~~Hello readers, I'm back with a new chapter.

I don't own anything from Pokemon or Yu-gi-oh Arc V.

Only my original characters belong to me.~~

It was now mid afternoon in Jubilife City.

~At The Arena: No POV~

After receiving her newly acquired ribbon from the judges, Mira sauntered over to her father who stood beside the bleachers.

"Hello Father, I won the contest for you. Sioku has been defeated," she boasted.

The scientist grinned at his daughter in approval.

"Well done Mira, I am so proud of you. You truly deserve that ribbon," he replied.

The teen smiled in response to her dad's complement.

"What is our next step?" asked Mira.

"We're going to capture my little experimental pet before she can leave the city," the scientist answered wickedly.

~Near The Pokemon Center: Sioku's POV~

I had just lost the final contest battle against a girl named Mira.

Instead of letting my loss bother me, I focused on getting my Pokemon team restored.

I hurried into the Pokemon center and approached the front desk.

"Hello mis, how may I help you?" greeted Nurse Joy.

"Two of my Pokemon need to be healed," I answered while retrieving two Pokeballs from my bag.

"I would be glad to do that for you," Nurse Joy said with a smile.

I placed Starly and Shinx' Pokeballs into the tray on her desk.

A few minutes passed by as I waited for my Pokemon to come back to me.

Nurse Joy soon returned and then set the tray on her desk.

"Your Pokemon are healthy and ready to go," she said.

"Thank you very much," I replied while collecting my Pokeballs.

"Please feel free to come back any time," Nurse Joy added.

I waved to her before exiting the Pokemon center.

Right as I was making my way out of the city, I heard footsteps coming toward me at a fast pace.

Those footsteps were coming from more than one person.

My heart started to race with fear.

I increased my speed and jogged back through Route 202.

The wind blew my hair around as I ran.

However, the footsteps only grew louder and became more difficult to ignore.

I decided to focus on my safety and turned down the path toward Sangem Town.

My unknown pursuers caught up to me in no time.

"We have you now little girl! Stop where you are!" screamed a man from behind me.

My breath caught in my throat as I gasped.

Chills crawled up my spine at an alarming rate.

I couldn't hold my curiosity back any longer and turned around to face my pursuers.

A male scientist and his familiar teenage daughter quickly approached me.

"We found you Sioku," the scientist said wickedly.

"Why are you creeps chasing me? What do you want?" I demanded with a cold glare.

Mira glared back at me.

"Quit acting tough Sioku, you're not cool. You won't get away from us," she shot back.

I shook my head in annoyance.

"My name is Dr. Colress. Your special healing power will belong to Team Plasma. Our Pokemon will be unstoppable as soon as I can extract your blood," answered the scientist.

Alarms of panic immediately went off in my head as soon as I heard him mention my cell activation ability.

"How did you two discover that?" I growled.

"That's none of your business," answered Mira.

I held up a Pokeball and called out. "Shinx, I choose you!"

Shinx emerged from its Pokeball with its tail sparking wildly.

Mira also held up a Pokeball and shouted. "Stunky, it's your turn!"

Stunky popped out of its Pokeball and stood in front of Mira.

"Shinx, use spark," I commanded.

Electric sparks flew from the end of Shinx' tail and hit Stunky directly.

"Stunky, fight back with slash," ordered Mira.

The skunk Pokemon slashed at Shinx with its claws.

Stunky was inflicted with paralysis as a result of its action.

I decided to take advantage of this new opportunity.

"Shinx, use tackle," I instructed.

The dog Pokemon charged forward and tackled Stunky to the ground.

"Now finish this battle with spark," I added.

Shinx released more electric sparks from the end of its tail that hit Stunky.

Stunky fell to the ground with a thud.

"Oh no... Stunky!" cried Mira.

"It's okay Mira, return Stunky to its Pokeball. You can heal it later. We have higher priorities first," said Dr. Colress.

"Yes Father," Mira replied as she returned her Pokemon.

I took advantage of their distraction and bolted toward Sangem Town at full speed with Shinx running behind me.

Dr. Colress noticed this and started to run after us.

His daughter quickly trailed behind him.

"Get back here little girl, we're not done with you!" he yelled.

I ignored the man's yelling and proceeded to enter Sangem Town.

My pursuers chased me through the small town and out to Route 201.

I suddenly came to a halt near the lake as a glowing light caught my eye.

