~~Hello readers, I'm back with a new chapter.
I don't own anything from Pokemon or Yu-gi-oh Arc V.
Only my original characters belong to me.~~
It was now early evening in the Fusion Dimension.
My new friend Yuri had just taken me to a hospital after I collapsed in his garden.
I lay asleep on the bed with an IV line in my left arm.
I also had a few electrodes on my chest.
Yuri stood next to the bed with his arms around me.
He watched over me as I slept peacefully.
The nurse would come in every few minutes to check my vital signs on the monitors.
Yuri quickly released me when he heard his phone ring.
He pulled the object out of his pocket and answered it.
"Hello?" the boy said.
A man spoke to him on the other end. "Good evening Yuri, this is Jean-Michel Roget. Where are you?"
I smiled as I heard the man's voice in my sleep.
Yuri noticed that and smiled back.
"I'm at the hospital with my new friend right now. She collapsed due to sharp chest pain," he responded.
"All right Yuri, but Leo is expecting you to come home as soon as possible. You have school in the morning," Roget said sternly.
"Yes sir, but my friend hasn't been discharged by the doctors yet. Who's going to take care of her while she's recovering?" Yuri replied.
"You don't have to worry about that. I'll be over there shortly," answered Roget.
"Roget, I have one more thing to tell you. Sioku has an uncontrollable fear of medical facilities. You must keep distracting her from worrying about the machines that she's hooked up to," Yuri added.
"I'll keep that in mind," Roget responded.
"I'll see you soon," Yuri said before ending the call.
Ten minutes later, I slowly opened my eyes.
"Hi Sioku," greeted Yuri as he ruffled my hair.
"Hello Yuri," I replied with a yawn.
"How are you feeling?" he asked gently.
"I'm feeling much better now. Who were you talking to on the phone?" I responded with a curious grin.
"Roget, he's another duelist from the Fusion Dimension. He'll be here to take care of you in my place. I have to go home as soon as Roget comes in," Yuri explained.
"This Roget person's voice sounds dreamy. I already can't wait to meet him," I commented.
Yuri laughed and patted my head.
"I'm glad to see you looking well," he said.
A long period of silence passed between us.
Our moment of silence was soon interrupted by a soft knock at the door.
"Come in," responded Yuri.
The door opened to reveal a man with ash-blond hair.
His outfit consisted of a knee-length purple coat, an orange collared shirt, grey dress pants, and black dress shoes.
"Hello Roget," greeted Yuri.
Roget waved to him in return.
He walked in and sat in a chair beside the bed.
Roget paused as he caught sight of the wires on me.
"I know exactly what Yuri is talking about," he thought.
"Roget, are you okay?" asked Yuri.
"I'll be fine," the man answered with a sigh.
I turned to my left and looked at him.
"Good evening sir, you must be Jean-Michel Roget. My name is Sioku Marie," I said with a smile.
Roget smiled back and replied. "Yes, I sure am. Are you Yuri's new friend?"
I simply nodded in response.
This man's voice sounded wonderful up close.
I forgot all about the medical equipment that I was hooked up to in this peaceful moment.
Roget's presence made all of my worries disappear.
"Sioku, are you familiar with dueling?" asked Roget.
I let Roget's voice sink into my mind.
"Not really, Yuri showed me one of his monsters earlier. I loved watching him summon it," I answered happily.
"Where did you come from?" Roget inquired.
Before I could answer the man's question, Shinx popped out of its Pokeball and shook off.
My cheeks pinked up as I gasped.
"Shinx, what are you doing out of your Pokeball?" I asked with a hint of panic in my voice.
Shinx wagged its tail while staring at Roget.
Roget curiously studied Shinx' features.
"What's going on?" asked Yuri.
"My Pokemon likes Roget," I answered before laughing.
"That's cute," Yuri commented.
"Sioku, your creature is quite adorable," complemented Roget as he petted Shinx' head.
"My Shinx loves people," I responded.
Shinx climbed into Roget's lap and sat down.
Roget stroked the Pokemon affectionately.
"Roget, I apologize for my Pokemon's interruption. I come from the Sinoh Region, and it's a place in the Pokemon World. I was transported here by a mysterious portal before I met Yuri in his garden. The portal vanished after I landed," I explained.
A brief period of silence passed by in the room as Roget thought to himself.
"Roget, what are you thinking?" asked Yuri.
"Sioku, do you have any electronic devices with you?" Roget inquired as he looked at me.
I carefully pulled myself up into a sitting position.
