"What?" I wasn't sure if I heard that correctly.

"I was confused, Bella. I like you, but I had been in a relationship with Victoria for quite a long time." Jacob said, "Then we met in New York and it kind of brought back all the old memories."

I was fuming with anger. He was telling me that he cheated on me with his long-time ex-girlfriend with such an ease as if it wasn't a big deal!

"I really like you, Bella." he continued, "I'm not lying. I really have feelings for you. It's just that it hasn't been long since Victoria and I broke up, so it kind of just happened. I'm really sorry."

"Are you fucking kidding me?" I asked with disbelief, "What do you mean it kind of just happened?"

"Well, it just happened. It hasn't been long since we've started dating, that's why it's normal that we've some confusion about our feelings. Well, isn't that the reason you also went on a movie date with your friend? It's normal. Maybe you guys didn't click, that's why nothing more happened there."

"Excuse me?" I said with disbelief, "I didn't go on a movie date with anyone. I was supposed to go with you, but you ditched me, and I know the reason now. I met my friend there and we thought it was okay if we watched a movie together as both of us were alone. Don't you even dare compare this to what you've done." I said furiously.

"Well, okay." he said, "I thought we're being honest here, that's why you told me the truth about your movie date. That's the reason I also decided to be honest with you. Just think about it. You wouldn't even have known that I had slept with her if I didn't tell you.""

"Oh, thank you so much for your honesty!" I said sarcastically.

"Come on, now!" he said, "Don't make this a big deal. We like each other and we can make this work. It was a one time thing."

"Jacob, let's end this here." I said.

I was furious at him, but I was even more furious at myself. How did I always end up with such jerks? The only nice boyfriend I had was back in high school. Too bad, he was already married!

My love life sucked, and I truly believed it was always going to be like this.

I did end up joining Edward's company, but a year and half later! I had decided to continue with my previous company as I had got a promotion and also a good deal in the negotiation there.

A lot had changed in the last year and a half!

Edward got married to... Tanya six months back! I didn't know why and how that happened, but they seemed happy with each other. It was none of my business, but I couldn't help wondering why he would get married to Tanya in the whole world? They were very different people, and even their life goals also seemed very different to me! I had gossiped with Alice shamelessly about what could be the possible reason, but we couldn't figure out why he'd do so.

Tanya did seem to have changed a bit from the High school days though! She seemed a bit less snobbish now!

Anyway, they seemed happy with each other, so it should not really be my business.

Edward also had changed a lot. He was more focused and seemed more serious about everything now. His company was getting bigger with each passing day, so maybe he was too busy to fool around now.

My love life also had changed for the better. I was dating Riley Biers now. He didn't seem like an asshole yet, so that was good news!

"I know that we're not able to hit the target, but my question is, why?" Edward asked in the meeting. He was frustrated and angry for some reason.

"Well, Edward, I have shared the results with you before," Tyler said.

"Yes, I saw them, but it's not exactly what I've asked for," Edward replied.

"Well, the document has everything you had asked for," Tyler was also getting frustrated now.

"I had asked for five 'why's, and I don't see the answer for each of them," he said.

"Oh well, you didn't make yourself clear earlier," Tyler snapped.

Alright, this was turning into a heated discussion!

Well, Edward would usually be right, but not today! I wasn't sure why but he was behaving very strangely today. He seemed frustrated for some reason, and he was taking out his frustration on everyone!

"Actually I think..." I was about to chime in when Edward received a call that was going to change everything!

"What?" he said as he answered the call, "How? Where?"
