(A/N: Hey Everyone, Happy belated Mother's Day! I hope everyone had a great one! I decided to make this one shot story about Chilli and how Levon's first Mother's Day went. Hope you all Enjoy it!)
It was early one morning at the Heeler Household, Chilli Heeler opened her eyes and saw that the bed her and Bandit slept in was empty. She sat up confused and wondered where he was before she could ask the sound of their bedroom door creaking open, which caught her attention. She looked and saw her, and Bandit's oldest adopted son, Levon poking his head into the room.
Chilli smiled, seeing her son. "Good morning, sweetheart," She greeted him. "Oh! Morning Mum." The nine year old Grey Wolf greeted her with a smile, "I didn't wake you, did I?" He asked with a worried look on his face. "No sweetheart, I was just about to get out of bed." Chilli replied still with her smile. "Oh good!" Levon replied excitedly as he opened the bedroom wide to reveal his father and his sisters, "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!" They all said in unison. "Oh thank you!" Chilli said, wagging her tail at seeing her husband and their children kids.
"Made you an omelet, just the way you like it, babe... no egg shells." Bandit said with a wink before placing the breakfast tray on her lap. "Yeah, and me and the girls made you a card." Levon said, pointing to a folded card that him and his sisters made. "Oh! How nice!" Chilli said as she took the card. "You really are the greatest ever, Mum!" Levon said with the biggest smile on his face. "You're the best, Mum!" Bluey said, wagging her tail. "We love you so so much!" Bingo added. "You got that right, kids." Bandit replied with a smile before giving his wife a kiss on her cheek. Chilli chuckled, "Come here, kids, give me a hug," she said, opening her arms.
Bluey and Bingo climbed onto the bed and snuggled close to their mother's chest as they hugged her. Levon joined in, hugging his sisters and his mother. "My babies," Chilli said, snuggling them. "You know this reminds me of the first Mother's Day we had with your brother." She said, looking up at her son with a smile. "Really? How did that go, Mum?" Levon asked with a raised eyebrow. "Yeah, Mum, what was it like?" Bluey asked, her curiosity getting the better of her. "Yeah, please tell us!" Bingo pleaded as she and her older sister gave the infamous please face. Chilli chuckled "okay so it went like this," she said as she started to tell the story of the first Mother's Day that she had with Levon.
May 14th, 2012,
Bandit was downstairs in the kitchen getting ready to cook his wife breakfast for today was a very special day. Suddenly, he heard the sound of quiet footsteps coming into the kitchen. Bandit turned to see a pair of glowing yellow eyes peeking from behind the doorway that led to the living room. "Hey mate, how did you sleep?" Bandit asked, knowing it was his and Chilli's adopted son. "I slept okay... I'm not bothering you, am I?" Three year old Levon asked, walking into the kitchen with a worried look on his face and his ears folded back. "Of course not mate, do you want to help make your mum some brekkie?" Bandit asked, looking at the Grey Wolf Pup.
"Okay. Dad... is it Mother's Day?" Levon asked, looking up at his father with a raised eyebrow. "It is actually," Bandit said with a smile. "Oh, because I made Mama a card before you had me go to bed last night." Levon explained as he walked over to his father. "Oh did you?" Bandit asked curiously as he raised an eyebrow. "Yes, Dad, I wanted to surprise Mama with it." Levon replied as he nodded his head. "That's nice of you, mate," Bandit replied with a smile. "Well, I wanted to show how much I love her and how much I'm thankful to her for being my mama." Levon explained as his ears folded back nervously as he pulled out the card. "I hope she'll like it…"
"You're our son. She'll love anything you make for her, mate." Bandit said, trying to get his son to be positive. "Okay... what are we making Mama for breakfast?" Levon asked, looking up at his father. "Omelets!" Bandit said as he got the ingredients out. "Ooo, I'm sure she'll love it, Dad!" Levon said with a smile as his tail wagged slowly. "Do you want to help, mate?" Bandit asked as he turned the grill on and placed a frying pan on the burner. "Umm... do you want me to?" Levon asked, unsure if his father needed his help. "Sure!" Bandit replied as his tail wagged. Levon smiled before him, and his father got to work on making Chilli her breakfast for Mother's Day.
Moments later, the father and son duo finished making Chilli her special Mother's Day breakfast. "Alright I think that should do it, mate," Bandit said with a smile. "Wow, you did a good job. Mama's gonna love it!" Levon said excitedly as he admired the omlet him and his father made. "Wanna help me give it to her, squirt?" Bandit asked as he loaded it onto the tray. "Yeah, um... how about you carry it, and I'll hold the door open for you so it doesn't spill?" Levon suggested an idea to his father. "Yeah, um... how about you carry it, and I'll hold the door open for you so it doesn't spill?" Levon suggested an idea to his father. Bandit nodded, "Sounds like a plan!" he replied with a smile.
"Okay, Dad!" Levon said as he ran out of the kitchen while his father carried the breakfast tray as he followed the little Grey Wolf. Soon, the two reached the master bedroom. "Should I check to see if Mama is awake?" Levon asked, looking up at his father with a worried look. "Sure you can, kiddo." Bandit replied with a smile. "Okay..." Levon said as he carefully and slowly opened the bedroom door and poked his head inside. Chilli yawned as she started to get up and stretched from her bed. She looked at and saw a pair of glowing eyes from across the bedroom. "Good morning, sweetheart," Chilli greeted her son with a smile. "Hi Mama, I didn't wake you, did I?" Levon asked as he stepped out from behind the bedroom door. "Not at all, sweetheart," Chilli replied with a smile, "Oh good." Levon replied with a smile, "Are you hungry?" He asked, walking into the room. "I am actually, are you? I can make you some brekkie," Chilli said as she took her covers off her.