"Yes, I have a cell phone and my Pokedex with me. I'll let you see them," I answered while unzipping my bag.
I presented both of my devices to Roget who stared at them thoughtfully.
Roget pointed to my Pokedex and asked. "May I check that one out?"
"Of course," I answered while handing it to him.
Roget examined the object with full concentration.
"That machine stores information about different species of Pokemon," I informed.
"That's neat," commented Yuri.
"Sioku, this device of yours is quite interesting. I may be able to upgrade it and add a dimensional transport function," he said.
Roget handed the device back to me.
I carefully placed it in my bag.
"Are you serious?" I asked in awe.
"Yes, I can definitely make changes to it that will help you get back home. You'll also be able to return to the Fusion Dimension and travel to the other three dimensions," he answered.
"Roget is an expert at working on all kinds of technology," Yuri pointed out.
"That's good to know," I replied.
I gently placed my hands around Shinx' body.
"Come on Shinx, you should return to your Pokeball. You can come out later," I said smoothly.
Shinx let out a low warning growl.
"Don't growl at me," I said sternly.
As I started to lift Shinx into my arms, I got zapped by a few electric sparks.
Yuri giggled as he watched the scene.
"You think this is funny Yuri?" Roget asked sternly.
Yuri paused with a frown of disappointment.
"No sir," he answered timidly.
I couldn't help but grin at the look on Yuri's face.
He looked so cute and innocent.
"Calm down Roget, it didn't hurt that bad. I mess with Shinx on purpose sometimes," I interrupted.
Roget and Yuri chuckled at my last statement.
I opened up a Pokeball and commanded. "Shinx, return."
Shinx bowed its head and let itself get pulled inside the Pokeball.
"Sioku, are you all right?" asked Roget.
"You don't have to worry about me Roget. I've been zapped by Shinx before," I answered casually.
"Yuri, it's time for you to go home now. I'll take Sioku to my place as soon as she gets discharged from here. You may visit her after school tomorrow," said Roget as he pointed at the boy.
Yuri lowered his head sadly.
"It's okay Yuri, I'll be just fine with Roget. I promise," I assured.
"I know Sioku, but I'm going to miss you very much. I'll come back to you as soon as I can," Yuri replied.
Yuri and I pulled each other into a tight embrace.
"I hope you have a good night's rest," he whispered.
"Same to you," I whispered back.
Yuri and I slowly released each other before he stepped away from me.
"Please take good care of Sioku for me," he said to Roget.
"Your friend is in good hands," Roget replied.
Yuri took one last look at me before he reluctantly walked out the door.
Roget and I were now alone in the room.
I stared at him in order to prevent myself from thinking about my current situation.
"Sioku, what caused you to be in so much pain?" asked Roget.
"I got zapped badly by one of my pursuer's Pokemon before I came here," I answered.
"That doesn't sound good at all. Why are you being pursued?" Roget Continued.
"Team Plasma has been after my healing power for a while," I answered quietly.
"Why does this Team Plasma want your power? Also, how would they get it if you were ever in their captivity?" Roget inquired.
"Dr. Colress plans to extract my blood," I said fearfully.
Roget put a hand on my shoulder and replied smoothly. "You don't have to worry Sioku, those guys won't get you while I'm around. You'll be safe with me."
"Thank you Roget," I whispered.
In the midst of our conversation, the IV machine began to beep.
I bowed my head and closed my eyes.
Chills covered my body at an alarming rate.
I tried to control my racing heart by breathing deeply.
"What's wrong Sioku?" asked Roget.
He was only met with silence.
"Is there anything I can do for you?" Roget added.
I shook my head and looked away.
Roget's voice couldn't bring me back.
"Come here Sioku," said Roget as he gently pulled me closer to him.
I snuggled against his chest for comfort.
"Sioku, Yuri warned me about your fear. I'm here to help you with that as well," he said softly.
I looked up at him but didn't say anything.
A long period of silence passed by as I tried to relax in Roget's embrace.
A knock at the door suddenly caught our attention.
"Come in," responded Roget.
That same doctor entered the room.
"Good evening sir," he said to Roget.
"Same to you," Roget replied.
The doctor checked my vital signs on the monitors.
He then turned to Roget and said. "This child's condition has improved since she received the medication. Her stats are looking great."
"That's good news," Roget replied.
"Will she have a place to go when I discharge her?" asked the doctor.
"Yes sir, I'll take her to my place. Sioku will stay with me while she's in the Fusion Dimension," Roget explained.
"The child seems to be very comfortable with you," the doctor commented.
