Ajax, thanks for the preliminary reading.

Venti hated Travelers between worlds. And he hated ordinary travelers too. The reason was more than serious. Venti is the soaring God of the winds but is tightly pinned to Mondstadt. But people can drive anywhere. This meant that if reincarnation did exist, and if Barbatos was reborn, then he can leave Mondstadt to anywhere. Barbatos has always wanted to see a world beyond the domain of the dark God Decarabian. He wanted to visit many worlds. His restless heart wanted to know the entire infinite universe.

But Barbatos died during an uprising against the tyranny of Decarabian. Venti became the God of the winds and the lord of the lands that belonged to Decarabian from an ordinary spirit of the air. And then Venti took on the appearance and name of his beloved, whom he had lost forever. In those moments it seemed to Venti that in this way he would make the memory of his lover live forever. And Venti went crazy with longing and pain, living in the divine world. Besides, it was very boring there — no taste of food, no relaxation from drinking, no pleasure from sex.

Venti thought that in human form, among people, it would be easier to survive the loss of the only one truly needed.

But everything went wrong. Instead of a tall, broad-shouldered guy, Venti turned into the boy that he, still a simple small spirit, who knew nothing about human flesh and sex, saw many years ago and was fascinated by his singing. Venti learned to turn into a boy and kick the ball across the field for the sake of Barbatos, then Venti became a young man and experienced incredible pleasure in the arms of his friend.

And now he is an eternal child, to whom all the pleasures that have long become a necessity are forbidden.

It was necessary to hide behind a huge illusion from a long cloak with a hood and wings for the appearance before the believers. And the name of his lover, which Venti had heard every ten steps for many centuries, lashed him like a whip — what kind of God is he if he could not save a human?! What kind of lover if he himself didn't die instead of his beloved? And what kind of memory, if no one associates the name "Barbatos" with its true owner?

Oh no, everyone knew about the friendship of the new God Mondstadt with a human, but they called him "Nameless Bard".

Venti understood that he had screwed in full.

And then some outside-worldly Traveler told about reincarnation. And Venti realized that even if Barbatos returned, he didn't stay in Mondstadt for a long time — what could be interesting for him here? Moreover, his name was subjected to shaking every second.

Therefore, Venti hates everyone who is associated with roaming in different parts. After all, they could have taken Barbatos away from him.

And Venti can't rush after his beloved, beg for forgiveness, prove his love, rekindle the passion in the heart of Barbatos. Venti belongs to Mondstadt, he can't survive without it.

Venti went mad with pain, again and again, century after century, experiencing the loss of his beloved.

No, he didn't kill the Travelers. That would be a foolish waste, and Barbatos disapproved of prodigality.

Therefore, Venti charmed the Travelers and used them to fulfill his wishes. If they survived, they could go wherever they wanted. And Venti's desires were directed only to the survival of Mondstadt — what else was left if you had the body of a child?

But one day a whitish frump appeared with strange, amber-colored eyes. She smelled of unfamiliar and incomprehensible magic — and Venti had seen many varieties of it, a lot of.

Frump didn't believe for a second that Venti knew all the songs of antiquity and modernity. She didn't say that the color of his eyes is like the sky in her hometown or some other equally stupid compliment. She didn't vow to immediately fulfill any of his desires if only he would call her his friend. Frump was only interested in the price of the deal. And she didn't like Venti's songs. "I've only heard him play once" was said in such a tone that anyone and everyone understood: the second time she doesn't want to hear it for anything.

Only the Barbatos and the Gods evaluated the singing of the Venti as bad in the entire universe, and his poems are talentless. Well, more werewolves from Wolfendom do it too. Barbara Pegg snorted condescendingly: "If he confines his vocals to songs of healing, then his anti-cold things work normally — even those that he made himself. And this is already a great achievement. Medicines aren't obliged to be tasty." But Barbara had a daddy of dubious, not quite human origin.

However, even the Gods didn't know that Venti sings and composes poems and music only in order to muffle the pain from the loss of Barbatos, at least for a moment to feel intimacy with him. And Lumine understood it instantly. And she immediately realized that Venti needed the "Holy Lyre der Himmel" only because it belonged to Barbatos. But it is just a lyre in itself, the same as everyone else. And that stealing the lyre was a test for Lumine, she also instantly guessed. And she demanded a good fee in the form of an increase in her magic.

As well Lumine was looking for her brother. Venti pulled out all the information about Aether from her — appearance, character, habits, favorite dishes and activities — and now he himself didn't understand whether he wanted to help her or kill her so as not to share the attention of Barbatos with his relatives. In addition, Aether is hardly interested in maintaining family ties... But Venti will not be able to meet with Aether without the help of Lumine.

There is no guarantee that Aether is the reincarnation of Barbatos. And even if Barbatos returned to this world, there is no guarantee that, absorbed by a new love, he will want to remember Venti and will return to him.

But Venti had hope for the first time in twenty-six centuries.

And Lumine could help him cut his connection to Mondshadt. Then Venti himself will be able to search for the reincarnation of Barbatos. Did the beloved want to travel around the worlds, to go through the entire infinite universe? Venti will regain his adult form and travel with him!

And let Teyvat burn with a blue flame, starting from Mondstadt. It was only now that Venti realized how much he hated the cage he'd been in for two thousand six hundred years.
