Chapter 5: Preparations and Potential

"So, from the top. What's the arrangement that you have in mind for this plan, Doctor?" Wily asked, wanting to double check everything down to the last detail so nothing was unclear to the group.

"Alright, so. We are here" Eggman explained, pointing a metal stick at a diagram. The two doctors had made some adjustments to the board room since they last used it to meet Bowser and the others, having set up a white board that Eggman has drawn out roughly how their master plan is intended to begin. 5 large circles are drawn out, labeled based on each of their dimensions, with the group isolated from the circles in its own small circle in the center.

"As we have discussed, each of us should avoid our home dimension for the start of this, as they will be most familiar with us and our accompanying forces. As such, we are each taking a different route. Bowser" Eggman grabbed a marker and encircled the Koopa King's name in the center. "You and your forces are to invade my world" He explained, drawing a line connecting Bowser to Eggman's World. "You have an impressively large army, many of which are equipped to withstand impacts and attacks from above, this will be vital against my enemies."

"With my Egg Fleet, we will be moving to Hyrule" He continued, connecting Eggman with Ganondorf's world. "Your world is impressive with its magic, but I am prepared for it, and they are not prepared for my technologically advanced forces! They won't be able to defend themselves from my metal minions assault!"

"...Ahem" Taking a second to lower the fist he had raised from excitement, Eggman continued with his diagram. "Ganon, your forces will siege Wily's homeworld. While their society has advanced past the weapons your followers carry, it is not experienced with magic at all, giving you the edge." Ganon smirked hearing that, seeing the line connecting him to Wily's world. Eggman was a bit surprised to see the Warlock offer himself to go after Wily's dimension, but with his magic, the world's technological advantages don't seem as dangerous to them.

"Wily, you're going off planet, and will be engaging in Ridley's intergalactic home. Its probably the most open of all of our worlds, but that also means the most room to strategize formations. And you've got more than enough in the way of loyal machines, those Robot Masters of yours will be quite useful for such a task." Wily nodded his head in approval, feeling up to the task as he was linked to the dragons home.

"And lastly, Ridley…Try to go easy on them, based on what we've seen and heard from Bowser, you likely are going to have the easiest time of all of us. You only have a few serious threats to your much more advanced forces, but still, they may have tricks up their sleeves. Just try not to slaughter everyone." Ridley leaned back in his position before letting out an ominous roar, one that wasn't deafening, but intimidating. He knew he was likely going to be the one having the most enjoyment with his section of the plan, and he was going to revel in it.

"Alright, gentlemen, that is phase one." Eggman announced, folding up the metal stick he was using after drawing out where each group was set to travel. With it put away the doctor reached his hand up and with a forceful tug brought down a white screen overtop of the board he was writing on, a projector on the opposite end of the room being handled by an Egg Pawn lighting up, filling the screen with an elaborate flowchart.

"Now, on to all the potential ways reality could fall apart from so many interdimensional tears at once!" Eggman continued, prompting several exasperated groans from the audience, even Wily among them. "Ohohoho! Just kidding friends, myself and Wily have gone to painstaking lengths to make sure that does not occur!" He announced with pride, as the projection changed slides, a roar of approval from Bowser and Ridley as the two humans in the crowd clapped at this statement.

"Ah good, I was worried I'd have to prompt the Egg Pawns to applaud if that didn't land quite right…Anyway, this is the part where things could get complicated. A lot more complicated. If we are to go beyond our initial scope, we may very well be breaching into worlds that we have little to no understanding of, where our already expanded understanding of science and now magic, may mean nothing compared to what they possess. As such, a continued survey of these new worlds will be necessary. In fact, I've already taken the liberty of doing some recon into other worlds."

"You have? Ivo, what did you find out there?" Wily inquired, curious what his colleague could have discovered through continued multiversal crossing. Eggman smirked as the slide changed behind him, three photographs up on display for him to detail with the others.