He then proceeded to remove the wires from my body.
I jolted as I felt the wires moving.
Roget lovingly tightened his hold on me.
"You're okay Sioku," he assured.
I immediately felt a sense of relief as soon as all of the wires had been taken off of me.
Roget lifted me onto his lap.
I wrapped my arms around him and laid my head on his shoulder.
The man rubbed my back in a soothing way.
"It's all over now Sioku," he said gently.
I took a deep relaxing breath.
My heart rate finally returned to a normal rhythm.
The doctor filled out some paperwork before handing the packet to Roget.
Roget slipped the paper into his bag.
"Sioku is free to go home with you," he said.
"Thanks doc," Roget replied as he stood up.
Roget carried me out of the room before exiting the hospital.
He then lowered me to the ground carefully.
I stood on the sidewalk next to him.
The night was mostly quiet.
There weren't many cars driving on the street.
The fresh air helped me relax almost instantly.
I was relieved to be out of the hospital.
Roget led me down the sidewalk and into a parking lot.
We stopped beside a red car.
Roget unlocked the doors before helping me get situated in the passenger seat.
He then climbed into the driver's side and started the engine.
I stared out the window as we drove away.
Our ride was mostly silent until Shinx decided to pop out of its Pokeball.
My cheeks automatically flushed with embarrassment.
"I did not give you permission to come out of your Pokeball," I whispered to my Pokemon.
Shinx rested its front paws on the door and looked out the window.
"Sioku, what's going on?" asked Roget.
Shinx' ears perked up at the sound of Roget's voice.
"Shinx came out of its Pokeball again," I answered with a sigh.
"Please feel free to leave your creature out. It's not bothering me," Roget said with a smile.
I breathed a sigh of relief in response.
A long period of silence passed by as I relaxed with Shinx on my lap.
I pulled out my phone and sent Yuri a text message to let him know that I was finally out of the hospital.
Yuri responded: That's great! I'll see you tomorrow.
Shinx laid down in my lap and fell asleep.
I petted the Pokemon's fur softly and slipped deep into my thoughts.
Roget parked his car in front of a huge house.
I opened up Shinx' Pokeball and said quietly. "Shinx, it's time to return."
Shinx woke up and let itself get pulled into the ball.
After climbing out, Roget opened the passenger door and helped me exit the car.
I hugged the man in return.
As Roget and I walked across the front lawn, a medium sized dog came into our view.
My eyes lit up with joy at the sight.
"That dog is beautiful," I commented.
"I'm glad to know that you're a dog person," Roget responded.
The dog happily pushed himself in between Roget and me while wagging his tail.
His long fur brushed up against me.
I rubbed the dog under his floppy ears.
"Hi Fusion," said Roget as he petted the dog.
Fusion shook off in response.
"Hey Roget, Yuri told me about this dog. Does he belong to both of you?" I said curiously.
"Yes Sioku, Yuri and Leo live in the same building as I do. Yuri and I take turns caring for Fusion. Fusion stays with me while Yuri is at school," Roget explained.
Roget led Fusion and me up a flight of stairs and into a large building.
I couldn't help but giggle at the sound of Fusion's heavy panting.
Fusion reminded me of my dog at home.
After going up a second flight of stairs, we stopped at the door to an apartment.
Roget unlocked the door and led us inside.
I explored the apartment while following Fusion around.
Roget watched us from a distance.
The small apartment contained a bedroom, two bathrooms, a living room, a dining area, and a kitchen.
Fusion led me into the living room where I sat down on a couch.
I tapped on the empty space beside me and said. "Fusion, come up here."
Fusion climbed onto the couch and laid down beside me.
He let out a relaxed sigh.
I wrapped my arms around the dog and held him tight.
Fusion closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Roget situated himself on the opposite couch.
"Sioku, I'm so glad to see that you and Fusion are getting along. He really likes you," he said.
"I really like Fusion too. He's a sweet dog," I replied with a yawn.
"There's a blanket behind your head that you can use," Roget added as he pointed to the back of the couch.
"Thank you sir," I said as I picked up the blue fuzzy blanket.
I set my bag down on the floor before unfolding the blanket.
Then I laid down and curled up next to Fusion.
Roget watched over me until I drifted off to sleep.
He then stood up and went into his bedroom.
Fusion and I slept through the night.
~Morning~
I woke up to the sunlight shining through the windows.
Fusion lay asleep beside me.
I petted the dog while lost in thought.
A long period of silence passed by.
The silence was soon broken when I heard the bedroom door open.
