"What is that lovey smell?" Tikki asked, as she stuck her little head out of Marinette's purse. "The flower shop is close by. Did you want to look at the flowers?" Tikki nodded, happily.
Paris had been blanketed by snow and it had only just begun to warm up. Marinette liked going to the flower shop too, for it was peaceful and calming and she liked to sketch here. "Marinette, what are big pink flowers over in the corner?" Tikki asked. "Those are Chrysanthemums. There one of my mother's favorite flowers."
Marinette walked over to the flowers, touching them gently a soft smile on her face. Sabine Cheng was one of the kindest and bravest people she knew. Even if she didn't know her daughter was Ladybug, Mama always had a snack and a hug waiting for her and Cat when they came to the bakery.
"This reminds me of Mama," Marinette told Tikki. "She has a quiet and gentle personality, but she can be loud for justice and standing up for what's right." "Are you going to get her the flowers?" her little Kwami asked. "Yes."
After purchasing the flowers, Marinette got her favorite coffee at the corner coffee shop, and sat down at a table, pulling out paper and pen.
"Your always there when I need a hug,
Giving me good advice when I get fired up into a little red bug.
You took Cat and I in like we were your children, loving us conditionally.
You inspire me to never give up and always do my best.
Sometimes when I do my Lucky Charm, I think of you, clever and creative.
Thank you for being Mama Cheng, and I love you."
Ladybug
When Ladybug transformed and got to the bakery, Cat was sitting at the counter with a plate of cookies and a glass of milk. "Hey, Bugaboo. What's that you have there?" Before she could answer, Mama came back out from the kitchen.
"Ladybug! Hello, dear!" Ladybug gave her gift and note shyly. "My Kwami saw these flowers and I thought of you."
Sabine read the note, her eyes filling up with tears. "Thank you, Ladybug. Its an honor helping you and Cat. After all, superheroes need mothers too."
Later, as Ladybug sat on a rooftop, she smiled to herself. She was lucky to have a wonderful Mama that loved her even with a mask.
