Rumours a ghost by the swimming pool at Akademi Academy had circulated around for decades According to the Occult club and old newspaper clippings, a girl called Ritsuko Chikanari had been an heiress to an aristocratic family when she was found dead at the bottom of the pool in 1989. It had been considered a freak accident and the case was closed relatively quickly.
The legend goes that should you incur her wrath, she would respond by drown you. The previous leader of the sports club, Kei Sato hated the old aristocracy and considered it outdated. "She got what was coming to her" he said back in 2017 "At least there's one less pompous brat in the world" .
He was found dead the following morning, face down in the pool. It had been ruled a suicide but the students at Akademi were certain that there was something more to it then that. Ayano Aishi had never believed in such nonsense though she could noted that it meant no one would try to bother her at night when in the area of the pool. That was when she had put her plan into motion.
Ayano had put Kizana to sleep earlier that day and had come to collect her victim. Darkness had draped her thick cloak across the land, only the sounds that Ayano made could be heard. The wind whipped around her slim figure as she made her way into the gym. She flicked her torch on, its light penetrating through the cover of night. She opened the door and hastily grabbed the box before exiting the gym and locking the door behind her.
Now standing opposite the pool, she was about to make her way home when she heard a terrible, mournful moan. "What the-" she was cut off by another moan echoing through the grounds. Like the sound of a weeping woman.
The pull was too strong to break, so she found herself pulling the box up to the pool. There was nothing. Relief was an odd feeling, she sighed before realising the box was moving. 'Ah! She's waking up!' Ayano realised 'I need to get her to the basement!'
Just when she turned around to walk away, a sudden blast of ice cold air slammed into her; making her feet freeze. Her body refused to move. Only then did she hear the familiar sound of someone exiting the pool. 'Who would be in the pool at this time?!' Her thoughts rushed to her all at once.
Then, something horrifying entered her mind.
'No...' She begged 'No! It can't be! It can't be true!'
Despite being nearly emotionless, she felt true fear for the first time. It was a chill that ran down her back at the very thought of what could be about to happen. Her body was acting as if it had a mind of it's own, different to her consciousness.
It was the twist of dread in her stomach that became more crippling as each footstep squelched closer to her. It was the feeling of her heart beat pulsing and squirming in her mind.
It was begging her to scream and run but the sound never came.
"Look at me" the disembodied voice calmly demanded. Blood frozen in sheer terror, Ayano turned in the direction of the voice and opened her eyes.
The girl before her looked clearly her age. The girl's skin was grey, green and blue with black veins across her body. Her face had bloated and decayed so much that looked like it would melt off if Ayano did as much as touched it. The overwhelming stench of old chlorine and soiled meat caught Ayano off guard, forcing her to her knees in an effort not to vomit.
The figure looked down at her and tilted her head with an expression of sadistic glee. "Another Aishi" Ritsuko spoke. She looked at the box as it continued to shake and move. "Who is in there?" She gestured towards the box.
Ayano shot up. How?
"Don't be surprised child. Your mother killed me, you know" She taunted, black blood and water bubbling out her mouth as she did so.
"NO!" Ayano cried out to the figure's surprise. "My mother is sweet and innocent, she wouldn't hurt anyone! She's-"
"She's what?" The figure demanded.
"She's..." like me…
Realisation sunk in. All those memories of being taught how to clean a kitchen knife properly, those times that she had taught Ayano to mimic people, how everything just seemed to go her way…
"O-oh god" Ayano stammered.
"Good, you have some brains at least. That's nice to know" Ritsuko laughed cruelly. The box suddenly burst open, Kizana desperately tried to crawl away but Ayano had tied her up tightly. So tightly that there was rope burn on her wrists and arms. The gag was smeared and stained with Kizana's rose red lipstick. Ritsuko watched on as the girl with the croissant like twin drills squirmed in her bonds, hurting herself in the process.
"Oh! Prefect…" She smiled menacingly. Ayano, still not able to run, looked over towards the terrified Kizana as Ritsuko approached.
"You know, I had planned to kill you Aishi. Call it revenge paid with interest if you willl But with that being said..." She glanced at the deathly white Kizana. "I believe Miss Sunobu would be a perfect host for me. How wonderful!"
Ritsuko giggled madly. "Most curious indeed. Ryoba killed me for the boy I liked and yet her daughter from that man just saved me. A new chance at life! It's really quite something" She enthusiastically grabbed Kizana's hair, making the leader of the drama club beg for her life through her gag.
"You may leave now and not say a word. Do not fear though, the boy you like is not up to my tastes" She remarked before coughing up a ball of congelled blood which spattered on Kizana's neck and chest.
Ayano bolted as fast as her legs could carry her, all the way home she could hear Kizana's blood-curdling screams in the night.
The next day was confusing for the Drama club.
Kizana arrived to school with luxurious blue hair instead of her trademark purple. Her twin drills and roses had been replaced with a plaited bun held together with a white and gold ribbon. She told the drama club could that they would be expected to change the colour scheme for the club.
'Kizana' smiled at Ayano as they passed each other in the hallway...