Fusion woke up and lifted his head.
"Hi Fusion," I said while petting him.
The dog sat up and shook his head.
I laughed and hugged Fusion tightly.
Roget walked into the living room.
"Good morning Sioku," he greeted.
"Same to you Roget," I responded.
Fusion hopped off the couch and ran toward Roget while wagging his tail wildly.
Roget smiled and ruffled the dog's fur.
He then sat down on the opposite couch.
Fusion sat on the floor next to him.
I stared dreamily into Roget's eyes.
He looked absolutely wonderful.
Being in Roget's calming presence made me forget all about my recent hospital visit.
"Sioku, how did you sleep last night?" asked Roget.
"I slept very well thanks to Fusion. You and Yuri have trained your dog well," I answered happily.
"Fusion likes to be a therapy dog," Roget added.
In the midst of our conversation, we heard a knock at the door.
"Come in," said Roget.
Fusion ran toward the door while panting.
"Hold on!" hollered Roget as he raced after Fusion.
He grabbed Fusion by the harness and quickly pulled him back.
"You may enter now," Roget said as he held the harness firmly.
The door opened to reveal Yuri standing in the entrance.
Fusion started to wag his tail against Roget's leg as soon as he saw Yuri.
"Good morning Roget," greeted Yuri as he stepped inside the apartment.
My ears perked up at the sound of Yuri's voice.
"Same to you Yuri," Roget replied.
Yuri then closed the door behind him.
Roget let go of Fusion's harness.
Fusion excitedly stood up on his hind legs and rested his front paws on Yuri's shoulders.
"I'm glad to see you too Fusion," Yuri said as he hugged the dog.
"Hey Roget, where is Sioku?" asked Yuri as he scanned the area.
"She's in the living room," Roget answered while pointing to the couch.
Yuri gently lowered Fusion to the ground.
Fusion shook off before walking to his water bowl.
I stood up as I saw Yuri enter the living room.
"Yuri!" I hollered while running toward the boy.
"Hey Sioku," said Yuri as he pulled me into a hug.
I gladly returned the embrace and snuggled into him.
"You look great this morning," Yuri complemented.
"Thanks, I got plenty of rest last night as soon as Roget and I came home. Fusion slept on the couch with me," I responded.
"I'm glad that you and Fusion got to meet," Yuri added.
"Pardon me Yuri, but shouldn't you be at school?" Roget interrupted.
"No, school doesn't start for another hour. I came here early to check on Sioku," Yuri answered.
"That's very thoughtful of you," Roget said.
Yuri and I slowly released each other before we sat down on the couch.
Fusion started to sniff the floor as he walked in circles.
"Yuri, I need to take the dog outside. Would you mind staying with Sioku?" said Roget.
"Not at all," Yuri answered with a smile.
Roget clipped a leash onto Fusion's harness before they exited his apartment.
Yuri and I were now by ourselves.
The boy put a hand on my shoulder and asked. "How did the rest of your hospital visit go?"
"Fine until I had a minor panic attack," I answered with a disappointed expression.
"What happened?" Yuri inquired.
"The IV machine randomly started beeping during my conversation with Roget," I answered with a sigh.
Yuri pulled me into an affectionate embrace and said. "I'm sorry Sioku, I really wish Roget allowed me to stay longer."
"Thanks Yuri, your support means a lot to me. I would've wanted you to stay as well," I replied smoothly.
A long period of silence passed by as I relaxed in Yuri's arms.
"Yuri," I said suddenly.
"Yes Sioku?" Yuri replied softly.
"How do you cope with being alone at school?" I inquired.
"Being alone doesn't bother me at all. I've gone my whole life without having friends until I met you," Yuri answered plainly.
"I hope to change that because nobody should be completely alone. Everybody deserves to have at least one friend by their side," I added sincerely.
"Sioku, do you really mean that?" Yuri asked as he perked up.
I lovingly put one hand on Yuri's cheek.
"Yes, you were the first person to save me when I landed in the Fusion Dimension. I really enjoy spending time with you. Thank you for being my friend," I answered passionately.
"You're welcome Sioku," he whispered in my ear.
The energy between Yuri and me felt so real.
I removed my hand from Yuri's face and laid my head on his chest.
The steady rise and fall of Yuri's chest allowed me to let my mind wander.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.
This moment that I spent with Yuri was pure bliss.
I couldn't have imagined a better feeling.
Yuri looked down at me with an adoring expression.
"I'm glad I met you Sioku," he said.
I nuzzled his shoulder in return.
