Why a year? Demigods have so many advantages, I need a reasonable amount of time to give my oc a fighting chance... even the weakest demigod starts off super strong, faster, durable and they all heal faster. Some more so than others, I needed a realistic time to develop.

I am sorry for the change, but the last story sucked bad. All tell and no show...

Six months of magical training later

"Merry Christmas Hecate... " Rowan beamed, sitting back in his own apartment. It was so easy, after six months of magical training, he was still amazed at what he could do. Manipulating people's mind to get an apartment, free food and so on was almost effortless. To make spells last, he needed a magical anchor, so he created spell bags and stuffed them in people's clothes, home and so on until the spell bound to the person. Sure it required recasting every so often, but still it was useful. " I am eternally grateful for all I have. That being said, I am almost seventy five percent done with my grimoire, it is time that I move onto more things... I can only remaster things for so long. By summer, I think I will need to get access to more things in order to make my way as a sorcerer, witch... whatever I am. If you can help with that, please do."

There was no answer, there never was, but he still hoped someone was listening...

Pulling out his grimoire, he moved to one of the final lessons. "I still cannot believe this is just a beginners tome... sigh... now, for how to control the Mist... lovely, I wonder if I will be able to pull this off... next is astral projection, it says it will be painful, I hope I can manage it." And so he read, and read and read, hoping to start gaining mastery by the months end.

Magic could be easy but without innate magical energy, the cost was high, especially the more complicated things like enchantments and spell bags and wards. He only hoped that he was learning well enough, he was trying so hard...

"I have an hour to prepare, than it's time for kickboxing. Thank Hecate for healing spells, otherwise I'd never survive."

The Next Week

Through the veil of shadows, Hecate watched as Rowan drew on his life force and growing magical skills, to play with the people of NYC. The boy wove simple illusions, the absence of divinity made the Mist thinner around him, he could only invoke so much as a mortal, and so his illusions were basic. Funny though as he made people jump in shock, recoil or laugh at whatever their minds came up with.

"He's clever, this is a perfect exercise... I wonder what he will come up with next... maybe I should lead him to Camp Halfblood, he did ask me to help him find a means to learn more... hmmm, decisions, decisions."

And so, as she waited on her thoughts, she watched him play around with more mortals, for hours and hours until he exhausted himself...

And she knew what she would do.

Even if the boy would, for months, fail to astral project. A consequence of his mortal soul, lacking the flexibility of the divine,

Summer came fast, and when it did, Rowan had finished all his tome could teach him. He was done with it, but that is where the final spell came in handy. "A spell to find knowledge, a bit too on the nose. I have been practicing divination for months, so why not?" Gathering a bowl of water, two rose petals and a droplet of blood, he focused hard and whispered a spell.

"Virtutes elementares, sanguis et terra, oculi mentium intendunt ad centra cognitionis. Inveniam quod quaero! Scientia, potestas, Magia!"

The water boiled, his blood blossoming into purple sparks, and the waves of heat and light sank into Rowan's skin, rising into his mind's eye. He shuddered, and his soul fled itself until he saw a hill, with a massive pine tree... he saw cabins though the image was fuzzy, one was gold and another was silver. Finally, in his minds eye he saw a name.

"Half-Blood Hill ... Long Island, New York. Well, isn't that perfect. Thank you, Magic and thank you Hecate...I will not ignore this sign. Time to get going,"

And off he went, taking a cab ( messing with their mind to get free fair) all the way to this... Halfblood hill...

He could not wait, for magic, for knowledge and the means to continue to grow.
