies before you Dean, eat your chivalrous heart out!"

He disappeared in another burst of light.

"Trevor, have I ever told you how much I hate your driving!" Vicky cried from her seat, recovering from being mushed against Brian when the Wave Serpent made an incredibly sharp turn.

"You did! Many times! And I do not care! Hah, this is great!"

Brian turned an accusing stare at Edward as he picked up the stun grenade he dropped. "I thought you already fixed the problems the inertial dampener had?"

Edward only gave him a slightly annoyed look, clear to see for he had yet to don his ghosthelm. "It was the dampeners on the cockpit that I fixed, Trevor was complaining of being pushed around in his seat the last time he did a spin. His armour protected his body from the effects but his control of the vehicle was hampered by it, and so I sought to fix that one first."

"Dean is probably laughing at our torment."

Eric grumbled, holding on tight to the armrests. Erica grunted with assent on her brother's words.

"He's too nice for that." Vicky told the twins with a pout Edward could feel behind her helm.

The Wave Serpent made another sharp turn, sparking further grumbles as it flew between the buildings, the black painted vehicle making nary a sound as it passed. Edward pat himself on the back for installing the camouflage emitter on the vehicle, leaving nothing but near invisible ripples of the vehicle as it zoomed past what persons remain out of a house at this time of night. They're usually those who partake in excessive use of drugs or drunk so the danger of discovery is very minimal.

"Drastanta here, I report the sounds of combat ahead, where you said the Spider would be." Dean, alias Drastanta, reported to the group via psy-caster. His voice was clear and crisp, the undertone of worry for his friend and determination felt by them all.

"Received, Exarch. Go ahead of us and glean more on the fight and the status of the Spider, render what aid you could give, we will not be long behind." The ghosthelm was donned, and now Eldrad spoke

"Understood, Farseer." The Shining Spear streaked away, his jetbike blazing a trail of light across the sky as he went ahead.

Eldrad nodded to his friends, his trusted companions in his new life here. This will be their first test of live combat, two years worth of time-accelerated training will be showcased tonight. Victoria's excitement, Brian's stoic confidence, Eric and Erica's calm tranquillity, and Trevor's delight, he let himself a moment to bask on their emotions, a quite pride filling his chest at their belief in him and their goals.

"My friends, this is only the beginning." He told them, eldritch light beginning to flow from his helmet's eyepieces. "We shall make of ourselves a legend that will shine like the very stars themselves."