The bright light circled above a patch of tall grass like a vortex.

Shinx saw the light and released electric sparks from the end of its tail.

"Settle down Shinx," I whispered.

I returned Shinx to its Pokeball before anything else could happen.

Being the curious person that I am, I forgot all about my pursuers and went to investigate the mysterious light.

Unfortunately, Dr. Colress and his annoying daughter appeared behind me as I slowly moved closer.

I kept looking at the light instead of focusing on them.

"Sioku Marie, my daughter and I are tired of chasing you! You have one more chance to quietly come with us or else you'll get hurt!" the scientist threatened.

Mira nodded her head in agreement.

"I'll never go with you guys. Your threats don't scare me," I shot back.

Dr. Colress retrieved one of his Pokeballs and said with a sigh. "Okay Sioku, you asked for it."

"Magnezone, come on out!" he shouted.

The electric and steel type Pokemon Magnezone emerged from its Pokeball and stood in front of Dr. Colress.

"Use thunderbolt on this girl," he instructed.

Magnezone struck me in the side with a powerful thunderbolt attack.

I was zapped violently and fell to the ground with a hard thud.

Volts of electricity quickly passed through my body like water.

"We've got her now Father," Mira said proudly.

Dr. Colress pulled a few thick ropes out of his bag.

Before he could tie those ropes around my body, the swirling vortex suddenly lifted me up.

The scientist and his daughter watched the scene with shocked expressions.

"What is going on?" screamed Dr. Colress.

"I don't know Father, but we can't let her get away. Mis Aldith is waiting for us back at home," answered Mira.

Dr. Colress dropped the ropes and took off after me.

The vortex carried me upward and out of their sight.

~No POV~

Dr. Colress and his daughter looked at each other disappointed.

"Father, how are we going to catch that girl now?" asked Mira.

Dr. Colress let out a heavy sigh.

"I don't know Mira, but you and I must return home to Unova. We'll get another opportunity to catch her when she comes back to the Sinoh Region," he answered calmly.

Mira only nodded at that.

The two made their way back through Jubilife City and headed toward Canalave City.

Once there, they took a boat back to Route 18 in the Unova Region.

~Sioku's POV~

I closed my eyes and let the force take me away.

The vortex soon descended and gently lowered me down into a random garden.

I landed softly on my back in a field of thick grass.

I opened my eyes and watched the light disappear from my sight.

Looking around the area, I spotted many planter boxes and flower beds.

Each of them contained an assortment of different plants and flowers.

I also saw various types of gardening equipment such as hoses, watering cans, and shovels neatly arranged on metal shelves.

"Wow... this place is so beautiful," I whispered.

I carefully pulled myself up into a sitting position.

My body still shook from that electric attack.

I ignored the pain and continued looking around.

"Who's garden is this?" I wondered out loud.

"It belongs to me," answered a male voice from the left.

I gasped as I peered in that direction.

"Who's there?" I responded curiously.

"I'll be with you shortly," answered the voice.

A dreamy smile formed on my lips as I sighed.

I admired how politely the voice spoke.

The warm sun shined down on me as I waited.

Birds chirped in the treetops above me.

I took in the peaceful environment right away and started to relax.

I was about to slip into my thoughts when I saw a violet haired boy dressed in an officer's uniform walking toward me.

He had a calming aura around him.

"Excuse me mis, are you a duelist? I don't recognize you from anywhere," he said.

My ears perked up when I heard his voice up close.

"No sir, I don't know what dueling is," I answered plainly.

The boy stopped near me but kept his distance.

"Good afternoon sir, my name is Sioku Marie. Who are you?" I greeted happily.

The boy took a seat beside me.

I felt a surge of hyper energy between us.

"Hello Sioku, my name is Yuri. What brings you to the Fusion Dimension?" he responded.

My heart began to race with joy as I listened to him speak.

A brief moment of silence passed by.

"This new place is... the Fusion Dimension?" I asked with a confused expression.

"Of course it is, are you not from here?" Yuri continued.

I focused on the sound of Yuri's voice and smiled.

He sounded gentle and kind.

"No sir, I'm from a different place called the Sinoh Region. I was transported here by a portal. It carried me away from my pursuers," I explained.

"Sioku, are you serious? Who would go after a cute girl such as yourself?" Yuri asked with a stunned expression.

A blush came to my cheeks as I laughed nervously.

I stared at the boy with wide eyes.

