[Two months later]
[MC Point of View]
I was at my usual training spot as a satisfied smile painted my face.
"Well with this I can say I have mastered my blue flames" I could feel Ddraig's blank stare at my statement.
[You think?] He asked sarcastically eliciting a chuckle from my lips.
"Definitely" I replied watching as my blue fire danced all over the clearing including the trees burning absolutely nothing.
Controlling what things could burn and what not had been the last part of my training to control my fire and I had accomplished it just recently.
[Don't let it go to your head] Ddraig scolded me as I shook my head.
I snapped my fingers and the flames disappeared.
There are still flames much more powerful than mine, but I can still make my fire stronger.
I said it before and I say it now I will make my fire more powerful than divine fire, though there is still a long way to go.
"Let me enjoy my achievement" I replied to the soul in my Sacred Gear with a smile as my eyes showed no longer reflected joy.
"How many are there?" I asked mentally trying to contain my nervousness.
[Three, one is further away than the others are around middle class] He answered me as I let out a sigh relaxing my muscles.
My senses had told me the same thing, but it was good to get confirmation.
This was going to be my first confrontation with supernatural beings excluding Ddraig.
I had to calm down, while it was possible that conflict wouldn't break out I wouldn't bet on it.
Still I couldn't help but curse myself.
During these years the first thing I had learned to do was to hide my magic and aura to avoid being discovered by beings of any faction.
Ddraig had taught me to make barriers that keep magic from feeling out of them and keep normal people away.
Barriers I forgot to put up today.
In the excitement of finishing my training with my fire, I was careless.
I had not forgotten the dangers of Kuoh in spite of everything.
This city was controlled by demons Cleria Belial was their current governor or would be soon if I remembered correctly but there was also exorcist so I was always extremely careful with every step I took, I didn't want them to try to kill me or recruit me into any of their factions.
[No time for regrets] Ddraig warned me as I nodded he was right.
I had to be vigilant.
I was refusing to die today.
The question was who was coming?
Demons? Exorcists? or someone else?
The answer came quickly as two figures appeared in the clearing.
They were devils.
I wasn't prejudiced and thought the whole species was evil, I mean from what I saw in the anime and novels Sirzechs, Serafall, Ajuka, Sairaog, Rias and several others weren't really evil, a bit manipulative in some cases, but not evil even Raiser despite being a jerk wasn't completely evil.
That didn't change that at least a good number of his race were bastards.
"Can I help you gentlemen?" I asked with a polite smile on my face.
It was obviously fake, but I wasn't going to point it out to them.
"This child is perfect for Naberius-sama's experiments" The first one commented with a look I wasn't going to bother remembering.
Who cares about dead people.
"Right, maybe I should have a little fun with him before I take him." Smiled the other one as he leered at me.
Oh hell, homosexual demons are a thing.
"In your dreams asshole" I growled I was definitely going to kill them both.
Neither said anything and they lunged in my direction.
The clearly homosexual demon was possibly a carrier of a knight piece, his speed was far superior to the others and he could feel the energy of an evil piece in his soul.
My detection skills were clearly better than I thought.
Still, despite all that.
He was so fucking slow.
Seriously as I thought about all this the idiot had barely arrived in front of me, apparently he intended to grab my neck.
I gathered magic in my fist in the form of pure energy and released a beam of said energy in the direction of the chest of the damn turtle whose arm was about to touch my neck.
As if I was going to let this asshole touch me.
The result was immediate.
The energy beam pierced the chest of my opponent who fell to the ground without further ceremony.
Even to fall was slow.
Still, seeing the life leave his eyes was a bit unsettling.
The other guy looked surprised before his eyes widened with what was clearly fear.
Had he really been nervous about these guys?
Without giving him time to do anything I simply ran in front of him in what must have been a blur of speed for this jerk.
My nails sharpened into claws as I did this.
Advantages of being a dragon, you have claws.
"Stop" was all he managed to stammer out before a vertical swipe of my claws smashed his head in.
"That was disappointing" I commented dryly with clear disappointment on my face.
[Issei] Ddraig warned me before I nodded.
In the sky a woman with clearly demon wings had just thrown a rather large fireball at me.
I guess she was the bishop of that Naberius.
But a fireball, really?
If I remember correctly Naberios was the guy that Kuroka would kill soon, so it won't be a problem later on.
Blue flames covered my right hand before I turned it into a fist and threw it in a burst of blue fire in the direction of my last opponent.
Said blast of fire blew away the fireball as if it wasn't even in the way and without letting him do anything the fire charred it in seconds leaving no trace of it.
She couldn't even scream.
I snapped my fingers and my flames appeared destroying the bodies of my other two opponents leaving only a smell of burning flesh in the clearing.
I repeat again, that was disappointing.
I didn't even have to use the Boosted Gear.
I blinked before realizing a disturbing fact.
I just killed three people in a fucking brutal way if I might add and I don't care.
"Ddraig Shouldn't I be going crazy for killing those guys so mercilessly?". I asked only earning an uncomfortable silence from the former dragon.
[They were your enemies, as a dragon it's only natural that you feel nothing for killing them] I speak calmly.
"..." I remained silent, not knowing what exactly to say.
[Your survival instincts told you it was easier to finish them off so they could never be a problem even though they were so weak they weren't worth your time, you couldn't stop yourself due to the fact that it was the first time you fought with a real danger and you weren't exactly against the idea of killing them either]
He paused for a second letting me absorb the information before continuing.
[You identified them as enemies and that's why you don't care how you ended up with them, just that you did it, it doesn't mean you're going to become a homicidal maniac, you didn't enjoy it, but you didn't care either, they were just in your way and that's why you took care of them]
[It doesn't mean you are going to kill all your enemies, only the ones you consider deserve death regardless of your instincts telling you that it would be best to kill them all, you will learn to control that as you grow up or at least you better do it so you don't become an evil dragon].
After being silent for a few more seconds I just nodded with a sigh.
I didn't like the idea of killing, but it was true.
I am no longer fully human, I let my instincts take over and I don't regret it.
While I will not let them overpower me to kill everything in my path there was one thing I knew for certain.
In this world mercy was a luxury only idiots gave to their enemies.
If I let one of these idiots escape I would have a wanted poster all over the underworld in a few hours.
Which would force me to go into hiding, even worse if they found out I was the Sekiryuutei I would be hunted relentlessly.
To be kind to my enemy is to be cruel to myself.
I refused to die for being too kind and sparing the life of someone who doesn't deserve it.
This was my life, not a story or a video game where I could simply reset, this was my only life and if to preserve it I had to accumulate a mountain of corpses so be it.
I closed my eyes, letting this determination sink into my brain.
"Ddraig Do you know something?" I asked after a few minutes a little amused.
[What thing?] I ask curiously as I materialized the Boosted Gear again.
"You were absolutely right to move to the next level, the most important thing is to have a change or motivation strong enough to allow me to activate it" I commented with a chuckle as I let my energy increase while the Sacred Gem glowed green.
A prayer came out of my mouth.
"Balance Breaker."
Ddraig's powerful voice echoed throughout the clearing.
[Welsh Dragon Balance Breaker]
When the glow ceased I was covered in red armor with a big smile plastered on my face.
"Now this is where the fun begins."