Our moment was suddenly interrupted when the front door opened.
Roget entered the apartment with Fusion walking beside him.
"Hi Fusion," I said while staring at the dog.
Fusion wagged his tail in return.
Yuri and I released each other.
"Hello you too," greeted Roget.
"Hi Roget, did you and Fusion enjoy your walk?" I replied.
Roget unclipped the leash from Fusion's harness.
Fusion shook off before plopping down on the floor.
He let out an exhausted sigh.
"Yes, but this dog has a lot of energy. He practically dragged me around the whole park. I almost couldn't keep up with him," Roget answered breathlessly.
"That sounds like something my dog would do. He's a Rottweiler," I commented.
"Those dogs must be hyper," said Yuri.
"Yuri, Rottweilers are very hyper. My dog Trooper has a lot of energy. It gets away from him way too fast," I explained.
"I want to meet your dog someday," Yuri responded.
I laughed at the sound of Fusion's quiet panting.
"Fusion looks tired," I pointed out.
"He'll be sleeping for a while," replied Roget.
Time passed by as Yuri and I relaxed on the couch.
Fusion remained asleep on the floor.
"Yuri, it's time for you to go to school now. We'll see you later," said Roget.
"Yes sir," replied Yuri.
Yuri and I pulled each other into an affectionate hug.
"Good bye Yuri, I hope you have a good day at school. I'll be here when you come back," I said.
"Good bye Sioku, I hope you and Roget have fun. I'll be back after school," Yuri replied.
Yuri stood up as soon as he released me.
I watched him as he walked out the door.
Roget calmly approached the couch before sitting down in an empty space next to me.
I immediately sensed a strong surge of hyper energy between us.
"Hello Roget, what brings you over here?" I asked with a delighted smile.
Roget put his arm around me as he answered. "Sioku, I want to take you to one of my favorite restaurants."
I happily snuggled into him.
"Really? That's awesome!" I responded cheerfully.
Roget laughed as he ruffled my hair.
I let out a content sigh in response.
"Pardon me sir, but is Fusion going to be okay in here by himself?" I asked with slight concern.
"Yes Sioku, you don't have to worry. Fusion has plenty of food and water. He'll be just fine," Roget answered smoothly.
I stood up and help Roget get back on his feet.
"Thank you Sioku," he said graciously.
"You're welcome sir," I replied.
I picked up my bag and secured it over my shoulder.
Roget led me out of his apartment and down the stairs.
After exiting the building, Roget and I climbed into his car and drove away.
Fifteen minutes later, we pulled into the parking lot of a restaurant.
As soon as the car came to a complete stop, Roget hopped out and then helped me exit the passenger side.
The fresh air felt very relaxing.
Roget slowly led me up the sidewalk.
The sound of traffic pulled me into my thoughts.
A cool breeze blew toward us as we entered the building.
The scent of breakfast foods filled the air.
I heard many conversations going on at once.
After checking in at the counter, Roget led me to a table with two seats.
I sat across from him.
Roget handed me a menu and said. "You may choose whichever meal you want."
"Thank you sir," I replied.
I looked at some of the options while flipping through the menu.
A waitress came over to the table and took our drink orders.
I decided to start a conversation with Roget as we waited. "Hey Roget, have you been to another dimension?"
Roget smiled and answered. "Yes, I've been to the Syncro Dimension. The duelists there use a duel runner to participate in turbo duels."
"Wow, that sounds like a lot of fun. I want to go there someday," I added.
"I'll take you for a ride," Roget offered.
"I would love that," I responded with a smile.
The waitress returned with our drinks and set them down on the table.
She then took our food orders before leaving again.
"Roget, is it easy to travel to other dimensions?" I asked curiously.
Yes, but you must use the dimensional transporter very carefully. Being reckless with it could put you in an unknown dimension," he answered with a serious expression.
I sat still with a look of shock.
"Are you okay Sioku?" asked Roget.
"Yes, I was just surprised by what you told me. I'll be fine," I answered casually.
"I didn't mean to scare you," Roget said sympathetically.
"I was just concerned about both of us," I replied sincerely.
In the midst of our conversation, the waitress returned to the table while carrying our food.
She then set the tray down before hurrying to another table.
~Time Skip~
Roget and I had just finished our meal.
Before we could leave the restaurant, Roget paid for our meals at the counter.
Roget and I then exited the restaurant.
He led me down the sidewalk toward his car.
A light breeze blew through my hair.
I slipped deep into my thoughts as I relaxed under the warm sun.
