Rainy night

"Why? Why did he have to go like this?"
Bell Cranel cried at his grandpa's tombstone, his tears invisible to the world due to the rain.

"If only I were stronger, if only I were there!"
Bell cranel's grief grew stronger; the only outlet for his emotions were his tears, which didn't stop falling. He only wished to get stronger to protect those he loved and those who loved him.

"Power; I can provide such a thing."
A sweet and calming female voice spoke. Bell quickly looked at the one who spoke those words, surprised.

There stood someone, hidden by the mantle of darkness.

"Come closer"
A hand came out of the darkness, reaching out to bell.

Bell cranel walked towards the voice; curiosity hid his sadness for now. As Bell came closer, the woman's hand grabbed Bell's chin, lifting it up.

"What power do you desire? Mental fortitude, the strength to crush your foes, the resilience to defend what you love, or maybe a charming appearance to never have an enemy in the first place?"
The voice calmed Bell Cranel down, and the tears he shed now slowly stopped falling from his globes.

"I... I don't know, I just don't want to be as weak as I am."
Bell spoke with a lack of confidence.

"I will gift you the power of my children, human, wherever you go, the moonlight will shield you, the blood of those who hate your kind will feed you, and the fortitude of your arms will carry out your will. For now, you are one of the children of Nix, a vampire."
With the speech done, she closed his eyes. He felt a sharp pain on his neck. He flinched at the pain as he felt his blood being drained. He slowly faded into unconsciousness, with the last thing he heard being

"Hide from the sun's tyranny, child."