"Sioku, what's the matter?" Yuri asked gently.

I started to tremble a bit.

"Please don't worry about me... Yuri. I was busy paying attention to you," I answered dreamily.

Yuri chuckled at the sight of my pink cheeks.

"I'm glad to see you looking happy," he said.

A long period of silence passed by as Yuri and I stared intently at each other.

He put a hand on my shoulder and added. "Sioku, why are people going after you?"

I lowered my eyes and sighed sadly.

"I possess a special healing ability known as cell activation. It allows me to heal a person or an animal whenever I apply pressure to their wounds. An evil organization called Team Plasma has been pursuing me ever since they figured out that I Have magic power. Team Plasma believes that my cell activation can grant their Pokemon infinite health as soon as they get their hands on it. A scientist named Dr. Colress wants to take this power from me by extracting my blood," I explained.

Yuri sat still for a minute as he thought about my story.

He then pulled me into an affectionate embrace.

His kind gesture caught me by surprise, but I didn't have the urge to resist.

I wrapped my arms around him and laid my head on his chest for comfort.

"Sioku, you have a unique gift that needs to be protected. I won't let that crazed scientist get his hands on your power," he whispered.

"Thank you Yuri," I whispered back.

"Where is the portal that brought you here?" Yuri asked as he scanned the surrounding area.

"It vanished after I landed," I answered.

"Hey Sioku, do you have any fears?" he continued.

"Yes, I have an uncontrollable fear of medical facilities. Getting a simple check-up scares me," I answered.

"That sounds rough," he said sympathetically.

The tranquil sounds of nature pulled me into a train of deep thought.

Even though Yuri and I had just met, I felt very comfortable with him.

He provided a sense of security.

Yuri smiled as a curious thought crossed his mind.

"Sioku, what is a Pokemon?" he asked softly.

"Pokemon are creatures with magical powers. Most Pokemon can evolve into bigger versions of themselves. Some people keep Pokemon as pets while others train them to fight in battles or perform in contests. Pokemon are usually kept inside Pokeballs as soon as they get captured by a trainer. I became a Pokemon trainer not long ago," I explained.

"Do you currently have any of these Pokemon?" Yuri inquired.

"Yes, I have three Pokemon with me. I would be glad to let them out of their Pokeballs," I answered with a smile of my own.

Yuri and I gently released each other before he stepped away.

I opened up all three of my Pokeballs.

"Piplup, Starly, Shinx, come out and meet my new friend!" I said cheerfully.

My Pokemon emerged from their Pokeballs and started to explore the garden.

Yuri grinned joyfully as he watched them play.

"These creatures of yours remind me of duel monsters," he commented.

"Really? How are they similar?" I responded.

"Duel monsters are creatures that come to life whenever duelists challenge each other. They also have magical powers. People can summon duel monsters by setting a card in a slot on their duel discs," he answered.

"Wow, dueling sounds like a lot of fun," I said.

Shinx calmly approached Yuri and started to sniff him.

Yuri stood still while observing the curious Pokemon.

"You don't have to be afraid, Yuri. My Pokemon just wants to get to know you," I assured.

Yuri nodded and then continued to stare down at Shinx.

Shinx rested its front paws on Yuri's legs.

Yuri bent down carefully and picked up the small Pokemon.

Shinx closed its eyes and fell asleep in Yuri's arms.

Yuri stroked Shinx' back gently.

I was happy to see Yuri and my Pokemon getting along.

"Yuri, you two are so adorable together. My Shinx already likes you," I said with an amazed grin.

"This little one reminds me of my dog at home. He is a Yellow Lab named Fusion," the boy replied.

I immediately perked up and added. "You're a dog owner too? That's awesome! I have a Rottweiler named Trooper."

Yuri smiled in response to my energy.

I slowly rose to my feet and stood next to Yuri while watching Piplup and Starly enjoy the new area.

"My Pokemon seem to love your garden as much as I do. It's really pretty," I complemented.

"Thank you Sioku, I work hard every day to maintain it. Gardening is my favorite hobby," Yuri responded.

Shinx woke up and stretched its body.

Yuri ruffled Shinx' fur in a playful way before slowly lowering it to the ground.

Shinx shook off and began to sniff the grass.

"I should return my Pokemon before they get too crazy," I said while opening up my Pokeballs.

"That's understandable," Yuri replied.

"Okay everyone, return!" I commanded.