"Oh, actually..." Levon said with a smile before opening the door and holding it as Bandit walked in with the breakfast tray. "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!" They both said in unison. "Oh! Thank you! I forgot it's Mother's Day," Chilli said, sitting back down. "Dad made you an omelet." Levon replied with a smile. "Technically, Levon helped me make it." Bandit replied as he set the breakfast tray on her lap before giving his wife a kiss on the cheek. "My boys made me brekkie. That's so sweet," Chilli said, giving her husband a kiss. "Well, you deserve it Mama, you take very good care of us." Levon replied as Chilli glanced down and saw something in her son's hands. "What do you have there, sweetie?" She asked, pointing to the card.
Levon's ears folded back, and he nervously handed her the paper. "I made you a card for Mother's Day... I hope you like it." He said nervously. "Aww," Chilli said as she took the card from her son. She opened it to reveal it was a drawing of her, Bandit, and Levon outside of their house. She then noticed a small red Heeler next to her and Bandit. "Levon, who's this?" Chilli asked, looking at the Grey Wolf Pup. "Oh, um... I felt bad that you and Dad won't be able to have a baby of your own, so I drew what I thought one would look like." Levon explained nervously as his mother looked back at the drawing and realized that her son had drawn a child that her and Bandit would never have. Chilli teared up before she moved the breakfast tray aside and picked up Levon, and hugged him tightly. "Mama, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you!" Levon said, looking at his mother with a worried look.
"No sweetie this is the best Mother's Day card ever," Chilli said as she peppered her son's face with kisses. Levon smiled before he hugged her back, "I'm glad you love it, Mama..." he said softly. "You're the best Mama I could ever have…" he said, looking up into her eyes. "And you're the best son we could ever have," Chilli said as she cuddled Levon close to her chest. "Well, you should tuck in before your brekkie gets cold." Bandit said as he picked up Levon and held him on his hip. "What are we gonna do with Mama after she's had her breakfast?"Levon asked, looking up at his father. "Well I do have a present for her as well," Bandit said with a chuckle. "Oh, okay... wait. Is it a present where I have to leave the room?" Levon asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
"No, actually it's in the drawer over there if you can get it for me, mate," Bandit said with a chuckle as a small blush formed across his face. "Sure, Dad!" Levon replied before his father placed him down and ran over to the drawer and grabbed what his father needed. "Here you go, Dad!" Levon said, handing the box to him. "Thanks mate," Bandit said as he took the small box from his son and handed it to his wife. "Here you go, the love of my life. I hope you like it," Bandit said with a smile. "Oh Bandit, you didn't have to..." Chilli said as she looked up at her husband before opening up the box.
"Anything for you, babe," Bandit said before kissing her cheek. "What did Dad get you, Mama?" Levon asked, tilting his head in confusion. "Bandit Heeler, you didn't!" Chilli said in shock as she took out a new ring from the box. "I did. Nothing's too much for my girl." Bandit said, kissing his wife on her lips, "Wow, it looks beautiful." Levon said with a smile as he admired it. "Just like the woman who'll wear it." Bandit said, looking at Chilli with a smile as she chuckled in reply.
Present Day,
"That was my first Mother's Day, and it got even better after you both were born." Chilli said as she looked at Bluey and Bingo. "Really?" Bluey asked with a smile as her tail wagged happily. "I mean it with all my heart. You three are the biggest blessings that me and your father could ever ask for." Chilli replied as she rubbed the top of her oldest daughter's head. "You kids mean the world to your mum and me." Bandit chimed in. "Our lives wouldn't be the same without any of you in it." He said, looking at the family him and his wife had made. "Thanks, Dad." Levon replied with a soft smile. "Now then, let's leave the Mother's Day Queen to enjoy her brekkie kids before we go to Nana's house!" Bandit said, clapping his hands together as he shooed Bluey and Bingo out of the room. "Coming, Dad!" Levon said before giving his mother a kiss on the cheek. "Happy Mother's Day, Mum!" He said before following his father and sisters.
As Chilli sat alone in her bed, she paused a moment before moving the breakfast tray off of her lap and reaching over to her nightstand and grabbing something from inside it. It was the card that Levon had ever given her for Mother's Day, tears of happiness welled in her eyes as she looked at the drawing of the child the Grey Wolf had drawn for her six years ago. She wiped her eyes at how Levon somehow predicted that she would have a child… but also another one that would be as red as her and the girl in the drawing. "I'm the luckiest mum in the world." Chilli said before placing the card back in the nightstand drawer along with the cards she had gotten for Mother's Day from Bluey and Bingo. She then placed the card that she had gotten today in the nightstand as well.
Chilli then grabbed her knife and fork and began to cut into her omelet. As she took a bite, her eyes widened as the flavor hit her taste buds. "Oh my goodness! This is delicious!" She said as she continued eating. Little did she know that Levon was watching from outside the bedroom door, "Happy Mother's Day, Mum." The Grey Wolf said quietly to himself before he turned to walk away to find his father and sisters.
