Chapter One: "Space"

Sometime in 2018

Jason was aggravated recently with this mission.

Talia al Ghul had acquire information that The Light was going to sabotage the launch of an experimental light-speed spaceship that STAR Labs and other organization had made together. If it was successful, mankind would officially be able to join the rest of the universe, becoming a part of their society, sharing tech and monetary system. To which the human supremacists of The Light did not want.

As the Red Hooded Ninja, Jason Todd had infiltrated the launch site where the ship was located, the scientists working their calculations and the pilot training for the flight. The Justice League were rumored to be on site just in case of an emergency, which he was working to make sure didn't happen.

"A lot of guards", he noted before moving to a janitor's closet. Once inside, he changed into a spare uniform and grabbed some cleaning tools. Leaving the room and making his way through the facility as carefully as possible, pretending to clean whenever he came across some people.

Jason has now arrived at the hangar where the spacecraft was stored. The ship itself looks straight out of a movie or cartoon.

Suspiciously, no one else was in the room. Jason looked around and saw no scientist, engineer, or even an actual janitor in the area.

Jason began to search his surroundings for anything out of place before he heard a voice.

"So Talia sent her little lapdog to protect the launch huh", a voice sounded from a platform above the ship. Jason looked to see a blonde man wearing purple and black outfit with hockey inspired armor and mask with various sporting equipment weapons. This was Sportsmaster aka Lawrence Crock, father to Jade Nguyen and Artemis Crock, still technically husband to Paula Crock. He is an on-again-off-again hire of The Light.

"If it isn't everyone's least favorite sporting salesman", Jason snarked, pulling out his ninja sword hidden within the janitor uniform, jumping up to the platform and swinging at the deadbeat.

The blond man growled as he blocked the blade with a metal bat. They continued to swing and clash before Jason went to sweep the leg. Sportsmaster jumped and did an overhead swing to

Jason's head, that he in turn blocked with the sword.

He pushed up and back against the bat, before swinging at the older man's arm. Sportsmaster barely avoided it but his bat was knocked out of his hand, bringing out his hockey stick weapon to replace it.

The duo continued to clash their weapons before Sportsmaster used the blade of his hockey stick to hook around Jason's sword and take it out of his hands.

Jason then grabbed one end of the Hockey stick and went in close to attack Sportsmaster headon. The supervillian blocked with his armored left arm before grabbing his Cricket Bat and swung at the janitor disguised man.

The cricket bat struck him and sent Jason over the edge of the platform into the open cockpit of spacecraft and accidently pressing some buttons.

"Launch sequence activated", the computer of the ship says as the cockpit hatch seals shut. Jason begins looking at the switches and buttons.

"Well so long kid", Sportsmaster calls out to him as the launchpad now aimed the ship up to the sky through the now open roof. He went to grab an explosive puck to destabilize the ship before hearing the computer continue.

"Ten seconds to launch", the synthetic voice calls out. Sportsmaster quickly realized he should just leave the area, especially since alarms were going off and the facility workers now knew something was going on. He makes his escape while Jason was trying out each of the buttons, hoping he doesn't blow up.

"10... 9... 8... 7... 6...", Jason was suddenly having a flashback to when he died and the bomb was counting down as he buckled up, "5... 4... 3... 2... 1... 0, launching".

The ship began it's left off, flying out of the room where it once was.

"Someone call the Justice League!" a voice shouted through the intercom of the facility as the spaceship continued its ascent. The relatively small craft rapidly left Earth atmosphere in only seconds. Jason looked out into space as the night sky seemed to gain more stars.

He held onto the steering wheel of the spacecraft as he looked around and spotted the Justice League Watchtower. He saw what looked like Superman began to fly to him before the speed of the ship picked up and a wormhole opened in front of him, to which the craft entered and the portal closed just before Superman got there.

Later, Deep in the Reaches of Space

Jason's ship malfunctioned as he now drifted through the void of space. This went on for what felt like days as he suffered from hunger and dehydration. Before a dark brown alien ship crossed his path.

This was the Ravager Ship of Yondu Udonta. The ship pulls the smaller craft to onboard into a hangar or storage where a group of various aliens.