All three of my Pokemon rushed back to me and let themselves get pulled inside their Pokeballs.

Yuri watched the process with amazement.

"Sioku, would you like to see me summon one of my duel monsters?" he asked.

"You bet I would," I answered gleefully.

Yuri powered up his duel disc and set three cards into a few slots.

I watched the boy with interest.

"Sioku, I'm going to show you the most toxic monster that you've ever seen!" he cheered proudly.

I sighed dreamily at the higher tone in his voice.

"He's so cute," I thought with a grin.

"First, I'll summon two of my predaplant monsters," Yuri said as he activated two cards.

The two plant-like creatures appeared in front of Yuri.

"Now I'll fuse both of my predaplants in order to summon an even stronger monster," he continued.

The two plants merged and then disappeared.

"I fusion summon... Starving Venom Fusion Dragon!" he hollered.

A massive snake-like dragon roared as it hovered in the air above Yuri and me.

I gasped in awe at the sight.

"Wo, that dragon is huge!" I exclaimed with a wide grin.

The dragon curiously stared down at me.

"This is my most powerful duel monster," Yuri informed.

In the midst of our conversation, I felt a sharp pain pierce through my chest like a knife.

My heart pounded rapidly in my chest.

I fell to the ground while holding my chest tight and breathing heavily.

"Sioku!" cried Yuri as he knelt down to my side.

I lay hopelessly on the floor and tried to catch my breath.

The boy's face contorted with fear as he stared sadly at me.

"Sioku, are you all right? What's wrong?" Yuri asked as he grabbed my hand.

I looked up at Yuri and squeezed his hand in response.

Yuri's dragon hovered in one spot and watched the scene.

"Don't worry Fusion Dragon, I'll take good care of her. I promise," Yuri assured.

Yuri lifted me onto his lap as gently as he could.

I snuggled into him for comfort.

He then wrapped his arms around me in a protective way.

I tried to relax in his warm embrace.

"Sioku, do you know what just happened to you?" Yuri asked softly.

"I just felt this sharp pain in my body out of nowhere," I answered weakly.

"Do you have an idea of where it came from?" Yuri inquired.

"I got attacked by one of Dr. Colress' Pokemon before I came here," I answered.

Yuri stood up carefully with me secured in his arms.

It's okay Sioku, my dragon and I will take you straight to the nearest infirmary. You'll feel better soon," he said softly.

"Thanks Yuri," I whispered back.

Yuri signaled for his dragon to lower itself.

He then hopped onto the dragon's back.

"Let's go Fusion Dragon," commanded Yuri.

The dragon roared as it ascended before soaring through the air.

A rush of wind pushed against us as we traveled.

I closed my eyes and let my mind drift off.

"Hang in there Sioku," said Yuri.

I nuzzled his shoulder in return.

Yuri spotted a hospital in the distance and signaled for his dragon to land near it.

The dragon circled around and searched for a landing spot before slowly descending toward the ground.

Once on the ground, Yuri dismounted while firmly holding me me in his arms.

"Fusion Dragon, please return to my deck and rest. Thanks for your help," he said.

The dragon roared before it disappeared into a card.

Yuri secured me on his back before rushing inside the building.

My muscles immediately tensed up as I recognized the familiar environment.

A nauseating scent in the air made me feel uneasy.

My entire body trembled with fear.

"Calm down Sioku," Yuri said softly.

I stared up at him in response.

After checking in at the reception desk, Yuri and I sat down on a couch in the waiting area.

Yuri soothingly held me close to him.

I clung to the boy as my breathing increased.

"You'll be all right," Yuri assured.

I buried my face into his shoulder and closed my eyes tightly.

Yuri stroked my hair in an attempt to sooth me.

"Sioku!" called the receptionist.

Yuri stood up and carried me down a hallway.

I started to twitch anxiously in Yuri's arms.

"I'm right here Sioku," he reassured.

A female nurse led us into an exam room.

"Hello young man," she greeted.

"Good afternoon ma'am," Yuri replied.

The nurse closed the door behind us.

Yuri gently laid me down on the bed.

I opened my eyes and looked around the room.

A few machines were set up around me.

Yuri stood quietly by the bedside.

"Hey Sioku, how are you feeling?" he asked gently.

"I'm scared," I whispered sadly.

Yuri affectionately wrapped his arms around me.

