A few weeks have passed and Max was slowly getting accustomed to living with Gwen and Ryan. Max now calls Ryan 'dad', but still calls Gwen by her name. She doesn't take offense to it and assures Max that whenever he's comfortable or ready that she would be more than happy to accept. It was one less stress off of Max's shoulders and is happy that Gwen is understanding.

After that night Max promised that he will work on his language, at least when he's outside the house. When their inside Ryan and Gwen more of less just lets him say whatever, except for Fuck and any derogatory words. Ryan says that home should be your safe place to be yourself and that they shouldn't restrict Max when he's home, however there are few words that Ryan won't let Max make a habit of saying outside or at home.

Home, that's something else he had to get used to, actually having a home. And not only that, It's fucking awesome. He found that there's a basement and it's filled with arcade games! Max was in heaven, also he grew a close bond with Duke who always wants Max to play with him. Sometimes when Duke is in the house they would nap together and if he's napping by himself Gwen would tell him that Duke would watch over him like a guard dog.

The summer was begging to end and Max would start school next month in August. Though Max is still reserved about going to school he gave his word that he would at least give it a shot. And that seemed to please both Ryan and Gwen. That was another thing that Max wasn't used to.

It didn't take a lot to please either adults, as long as Max tried then they were happy. They always praised him when he did something or tried something for the first time and didn't yell at him when he fucks up. This was all Max had wanted. Tonight the small family relaxed in the living room. Ryan and Gwen were on the couch together, while Duke and Max were on the floor.

They were watching the Star Wars trilogy which Max fell in live with. Especially Darth Vader, he was Max's favorite character, he was badass. This past weekend they were doing Disney movie marathons and so far Max's favorites are Lion King, Jungle Book and Goofy Movie. Ryan got up while Max was distracted watching the movie on the floor. He got back and dropped a wrapped package on Max who jumped up in surprise.

"Hey!" He was about to wine, but saw that it was a gift. "What's this?" He asked.

"Just open it kid." Ryan chuckled back as he sat back down next to Gwen. Max rose his eyebrow in suspicion but opened the package anyways. He tossed the paper wrapping away which made Duke jump up and run after it. Inside the wrapping was a black shirt.

Max was going to question what's so special about a damn shirt until he turned it around and read that the shirt said "Best Day Ever" and had the Disneyland castle and other Disney characters on it. At first he was confused on why Ryan gave him this until he digested the words "Best Day Ever". That could only mean one thing.

"Shut the f-... Hell up!" Max shouted and corrected himself as he was beginning to realize what the shirt means. "We're going to Disneyland??!!" He yelled at the two adults who were both sporting a shit eating grin.

"Yeah kid, we're going to Disneyland. We're leaving tomorrow and will be in LA all weekend."

"Hell yeah!!!" Max shouted as he jumped up and hopped around the room like a rabbit throwing the shirt up the air. Duke, seeing the excited boy exuded to join in and starting jumping and barking around Max. The adults laughed at Max's reaction. Gwen has her phone out and recorded the whole thing. Max went over to both adults.

"Thanks dad! Thanks Gwen! This is awesome!" He thanked as he hugged both of them and then started sprinting to his room.

"Come on Duke, I gotta pack my shit! Disneyland!!" Max yelled out as he ran to his room with Duke right behind him. Both Gwen and Ryan laughed whole heartily at Max.

"Did you get it all." Ryan asked Gwen.

"Oh yeah. Future blackmail material for when he gets older." Both got up and headed to Max's room which turned into a tornado of cloths everywhere as the boy was busy finding cloths to pack and Duke just running around enjoying the mess. Ryan sighed.

"Max, what happened in here??" Max looked up at Ryan and the finally noticed the state his room is in. He gave the adults a nervous laugh.

"Oh. Yeah, I'll clean it up later, promise ." Knowing that later in Max's time is basically the next day Ryan went around and started picking up dome of the scattered cloths on the floor while Gwen helped Max pack. It took about an hour, but Max's room was back to normal and the boy's bag was packed for tomorrow.

"Alright little man, time to call it a night."

"What?!" Max exclaimed. "I can't go to sleep now!" Gwen just rolled her eyes and left the room knowing a loosing battle when she sees one. Ryan however just grinned at Max's excitement and went to pick the boy up and sat on his bed with Max on his lap. Ryan began to slowly rock.

"Awww, dad. No, not this. I don't wanna sleep." Max complained knowing that this is the most sure method Ryan has to put him to sleep. Max began to start wiggling.

"Shhhh," Ryan hushed as he started softly tapping Max's bottom. "Just relax. Tomorrow's gonna be a big day and you don't want to be dead to the world. Sleep kid." Though Max grumbled a few times he let Ryan lull him to sleep without further fuss. Once Max was knocked out he gently placed him back in his bed and tucked him in.

Ryan checked Max's bag to make sure he didn't forget anything and noticed that Max forgot to pack any PJ's. So Ryan went and pack a pair of Goofy PJ's and a Star Wars onesie that Max loves. He gave Max a peck on the cheek before exiting his room and made his way to the master bedroom where Gwen was waiting for him.

"The little shit finally went to sleep?" She chuckled.

"Yeah, it's actually getting easier to put him to bed now."

"Yeah cause you know how to work the kid. Who would have ever guessed that Mac would be the type that likes being coddled. David would never believe this."

"You're right about that. But I can see it's from his neglect at home. It seems that no one has even held the kid before."

"Yeah," Gwen said sadly. "But he's fine now."