"Well this should give us a decent payday!", a voice sounded out through the room. This was the Ravager leader, Yondu Udonta. He was bald humanoid with blue skin, pointy ears, and a white goatee. He has a short red cybernetic mohawk embedded in his head along with scars and other markings. He wore a black pirate ensemble with a burgundy leather, fur lined trenchcoat. (MCU Telltale)

"Looks like a passenger or pilot is still inside, boss!", said the most human looking of the Ravagers as another one was prying at the hatch to the craft. He was a skinny caucasian and had his hair styled in a wide spiky mohawk, wearing a full burgundy leather outfit. This was Kraglin Obfonteri, Yondu's most loyal among the Ravagers.

"We should just throw him off ship" one of the more brutish members yelled out.

"Kill Him!" one called, "EAT HIM!", a more monstrous one yelled.

Yondu looked at the unconscious young man in the ship in his hangar.

"Just put the kid in the brig for now, I want to have a word with him when he wakes", Yondu states before ordering a duo to take him to the brig, "And he better be in one piece!".

Some Time Later

"Ugh", Jason groaned as he regained consciousness from the hunger and dehydration to see unfamiliar surroundings. Laying on a metal slab/bed in the far corner from the door, he sees metal walls of dirty greens and greys, the metal door was the only official way out. It was a completely grey metal with a barred rectangle gap about eye level, there was a panel with buttons to the right of it, probably for communication and opening it.

Jason got up and quickly made his way to the door. He looks out the bars to survey the area outside, right before a brown scaly six-eyed tentacle alien dropped from the ceiling in front of him.

"Shit!", Jason shouts in surprise and backs up a little, "Disgusting". He sees a vent next to the

bed and pries it open and goes to crawl in before a giant leech like creature jumps out. Jason quickly catches it, with the creature struggling in his hands, "What the fuck!"

The tentacle alien groans and takes out one of his eyes from his socket and opens the door to help him but once it was open, Jason trow the creature into his face. As he screamed, he dropped his loose eye from his hand tentacle.

Jason runs out into the hall, before quickly backtracking to get the fallen eye, "Seriously dude, your eye is a key?", grabbing and running down the hall. he ends up at the farthest door and uses the eye to open it while the tentacle alien finally got the space leech off and chased after Jason with a snarl.

Jason runs through the door and closes it just before his alien pursuer could reach him. "Gross, but useful he remarks about the eye before storing it on his utility belt and taking off the janitor uniform he was still in. He checked his gear and quickly remembered that he lost his sword back on Earth.

He appeared to be around some cargo before three more aliens of various species. What pissed Jason off was that one of them seemed to wield a crowbar as they prepared to fight him.

"Well, bring it on then, you sci-fi rejects", he growled. He kicks the one with the crowbar before taking it to use as a weapon, the irony wasn't the lost on him. He swings a few times at the other two before the tentacle alien manage to partially open the door and grabbed the crowbar arm. Jason then used all five of his fingers to poke the alien's five remaining eyes, causing the alien to scream and let go of him.

The three in the room with him charged, but he knocked down all of the with one swing to their heads with the crowbar. With them down and the one tentacled one still trying to get in, Jason began running deeper into the ship, trying to find an escape pod or something.

Suddenly he heard a high pitch whistle and looked to see something rapidly approach him. He was barely able to dodge but the whistle was changing pitches and tones, causing the arrow to chase him. he was ducking and weaving but it was to fast and pinned him to a wall by his clothes.

The whistler appeared, revealed to be Yondu. He spoke in an alien language before he put something on Jason's ear, while he was cautious of the blue man before him.

"Be better to listen with this universal translator", Yondu says to Jason with some aliens behind him, "Don't mind my men, they never had Terran before, but you're far valuable for that. Got to say though, I'm impressed with you handling them so easily, even if it's disappointing my crew were so helpless against a thirsty, hungry child".

'I'm 19 years old, dude', Jason thought as he listened to the blue skinned man.

"What do you mean valuable, Yondu? You holding out on us?", asked one of the aliens who had a somewhat feminine voice.

"Probably wants to keep the bounty to himself", the shark man one states.

"Bounty?", Jason inquired.

"You scuts got it all wrong.", Yondu says as he received his arrow and brought Jason along with him, "We Ravagers are like family."