"I know Sioku, but you won't be alone. I'll stay right here by your side," he said with love.

"I'm glad you're here," I replied quietly.

Yuri patted my head before he released me.

"Young man, why have you brought this girl in here?" the nurse asked Yuri.

"My friend Sioku started having sharp pain in her chest," Yuri answered.

"When did this pain start happening?" the nurse inquired.

"It all started not long ago. Sioku and I were just talking when she suddenly collapsed. Sioku told me that her chest was in a lot of pain. I rushed her here as quick as possible," Yuri explained.

"Do you know what caused her chest pain?" the nurse continued.

"Sioku got shocked violently before she and I met," Yuri answered.

"Thank you sir," she responded.

The nurse typed all of the details in a report on her computer.

She then grabbed a few medical tools out of a cabinet and walked over to the bed.

I lay completely still as the nurse examined my body.

Yuri watched the examination process with interest.

"You're doing great Sioku," he praised softly.

I gave a small smile in return.

After typing more details on her computer, the nurse proceeded to check my vital signs.

I flinched when she slipped the pulse/oxygen reader on my finger.

"You're okay Sioku," Yuri assured as he placed a hand on my shoulder.

The nurse also slipped a blood pressure cuff over my right arm.

I stared at Yuri in order to distract myself from the medical equipment that I was hooked up to.

"I'm still here," Yuri reassured.

The nurse looked at Yuri and said. "Your friend's heart rate and blood pressure are elevated. We're going to keep her on the monitor for observation. Also, the doctor will be in shortly to give her some medication."

"Thank you ma'am," Yuri replied.

After removing the previous items from my body, the nurse hooked me up to a monitor by placing electrodes on my chest.

I started to twitch nervously as soon as the monitor produced beeping noises.

"Yuri... I need you," I said frantically.

"I'm here Sioku," Yuri replied as he held my hand firmly.

His touch did calm my nerves a bit which allowed me to focus on him.

I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Yuri watched the nurse as she exited my room.

A few minutes later, a male doctor entered the room.

"Good afternoon sir," greeted Yuri.

"Hello," the doctor replied.

I woke up when I felt the doctor lift my left arm up to search for a vein.

He then used a disinfectant wipe to clean my arm.

I shivered as the cold wipe rubbed against my skin.

The scent of rubbing alcohol filled the air.

I jumped in fear knowing exactly what was going to happen next.

My heart pounded rapidly in my chest.

Yuri immediately pulled me closer to him and put his other arm around me.

"Stay calm Sioku," he urged.

My upper body shook violently against him.

I stared hopelessly into his eyes.

"Don't worry Sioku, you're not going through this alone. I'm still right here for you," Yuri said.

"Excuse me young man, but is there a problem with her?" asked the doctor.

"Sioku is afraid of medical facilities," answered Yuri.

I buried my face into Yuri's chest and closed my eyes.

Yuri rubbed my back softly while still holding onto me.

"This will be over soon," he assured.

The doctor inserted an IV line in my arm and wrapped it up.

He then hooked a bag of fluid up to a machine next to me.

I tried to block out the beeping noises by focusing on Yuri's relaxing aura.

"The procedure is over now Sioku," he said softly.

I lifted my head and looked up at him.

"Yuri, thank you for staying by my side. I wouldn't have gotten through this without you," I replied.

Yuri pulled me into a tight hug as he continued. "Oh Sioku, I'm really happy to be here with you. You are my first real friend. I promise to be here for you from now on."

In the midst of our conversation, the doctor quietly left the room.

My eyes widened in surprise as I thought about Yuri's last statement.

"Hey Yuri, are you serious about me being your first friend?" I asked with a look of shock.

Yuri breathed a heavy sigh before he explained. "Yes, I've never had any friends until I met you today. When I was younger, a man named Leo Akaba took me in and raised me. All of the other children at Duel Academy have always been afraid of me because I am a skilled duelist. Before you and I met, I would normally be cold and distant toward other people. Sioku, thank you very much for bringing out my good side. You've changed my life for the better."

I used the pleasant sound of Yuri's voice to drown out the beeping noises.

"You're most welcome... Yuri," I responded with a bright smile.

Time passed by as Yuri and I continued to hold each other tight.

My heart rate gradually returned to normal.

I let out a yawn as my eyelids grew heavy.

Being in Yuri's warm embrace helped me start to calm down and relax.

I drifted into the darkness after a few minutes.
