Chapter Ten
Half Way Meet And Greet
A/N: WARNING-The character known as Sage Amesawa uses a lot of profanity and colorful language as part of his "colorful" personality. Be prepared if you are sensitive to that. Kokoua stood battle ready. A Jounin prepare for any battle while the young man greeted Saseme like an old friend.
" Brother Kankuro!" Saseme called out to him,"I thought it was you!"
"Did you now~?" the man called Kankuro snickered,"What gave me away?"
"...Did this girl just say Brother?" Hana whispered.
Sage shrugged.
"Maybe they're close?" he stated, "Clearly they know each other...what if he's one of those friends she mentioned?"
Kankuro smirked and crossed his arms.
"I recognized the blade..." said Saseme,"Or rather...I recognized the poison that was it was dipped in."She returned his smirk with her own,"It's your own special blend...isn't it, Brother?" she questioned for confirmation as she sent the blade back to return the Kunai to his offered hand.
"HaHaHaHa...I guess it wasn't a waste to teach you how to recognize poisons after all..." he grinned, catching the blade as he leapt from the high branch onto theirs.
"Saseme is friends with the enemy!?" Hana huffed," And she even calls him brother! I knew she couldn't be trusted-"
"Enemy!?"Sage blinked,"I swear I wonder if you are aware of how dumb you actually sound right now..." he sighed,"I joke about Dumb bitch Syndrome...but I'm starting to think it might be a real thing with you..."
"What was that!?" Hana huffed as she twitched.
"Hana..." Kokoua called softly,"...Look at his head gear."
"Huh? His head gear?" Hana blinked as she focused on the metal plate across Kankuro's black cat hat.
"That is the symbol for the Hidden Sand Village." said Kokoua,"...He is not our enemy..." she blinked,"He's an ally."
"Like I said earlier!" Sage mumbled, "The fact that they know each other so familiarly must mean he's one of the friends in the Sand Village that Saseme was talking about before-"
Although...
Kokoua blinked as she shifted her gaze to the two genin of different villages while they conversed.
Our allies in the Hidden Sand are mysterious among themselves...
We don't know too much about them...so a little caution may not hurt...
She focused her gaze heavily on Saseme.
Could she be hising something?
"Kankuro is a ninja from the Hidden Sand." Saseme blinked,"He and his two siblings are fellow Shinobi I trained with during my time there."
"I see." Kokoua chuckled.
She seems rather loyal to the Sand...
It may be worth keeping an eye on her...
"Say...Saseme." Kankuro blinked,"Who are these losers...?" He muttered curiously.
"My...team mates..." She sighed.
"I see..." he blinked,"I feel bad for you...you would have been better staying home..."
"Yeah I agree..." Hana sighed as she shrugged,"She is pretty useless, huh?"
"This coming from you who didn't do anything!?" Sage sighed with a face palm,"In case you forgot...she saved your ass!"
"Yeah- from a trap that she clearly knew too much about! I'm telling you- she could be setting us up!" Hana huffed and exchanged a glare with her team mate who showed no remorse for his comment.
"Actually- I was referring to home with us." Kankuro blinked,"I'm sorry but who are you?"
"Oh me~?" the ginger giggled,"I'm Hana Kimouri~ Beauty of the hidden leaf~"
"Oh..." he blinked,"And I should give a damn about that because...?"
"You shouldn't." Sage said with a wave of his hand,"'beauty of the leaf' was kinda wedged in there~" he grinned an pointed to himself,"I'm Sage Amesawa and this is our sensei Kokoua." he stated,"We're ninja from the hidden leaf hired to help flush out the invaders of your village~"
"I see..." Kankuro blinked,"So they hired you..."
"I'm sorry Brother." Saseme said softly as she bowed,"I'm afraid we set off one of your traps..."
"Ehhh...whatever." he shrugged,"At least we know they work..."
Saseme turned slowly to her team mates behind her,"We should go with Kankuro the rest of the way to his village." she blinked,"He's the one who set these traps so he would know the way around them."
"Sorry about the traps." He stated with a shrug,"But with the number in bandits growing...we can't be too careful these days."
"Understandable." said Kokoua.
"Where's Temari?" Seseme blinked,"And...well..."
Kankuro stared a while at the girl who shifted her gaze upon the second name. He gave a slight smile and shrugged shaking his head.
"Temari is setting up on the other side of the boarder." he said,"We left Gaara back in the village...in case some managed to get in while we were preparing traps against them."
"I see..." Saseme blinked.
Gaa-chan isn't here then...good...
It's safer for them if he's away...
She twitched as she clenched her hands into fists to stop her slight trembling.
Is it just me...?
Hana blinked.
Or is weird girl acting even weirder than usual?
"Let's go." said Kankuro,"I'll take you the rest of the way."