"So far, I've been to three. The first one is here" He gestures to the first image, showing what appeared to be a raid on a remote village, townspeople trying to defend themselves as three enemy soldiers, two wearing helmets and one a girl with green hair, in massive metal suits of armor wreaking havoc upon them. The most prominent part of the picture here however, was one of the suits of armor firing what appeared to be a blast of ice magic, a light blue beam that appeared to freeze those hit by it. "I only caught a glimpse of this attack, but the technology on display here seemed very promising, as though one had found a way to harness magic through technology!"

This elicited some surprise from the others, as that was not something they had yet found possible through their combined knowledge of the multiverse. "Fascinating…This certainly warrants further research! I must know how these suits function!" Wily proclaimed, as the others nodded in agreement. Eggman nodded as well, happy to see the other genius in the room have the same amount of excitement at the potential this new discovery had, before continuing to the next image.

"The second one, well…This one I'm a bit mixed on. It may also have some potential, but not without certain…risks." Eggman continued, outlining the picture. It showed the exterior of a rather ornate mansion, its location appeared to be out in the woods, the architecture a fusion of different styles, numerous support pillars along the ground floor, a balcony overtop of it along the second floor, and a large window standing directly above the main entrance. "At first, I thought little of this place, it seemed almost abandoned. But I decided to get creative, and took…these."

The image was replaced in the projection by an infrared shot of the same region, and that was when things got interesting. The sea of colors should what appeared to be multiple human shaped figures on the inside, dotting around both floors of the manor. But the more eye-catching scene was the…Other things it was displaying. Human shaped heat signatures laying in the ground regions, massive heat signatures that were hard to identify the origin of in certain parts of the mansion, and deep below the ground were traces of extremely high heat signatures.

"Whatever is going on here, that mansion is not abandoned. I can't exactly identify what they are doing, but whoever owns this place must have some pretty impressive plans of their own, wouldn't you agree gentlemen?" The others nodded in agreement, the two pictures revealing a potentially unsettling sneak peek of whatever plot was going to soon go into effect. "Something about this…It's unnerving, having so little to go off of. But that just makes it all the more interesting" Ganon mused, a smirk plastered on the warlocks face.

"Agreed. Now, the last one that I found so far was this one." Eggman continued, moving their attention to what appeared to be a picture of a military base out in an arctic region. "At first I was wondering if I'd stumbled on another potential dead end like the last one. But after remembering what I had seen from that, I opted to use other forms of photography to check, and I found something that caught my attention."

The picture changed, first replaced by infrared, showing a slew of heat signatures around the base, showing the area was not only occupied, but actively being used for something. "Now, this was already enough to get my attention, far more people here than the mansion. But then I noticed this standout picture." The image changed to a different angle, with a massive sea of high heat colors concentrated in one of the storage buildings.

"If I know heat and energy like I know I do, then these guys are likely carrying radioactive materials, possibly for military grade testing. Very promising if they are not aligned to a more morally upright group like a nation's government, definitely one we should keep eyes on like the others."

"Excellent work, Doctor! All three of these spots have incredible future utility for us for when our plans truly begin!" Wily stated, standing up from his seat, excitement welling in his voice. "Our options for conquest and possible future allies are near limitless with the power of dimensional travel, nothing will be able to stand in our way!"

The other villains cheered at such a confident statement, as Eggman clenched his fist. "Agreed my dear colleague, now, we will return to discuss more on these new dimensions after we have commenced the start of our plans. For now, we are all to return to our forces. The time has come, for war!"

"HRAAAAAAAAAAAWR!" "Attention minions! Our time has come, it is time to make our move on the world Eggman calls home! Follow my orders, and we shall emerge VICTORIOUS!"

"ATTENTION! The day has finally come boys. We are to cross over, into a new world! One that will not be ready for us, and is ours for the taking! Prepare yourselves, for we shall march on Hyrule!"

"ATTENTION ALL MACHINES AND ROBOTS! You have been training for weeks in preparation for this, and here we finally are. The outer reaches of space beckon us, and they will not be ready for the sheer volume of our forces. Prepare for launch!"
