He was essentially the second coming of Yoriichi, as he was meant to be the antithesis of the Demon kins, the one destined to put an end to Muzans cruelty and bring balance back to the world. And yet in this Alternate reality, Tanjiro didn't become a Demon Slayer, in a twist of irony, the gear of fate that should have made him join the path of a Slayer, was countered because of his own power.
So how did the world achieve balance despite this miscalculated unpridisiment?
Well, it was a simple fix, if Demons were too scared of the Kind-hearted boy; the world would plague its chosen with constant misfortunes; that would eventually lead him to a rather passive-aggressive individual. If Tanjiro was the world's Chosen, then this poison butterfly was his chosen.

"Ahh... Finally, finish."
Kamado Tanjiro said with a happy smile on his face, as he finished sharpening his father's collection of twenty different Axes and several different machetes he had in his old workshop where he created charcoal to sell in the village to provide for his family.
This was something his father Tanjuro Kamado did every now and again, seeing that dealing with coal was a job that require a lot of cutting and a lot of burning.
Tanjiro's routine in his daily life consists of cutting down several trees and shaping them up to place them in the furnace that restricts oxygen from entering; while it burns the moisture out, along with other elements. The process takes about an entire day to complete.
But the trade-off would be the daily bread that brings him and his family food on the table, the hustle was real, but the struggle was even more real.
Tanjiro immediately after sharpening all the tools in his workshop, began to leave the coal in the furnace to burn, as he wasted no time in chopping more wood on the eve of the night.
This wasn't a hard task for him; the cold didn't affect him in the slightest, and the darkness wasn't even bothersome like others believed it to be.
No Tanjiro Kamado had a secret he hid from others, or more like no one believed him apart from his father and his mother... It was a secret that could even be called his first memory.
He could see things, things that no normal human being can see; the color of life, yes the color of the soul was what he saw.
Life was everywhere and their colors were vibrant, to Tanjiro the snow was nothing but colorless outlines, while the trees around him had glowing blue veins taking their shapes, then animals such as birds were like red flames, deer or any other land creature were either a darker blue or green.
Meanwhile, humans were different, depending on their nature, and behavior every one had a unique color, and their souls were like fire, although with time fire dies out inevitably.
As a person gets older, starting from a baby to their journey into adulthood their souls burn the brightest it has ever been as if to signify that their life was at its prime; however, after hitting the age of forty those flames slowly start to diminish into nothing.
Although there was some exception; you see when a person is sick; their flames can burn out, or even just jumpstart themselves when they are healed.
Flames could even leak out rapidly when a person is injured to the point death was inevitable; however, like trees when you cut them down, their flames never run out, until they are physically burned.
This was exactly what Tanjiro was seeing at the moment, it has only been thirty minutes since he came out here, but in those thirty minutes, he had already cut down twelve large trees, each with a single slice from his axe.
This wasn't tiring for him at all; no it was the exact opposite; thanks to his father showing him a unique breathing style, he could move more efficiently without wasting stamina needlessly.
The Hinokami Kagura had a total of thirteen dance styles; they weren't easy to master or so Tanjiro's father told him; however, Tanjiro mastered it long before his father taught him; it was a beautiful dance, one so majestic he couldn't wait till he was a little older to replicate the movements of such beautiful dance.
Often at night, when he was younger, about the age of seven, he would sneak out just to imitate his father's elegance when he attempt the Hinokami Kagura, he would dance for three hours straight every night nonstop till the age of fourteen.
He dedicated seven years to mastering the Hinokami Kagura dancing styles.
. First Form: Dance Form of Sun Breathing.
. Second Form: Clear blue sky
. Third Form: Raging Sun
. Fourth Form: Fake Rainbow
. Fifth Form: Fire Wheel
. Sixth Form: Burning Bone, Summer Sun
. Seventh Form: Sunflower Thrust Form
. Eight Form: Solar Heat Haze
. Ninth Form: Setting Sun Transformation
. Tenth Form: Beneficent Radiance
. Eleventh Form: Dragon Sun Halo Head Dance
. Twelfth Form: Flame Dance Form of Sun Breathing
. Thirteen Form: All dancing forms combine
The years would go by, but Tanjiro couldn't reach perfection in the style, yes every time he does it, each dancing style he does practicing with the traditional seven-branch swords comes out faster, stronger, and better than the last; that was for sure, but he couldn't reach his Zenith.
The peak of the mastery, maybe he wasn't good enough or he took his father's words for granted, the Hinokami Kagura was not an easy dancing style to master, even his father didn't master it to perfection but was able to reenact all thirteen forms to some extent. Hell, he was confident that he might have come close.
Albeit fate was never kind to Tanjiro, he lost his father due to an incurable disease, his mother was very sick as well and died right behind his father, and finally, two of his younger siblings died of a bear attack when he wasn't around.
What was once a happy family of eight was now reduced to a struggling but still happy family of four; albeit there was but one issue; that four would soon turn into three if he didn't make enough money to buy medication for his youngest sibling.
Takeo Kamado was experiencing the same sickness that his mother was experiencing, his skin began to form blisters all over, it would start from his toes and go up to his body slowly, and these blisters suck the life force out of him.
Tanjiro knew this; but no one would believe him though, because every time he does this he would be labeled as insane, he could see these sores were not just on the surface of his brother's body, but also on the inside as well, they were slowly sucking the flame of life from him.
