Hinata sat down in the booth opposite of where Sasuke had decided to sit. It was a very nice restaurant. Hinata looked around and saw lots of old rich couples, and other business people. Who Hinata assumed were rich as well, judging by the way they were dressed. Hinata slowly pulled her jacket off. The waiter handed them a menu and left them to be alone. Hinata couldn't help but notice that the waiter was smiling to her as he was leaving. She shyly looked down at her menu and smiled a little. Sasuke noticed the small interaction between them. And for some reason it was annoying him.
"Miss Hyuga..."
Sasuke interrupted her daydreaming.
"Huh...?... Ah yes Mr. Uchiha?"
Hinata answered embarrassed. 'I hope he didn't see that...' she thought to herself.
"I read that you used to work at Hyper Corporation..."
He stated.
"Yes..."
Hinata nodded back at him.
"Which just happens to be owned by a man named Hisagi Hyuga... Who by my knowledge is your father..."
Sasuke said. Hinata couldn't help but feel embarrassed. She looked down, and out the window by the booth they were sitting in. She didn't know what to say to this man. That her own father had fired her. But that would lead to her having to tell him why he had fired her. And Hinata wanted to keep that a secret. Nobody could know...
Sasuke could see Hinata felt embarrassed. She was trying to hide her face and avoiding his gaze. He could see her red cheeks and nervous eyes. 'Not very professional...' Sasuke thought. But somewhere inside him he felt a soft spot for her. He didn't know why or what these feelings were. But he didn't want to see her like this.
"Listen Miss Hyuga. I don't expect you to explain your family situation with me. Shit happens. That's life."
Sasuke said. Hinata slowly gazed up at him. Her eyes were big and full of surprise. 'What?' she thought to herself.
"You've worked four years at Hyper Corporation, am I right?"
Sasuke asked. Hinata nodded back to him.
"You've worked for two different people both CEO of their departments. No complaints from either. Again I don't care how you got these jobs..."
Referring to the fact that one of the people she worked for was her cousin. And the other being some CEO dude under her father.
"The point is, as far as I can see, you're a hard working employee. And that's what I need."
Sasuke's voice changed and he became very serious.
"I need someone who values their work. Someone who puts work first. I have many buisness trips over the year. Including weekends, holidays and whatever..."
Sasuke took a breath, and sat relaxed back in the booth.
"I have the temporary contract ready. It's not just for me, but also for you. This next month we'll see how well you'll do. And you'll get time, to think about if this is the kind of job, and life you want."
He finished, leaving it at that. Hinata looked down at the menu in font of her at the table. It was quite a lot to take in at once.
The waiter came over again with water and asked if they were ready to order.
"I'll have a ceacer saled and a black coffee"
Sasuke said without looking at the waiter.
Hinata first realized the waiter was there when Sasuke had ordered. 'Huh?... Oh no uhm... What to order...' Hinata panicked.
"I'll uhm... A greek salad with a chai latte."
Hinata said, and smiled up at the waiter. The waiter smiled back at her and took the menus. The waiter then left them.
Sasuke was sitting on his phone.
"I'll get you a work phone so you'll still have your privacy somewhat."
Sasuke said without removing his eyes from his phone.
"Oh no there's no reason for that. I hardly use my phone for anything else beside work."
Hinata smiled nervously at Sasuke, wavering her hands in front of herself. Sasuke looked up from his phone. And stared at Hinata. 'A 22 year old... Who only uses her phone for work... I find that hard to believe' Sasuke thought to himself without saying anything. But if she insisted on not getting a work phone it was her choice.
"Give me your phone..."
Sasuke said and held his left hand out.
Hinata raised an eyebrow.
"Relax... I'll give you my work number and home number. I'll loose my shit if I can't reach you when I need to. So I expect you to pick up when I'm trying to get a hold of you. I want to get you a wireless ear piece, so you'll be able to talk without having to stop whatever the fuck you may be doing. "
Sasuke said still holding his hand out. Hinata felt a little shocked to hear him talk like that. But then she remembered back at her father and all the other people at Hyper Corporation. A senior secretary once told Hinata that her boss would call in the middle of the night sometimes. Hinata understood that for many, their work was their life. It was everything to them. She wasn't like that herself. Maybe it was because she was still young. Maybe because she hadn't found the right work place yet. But maybe for Sasuke Uchiha, his work was his life.
"I'll make sure to always be reachable on my phone!"
