I've been wanting to write a Mother's Day fic for Della for a while, here it is!

Louie walked into their bedroom and, when his brothers didn't immediately look at him, cleared his throat, "Hey, guys? I need help."

Huey glanced up with a mix of concern and skepticism. "Are you okay, or is this another scheme?"

"It's a plan, not a scheme."

"What're we doing?" Dewey asked, already on board.

"I want to do something for mom for Mother's Day."

"Oh, oh yeah!" Dewey lit up with excitement.

On the other hand, Huey developed a look of guilt.

"What's wrong, Hubert, you don't want to do something for mom?" Louie asked, crossing his arms.

"I just can't believe I forgot," Huey said, looking beat up about it.

"Well, it's not like we had a mom before," Dewey pointed out.

"Yeah, why would you remember? Don't worry about it, Huey. She wouldn't get mad at you for forgetting."

Huey smiled hesitantly at his brothers.

"Yeah, you're right. So what's your plan?"

Louie's plan was two-fold, and to pull it off they had to recruit a few more helping hands.

First, they had to plan their diversion. In Huey's nicest calligraphy, they invited Della to join them for a Mother's Day breakfast at a lovely cafe in Duckburg. Then, while they were at breakfast their secret agents (Webby, Scrooge, and Launchpad) would sneak into the houseboat and execute phase two.

Phase one went off without a hitch. Della was already overjoyed and overwhelmed to be treated to Mother's Day breakfast by her boys. For so many years she'd been unable to be there for them, so it wouldn't have been too unbelievable if they didn't want to celebrate someone who hadn't been there. But they did.

After breakfast, Louie innocently suggested they go back to the houseboat to hang out. Della was eager to keep the family bonding going and quickly agreed, suggesting board games they could play together when they got back.

"Whatever you want, mom," Dewey said, barely containing his excitement.

Seeing Dewey's uncontrollable grin, Della got an inkling that something else was going on. But she wasn't expecting what was waiting for her at the houseboat.

The whole place was decked out in photos, some of things that had happened before Della had come back, some of things that had happened after. Over a hundred happy Duck family memories.

"We're really glad you're back, mom. We thought you might want to see some of the things you missed," Louie explained.

"And, see just how perfectly you fit into our crazy family," Dewey added.

"Happy Mother's Day," Huey concluded, just in time for Della to scoop all of them into her arms. It was a happy Mother's Day. Every single one from here on out would be.