The tentacle alien that lost his eye to Jason came through a door, "Who said we were Ravagers", before he grabbed ahold of Jason was his tentacles, "Toss him out the airlock boys", he told the other three to do to Yondu.

They rushed him while Yondu whistled to defend himself with his arrow but was tackled before he could attack.

Jason freed one of his arms from the tentacles stabbed the crowbar into one of the alien's eyes, "Bye-bye, eye", he snarked as his captor screamed.

"The prize is getting away", called the feminine voiced one as they held Yondu in a nelson hold. The other two began to chase Jason, causing him to doge them.

Yondu jumped up in the hold to grab the back of his captors head before using the momentum to flip them before him and punched their face, knocking out the captor. Yondu then went to help Jason, whistling to launch his arrow at them, killing all the other attackers.

Jason held the crowbar to Yondu, "Alright, now take me home", before Yondu whistled the arrow before Jason's head.

"You may have saved my life in a way but don't think you can be giving orders around here", Yondu says as he disarmed Jason of the crowbar and tossed it away.

"Can I ask what they meant by a bounty?", Jason asked, careful of the arrow before him.

Yondu grabbed his arrow and put it in its custom pocket within his jacket, "I never mentioned a bounty, just that you were valuable. You're Jason Todd, son of Catherine Todd, right?"

"How did you...?", Jason began to ask, bewildered on how he would know him.

"Name's Yondu Udonta. You're mother and I met when I went to Terra. She and I were pretty great friends while I was there. She eventually trusted me with taking care of you should anything happen to both her and Willis, but by the time I found out she died of her cancer, Willis was shived in prison. I made my way to Terra only to find out you were killed in some terrorist act, but since you are now here before me, I guess that was a lie."

Jason was depressed when hearing of his mother dying of cancer, she was forced to resort to illegal drugs since it was the only thing she could afford to relieve the pain which caused others to ridicule and humiliate her, but she still loved him and tried her best to take care of him.

"Um, so why did she want you to take care of me?", Jason inquired after clearing his throat.

"When I asked her that very same thing, she said she wanted you to be raised among the stars just like your dad", Yondu replied as he now walked away, causing Jason to follow.

"Wait, Willis...", Jason said as he kept pace before being cut off by Yondu.

".. wasn't ya daddy. Just your mother's close friend, they didn't meet till she was a couple months pregnant with ya. He took her last name so he could hide from his own ma", Yondu informs, "Your daddy was some other off worlder like myself but she couldn't ask him to care for you since she couldn't contact him or anything."

Jason considered what Yondu told him about his mother, to learn she knew aliens and that his real father was one as well was a shock especially since he himself appears completely human, though it might explain why she sometimes referred to him as her Star-Lord, but he knew to consider something else, "How do I know your not lying to me?"

"I may be a space pirate as you might say, but I'm a man of my word. What I say, I do. I keep my promises." Yondu responds, "And I have no reasons to lie about your mom to you."

Jason seemed to sigh and consider his offer to travel the universe, wondering if this was what his mother really wanted for him. He thought of Talia and little Damian before thinking of Bruce, the Team, and The Joker

"Fine", Jason says, "I need to get away from Earth anyway, and if my mother really wanted this, I might as well try".

"Alright kid, I'll show you to a bunk and introduce you to the crew tomorrow", Yondu smiled before reaching a mostly empty bedroom. It was small with just the basics, like a bed and private shower.

Jason entered an Yondu left him alone. Jason sat on the bed before reaching into his outfits and pulled something from a secret pouch on his person. it was a 2009 Sony Walkman X. His mother had gotten the newest one for him on his tenth birthday, because she liked Sony Walkmans and knew she was going to die soon with it being her final gift to him. When he came back to life, he had snuck back to Gotham and retrieved this, the item he values most in the universe.

Jason saw a tray of what he guessed was food and something to drink, left by Yondu or someone else since he was without it for days.

After eating it, choking down the more unique and foreign food, Jason laid down in the bed to get some more sleep.

He would dream of an old man in robes sitting on a throne, with whispers of Star-Lord echoing.