It was a painful end; he and Nezuko knew this better than anyone else, after all, he was forced to watch his mother scream in constant agony due to the pain, and for three months straight at that, it got so bad that when it reached her lungs and heart, she even ask for him to kill her.
Of course, Tanjiro couldn't do it.
At this point, Tanjiro was convinced that his entire family was cursed by God or something else, there were some nights when Tanjiro questioned if his gift to see the soul and life force of others was offered to him at the price of what he loved the most.
"Take it back, I don't want it, please... Just save them, m-m-myyy family they did nothing wrong, I didn't even ask for this power... *Sob* pw...pwleaeese... Ju... *Sob!*... Just take it back. Save them, just save them."
These were the words of Plea he recited, who was it for; well at this point anyone that was hearing.
Tanjiro was at his lowest when his brother caught his mother's disease.
"Why was this even happening to them?"
"What did they do wrong to even receive the judgment of God's wrath?"
Tanjiro asks that question to himself every day, but no one answered him, he was in a state of constant depression; to the point, it affected his coal-making.
He would go to local village doctors, but they say it was beyond them as they don't know what it was; that and the fact that they pleaded with him to stop bringing Takeo as it runs the risk of them catching the disease as well.
There where of no help, but he couldn't blame them, they have a family as well, and he was no different.
However, at the prime of his despair, a kind old man told him of a miraculous doctor in Asakusa by the name of Lady Tamayo. In his last hope, he went on a journey to seek Tamayo; but after running across Japan due to lack of funds to purchase a train ticket.
His search was in vain, no matter how hard he tried to look for this mysterious doctor he couldn't find Lady Tomayo anywhere.
So as last minute resort, he found some other Doctors in other villages, but they said they need funding and lots of it; for medication and equipment as this disease was unlike anything they have ever seen.
But how could a mere coal maker like himself who was struggling to barely make the bare minimum for his family to survive even dream of getting enough money to form an entire team of skilled doctors to assist his dying brother?
It was impossible, but he had to do it somehow; he was even more motivated when he heard what Nezuko suggest to him.
Those words were like a bullet to the brain; he could never forgive himself if his sister actually went through with it.
"B-B-Brother I-I... I was thinking; that I could maybe become a courtesan... So we could rai...
*SLAPPPP!*
That day was the first time Tanjiro felt genuine anger and disappointment; to the point, he didn't know we were to direct that anger towards...
Nezuko was left silent as she holds her cheeks. Tears slightly coming from her eyes.
"I-Im... Sorry. I just wanted to help."
He looked at Nezuko with both shame and regret, but this shame and regret were not aimed at her. No, it was aimed at himself. How could he fail his family like this? As the oldest, it was his responsibility to fend for his siblings. In thick and cold, in sickness and in health, his commitment to their well-being should be that of a marriage of sorts.
Till their old enough; He couldn't leave them behind. It was at this moment Tanjiro decided that he wouldn't let them cry anymore. He couldn't face Nezuko after what he did, however, he said to her.
"Sorry. You don't have to worry I will get the money... Just watch after Takeo... You don't have to worry, everything will be alright."
Tanjiro's plan was simple; selling coal in this village was not profitable, so he decided to sell coal in other local villages as well.
That's why he was working so hard at night. Nezuko had been on his mind all week, he fears if he leaves for too long she would do something stupid behind his back.
Maybe he was too paranoid, but he couldn't let his sister do that; could you imagine a fourteen-year-old girl spreading her legs for some random stranger, prostitution was an honest living in the eyes of the people. But Tanjiro couldn't agree to it, despite Nezuko having the age of consent which is 13 in this Era it was still too much.
And the same goes for his other siblings; his mother would agree with him, there was a time when a famous Samurai came into the village just to see Nezuko and offer a high bridal price for her; Mother didn't think twice to refuse the Samurais offer.
*Sigh* "With this amount of trees, I could most likely harvest a total of 80lb of coal to sell."
"Sadly I only have one furnace, or the production rate could have been twice."
Tanjiro said, as he tied all the giant trees together and began pulling them as if it was as light as a twig.
This method was both quick and easy for Tanjiro, his small wooden shack about two miles away from where he was; but this weight was nothing to him.
If normal people saw this, they would think he was some kind of monster in human flesh, if the corps saw this they would think he was a Demon; essentially this was Tanjiro's base strength with no breathing technique to assist him.
But his father and mother made him grow up with the excuse he is just a little stronger than most.
But regardless of that, it wasn't long before he reaches back at his shack, his lamp still burns its embers and the furnace was still burning.
"By the looks of it, the first batch won't be finished till tomorrow morning; oh well... Let's just shape the tree out, and make it so it could burn all day tomorrow; so when I come back I just have to repeat the process once more."
From there Tanjiro took his father Axe and began to hack away at the tree cutting it to bits and chunks in a manner of minutes, it was done so elegantly, too bad no one was here to notice the flashy scene.
"Good, It's almost finished, all that is left is to pile them all up, and from there I will call it a night."
A couple more minutes had passed and Tanjiro made two large piles of oak wood.
"I think I can finally call it a night; tomorrow going to be a long day after all."
To be continued.
Next Time: Why are you always apologizing?