"Yeah. Thanks to you, super mom." Ryan teased giving her a kiss.

"Oh, shut up." She swatted at him playfully. "He doesn't even call me mom, unlike you, 'dad'." She said with a smirk.

"Give him time, he'll come through." Though Gwen may push it aside she actually wants Max to be comfortable and call her mom, cause now she sees him as her own son. But hopefully with time Max will break out of the rest of his shell. With that the adults snuggled up together for a peaceful sleep.

"Oomph!" Ryan grunted as his peaceful sleep was interrupted by the weight of an hyper 10 year old.

"Wake up dad!" Max shouted excitedly as he bounced on top of Ryan. "Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" Ryan quickly caught the boy and settled him on his lap to prevent him from bouncing on him. He looked at the clock to see that it was only 5:25 am. He looked tiredly back at the boy who was brimming with energy.

"Max, do you know how early it is?!"

"Come on dad, Disneyland!" Both heard the sound of Gwen waking up and Ryan could only sigh tiredly knowing how she is if woken early in the morning.

"We're not even going today you little shit, go back to bed!" She grunted out. Max decided to answer her back with a middle finger.

"Fuck you Gwen, Ah!-" Max yelped as he felt two sharp pops on his behind.

"Max, what did we talk about using certain words?"

"Not to say them." He muttered while trying to rub the sting off his butt.

"Do we need a reminder?"

"No!" Max said quickly. The last time he needed a reminder he couldn't sit comfortably for a whole day! He definitely doesn't want to ruin anything preventing him from going to Disneyland.

"I'll remember dad, I promise." Max said as he wrapped his arms around Ryan's neck in an attempt to be cute. Gwen just huffed and turned around going back to sleep while Ryan just shook his head.

"Now max, what time did I say that I'll come get you up?"

"8." Max answered with a sigh.

"Right, it's too early bud."

"But I can't go to sleep!" Max wined. Knowing that trying to put him back to sleep would be futile Ryan simply got up with Max in his arms and headed to the living room. He grabbed the remote and sat down on the clutch with a Max on his lap and put on one of Max's favorite cartoon show Tom and Jerry. Max wanting to sit by himself started to wiggle.

"Nope, none of that. If you want to stay up, this is how it's gonna be." Ryan said tapping the boy's thigh lightly. Max huffed, but leaned back to get comfortable on Ryan's lap. About thirty minutes later Ryan could feel even breaths from Max and soft snoring indicating that the kid is nocked out cold. Ryan chuckled at the fact that Max insisted that he couldn't sleep before. He turned Max around and leaned back while softly patting Max's bottom and humming softly.

When Max woke up he found himself being strapped to something. Peaking his eyes open he noticed that he was sitting in a car seat and that the car was moving. How long was he out?

"Looks like the princess is up." Max scowled at Gwen who made the jab.

"Shut up." He muttered back which left both adults to laugh. Not liking being laughed at Max huffed and crossed his arms in a pout.

"Oh, don't be like that Max. Hey take a look outside in the distance in front of us." Max reluctantly looked up, but couldn't see anything worth mentioning until he was able to see the big "Hollywood" sign that he would always see on TV.

"Welcome to LA, kid." Max looked around excitedly, he couldn't believe that he's actually in LA! The drive took another 30 minutes before they found a parking garage. Max was confused on what was going on but followed the adults out of the car. As they walked on the sidewalk Ryan pointed at the ground and when Max looked down his eyes popped open.

They're on the Walk of Fame! Max was too focused on trying to find his favorite celebrities' Star that Ryan had to hold onto the kid's hand so he wouldn't get lost or left behind. The day was awesome! They were able to see the famous theater house and went inside a Rickey's Believe it or not museum.

All in all Max had a blast! Now they finally made it to the hotel which was the Disneyland Hotel. When they entered Gwen was the one this time holding Max's hand as the kid would just jump to the roof with the amount of excitement he had. Ryan checked them in and they went up to their room which was a two bedroom suite that was decked in Disney decoration.

Gwen let go of Max to let him explore the area and when the boy entered his room both adults heard a loud squeal. His entire room was decorated as Goofy! Including the Bed!Ryan smirked as he had called the hotel ahead to make sure that this particular room would be perfect for Max.

After getting some McDonald's for dinner the small family gathered in the living room area of their hotel room and watched the Disney movies that was played on TV. Max has already showered and was now sitting comfortably on Ryan's lap in his Goofy PJs.

After two movies Ryan looked at the clock to see that it was nearing 9:30. Thinking that it's a good time to call it a night he got up with Max in his arms. Knowing exactly what was going on Max began to wiggle.

"None of that." Ryan warned as he adjusted the boy on his hip and gave his bottom a couple of taps.

"But I don't wanna sleep!" Max complained.

"Well if you want to stay awake for tomorrow you need a good sleep." Max groaned knowing that nothing he could do would stop Ryan so he huffed dramatically as he laid back on Ryan. When Ryan went to his room he sat on Max's bed and placed the boy on his lap as he slowly rocked him using his left hand to rub circles on his back and his right hand to softly pat his bottom while humming a lullaby.

Unlike how Max would always wine about the lullaby Ryan use on him, this time he let Ryan rock him until Max felt himself closing his eyes and soon the boy was out like a light. Ryan smiled as he heard soft snoring coming from Max and could feel the even breaths indicating he was asleep. Ryan stayed on Max's bed rocking him for another 5 minutes. He then gently ticked Max in and gave him a peck on the cheek.

"Sleep tight kid, tomorrow's gonna be a great day."