3 Years Later

Jason has been with Yondu and his Ravagers for a few years now. He also wore a Ravager outfit. It had brown boots, burgundy leather pants, fingerless brown gloves, grey muscle shirt, and a burgundy overcoat with some armor on the left arm. He also gained a satchel for carrying more stuff or for things to big for his pockets.

They were currently looking through ruins and a desolate planet for anything to sell or that they could use at a later date

They split up with Jason heading into a more destroyed area, "Seriously? Are we ever going to find anything good on this rock". He continued to an inclosed space before the floor gave way, "Ahh!", he yelled as he fell. Vines and dirt helping to break his fall. Once on stable ground, he looked up and knew he had no way up to the hole.

He was now in an underground hallway, he looked down to each end as he was unsure of which way before just deciding to go to his left. He hoped to find a way out.

He continued down the dark path with only his light guiding him.

Eventually, he came to a wide open room. Not much was in the room, but some kind of crypt or stone chest, kind of like obsidian. Approaching it, he sees a symbol on the lid. It looked similar to a golden outlined fireball or falling star.

Investigating further, Jason carefully pushed the lid open to find a suit, a helmet and two blasters.

First was a militaristic navy blue suit with some yellow accents. The boots and gloves were a similar golden yellow. White stripes went from the gloves to the shoulders. A white straps connected over his chest and back, the front looking like an H and the back an X. It came with a rather big golden belt with a golden sun/star buckle. It also had golden holsters for the guns. Finally was a small pin on the left chest that was the same golden falling star symbol as on the lid.

Then the helmet, which had a navy blue dome similar to old british police/military officer hats with a golden outline and the falling star symbol on the forehead. The rest was shades of grey around the face and ear sections with what looks like air canisters along the jaw. The eyes and other lines on the face section glowed an orange-yellow.

There was also two white blasters with black triangle decals. They had black grips and two barrels each, one above the grip and one below it, the barrels had a purple glow near the muzzles.

Despite being sealed within for who knows how long, the suit, helmet, and guns were in pristine condition.

"The suit looks a little ridiculous but the helmet and guns look cool", Jason says as he then carefully takes the helmet out of the box.

Looking it over and about to try it on, it dematerialized into an earpiece similar to a hearing aid or his first universal translator, as he later got one installed internally. he then puts the earpiece n his right ear and then pushes the big button. The helmet then materialized around his head. It was vacuum sealed but he could still breath without problems.

"Awesome!", he cheered. he looked the the eyes as it had an orange-yellow Heads-Up Display.

"I wonder what its capabilities are?", Jason says before a screen appeared on the HUD saying Capabilities with three options, Helmet, Suit, and Blasters. He chose the Helmet option first.

The Helmet could only do a bit more than usual. It was able to retract and become the earpiece, filter the air so he can breath in toxic environments, an oxygen supply and pressure support so he can survive in space and underwater, and it also had its own universal translator for both audio and visual needs, meaning he could both hear and read all languages.

He then went to the suit option, which had its own surprises. It was thermo regulated allowing travel through hot and cold spaces like space, it could also enhance the wearers physical abilities allowing super strength, speed or durability. It could also allow the user to fly and traverse space under its own power. Hell, it had a personal energy shield for added protection.

Finally is the guns, or the Elemental Blasters as the helmet called them. They were capable of basic plasma or stun shots but also shoot fire, ice, water, wind, lightning, and more. They could also absorb various energies. It could also do minor shape changing, forming melee weapons similar to brass knuckles.

"Oh ho ho ho ho ho! This is so cool!", Jason exclaims in excitement, "Let's get out of here, my new toys".

Jason then put on the suit as well while putting his normal outfit into the satchel and holstered the Blasters. He made his way back to the hole he fell from and flew with the suit back to the surface. He quickly put on his previous outfit so the Ravagers wouldn't know about it, as they would fight him for it or just try to kill him, and made his way back to the ship.

Chapter End

AN: I decided to have a Star-Lord Jason Todd because I think they have a few similarities. Like having twin guns, a cool helmet and usually wearing some kind of leather jacket

Also, their full names are Peter Jason Quill and Jason Peter Todd, which I found funny.

The origin is a combination of various others like the original, the cartoon, Telltale series and others.

The next chapter will take place another 3 years later when Jason is 25 years old (meaning in the year 2024-2025) and the events leading to the Guardians being founded happen.