Hinata tried saying with confidence. And handed her phone to Sasuke.
"Good"
Sasuke smiled at her, and took her phone.
He entered his work and home number and handed the phone back to Hinata. She looked down at her phone. 'What should I name him?...' She thought as she looked down her phone.
They were interrupt by the waiter who handed them their lunch.
"One ceacer salad and a black coffee.
And one Greek salad and Chai latte."
The waiter smiled and blushed to Hinata. And Hinata returned the gesture. Sasuke looked annoyed at them. It was really getting on his nerves that this idiot couldn't leave his secretary alone. But it would be even weirder if he commented on it. So Sasuke tried to ignore it instead. The waiter finally left to Sasuke's luck. And he began eating. Hinata was about to pick up her fork when she noticed a note under the plate. 'huh?... What's this?' Hinata thought. She pulled the note out and to her surprise the waiter had left his phone number on the note. Sasuke looked up at Hinata and grabbed the note from her hand.
"Do you usually get this much attention when you're out?"
Sasuke smirked at her. Hinata felt her face burn as her head turned red.
"I... I've never gotten anyone's phone number like this..."
Hinata said shyly. She felt embarrassed to receive a note with some guy's phone number, in front of her new boss. She had only known him for half a day. 'How come the waiter didn't think I was on a date or something... I'm here with another man after all...' Hinata thought to herself very confused. Sasuke wanted to laugh, but he kept it inside, and just smirked at the innocent young lady in front of him. Sasuke could hardly go anywhere without getting a note from some chick who wanted to get with him. He chose not to say anything further, handed her the note and continued eating instead.
They had finished their food, and Hinata was now sitting with the last of her chai latte. Sasuke had already finished his coffee, so she tried to hurry.
"Miss Hyuga..."
Sasuke said. Hinata stopped drinking and looked up at Sasuke. His eyes were deep. She felt a hot feeling in her tummy each time their eyes met like that. His face was cold. But at the same time warm. She couldn't explain it. Only that it made her nervous and excited at the same time.
"How did you get my suits to cleansing?..."
Sasuke said with a dark suspicious voice. His eyes narrowed as his gaze got more intense. Hinata swallowed and hesitated to answer.
"Uhm... Mr. Uzumaki called me last night and uhm... He... He gave me this opportunity to work for you... So he picked me up this morning and drove me to your house..."
Hinata said slowly. 'What... That idiot went over to my fucking house without my goddamn permission!' Sasuke yelled on the inside.
"I'm sorry Mr. Uchiha. I don't want Mr. Uzumaki to get in trouble... He only tried to help me... "
Hinata said and looked down at her chai.
Sasuke felt very annoyed with Naruto. But did he really expect anything different. Sasuke had given an ekstra key to Naruto himself. Sasuke just didn't expect Naruto to go over without his knowledge. 'Wait have that idiot been over without my knowledge before?...' Sasuke started wondering.
"He uhmm..."
Hinata continued.
"Mr. Uzumaki gave me a key to your house"
"Excuse me?..."
Sasuke asked annoyed. Hinata looked up at the annoyed Sasuke.
"He gave me a ke..."
"I heard you the first time"
Sasuke hizzed. Hinata felt a little shock to hear his sudden change of attitude.
"I... I can hand it back to you, if it's a problem..."
Hinata said, looking nervous at Sasuke. Sasuke sighed.
"My apologies Miss Hyuga. I shouldn't have raised my voice at you."
Sasuke said and bowed a little, to the young lady. Hinata was even more surprised that her boss just apologized to her. Admitting his own mistake like that.
"Don't apologize Mr. Uchiha. It's my fault. I shouldn't have accepted the key without consulting with you first. I'm very sorry."
Hinata said and felt bad. 'Why did I just accept the key to some strangers place from Naruto. I'm such an idiot. Of course I should have talked with him first' Hinata wanted to hit herself.
"Well it's Naruto we're talking about. He probably stuffed it in your face and told you to keep it..."
Sasuke said and put on a smirk for Hinata, as he leaned back against the booth again. Hinata couldn't help but let out a small giggle. He wasn't wrong about Naruto.
Her giggle made Sasuke warm inside.
'Jeez ffs Sasuke' he thought to himself.
"Well this way it will be easier for you to do your job... I just expect you to leave my house the way you found it..."
Sasuke said and looked at Hinata. Hinata nodded back at Sasuke in agreement.
To be continued...
