Chapter Forty-Six
To Tame The Beast
A/N: WARNING-The character known as Sage Amesawa uses a lot of profanity and colorful language as part of his "colorful" personality. Be prepared if you are sensitive to that. Please note it is not because I condone such manner of speech, and also the character does not mean to use it as a way to be harmful, it is just his personality.
"I...am an Avenger..."
Those words shit chills through to Saseme like needles dripping ice in her heated veins...
Sasuke...
What did that guy do to you back there...?
She wondered as she looked back at the initial snake man who had attacked them before she blacked out.
He wasn't like this before then...
She tried to take a step forward but Sage gently pushed her back.
"I don't think that's a good idea." Sage said to her.
"Back down Sage-" she growled, "That's my brother-"
"But do you feel that!?"
Saseme twitched.
"He's right..." said Hana, "This chakra...it's not normal...it's deadly...it's dangerous..."
Dangerous?
Saseme blinked.
"B-But...he's my...brother..."
...He wouldn't hurt me...right...?
"I'm an Avanger." Sasuke repeated, "To follow my path I must have power at any price...even if it means being consumed by evil..."
"Consumed by evil...?" Saseme gulped.
An Avanger...Sasuke...have you still not given up on going after our brother...?
"I see..." Dosu shivered.
Those marks on his body...they are a curse mark...
he gulped.
Who would think he would survive...
No...MORE than survive...
"Now, Sakura...tell me." Sasuke growled out, leering at the enemy with Sharingan eyes...
"Which one of these people did that to you...?"
"Hmph...that would be Me." Zaku smirked.
Sasuke's eyes shot over and leered taking a slow turn toward his target.
Shikamaru called for his team's return to take cover.
"They've got the right idea." said Sage, "We should take cover too...we don't want to get involved in this."
"But what's going on!?" huffed Hana, "Saseme!?"
"How should I know!?" Saseme snipped back, nervously clenching her teeth.
But whatever it is...this isn't the brothe I know...
"Wh-What is this..." Dosu gulped, beginning to tremble under the immense pressure of Sasuke's new found power...
This changes everything...
he thought to himself.
His chakra is too big...too powerful...
We can't fight that!
"Dosu! What's the matter!? You're not getting cold feet, are you?"
"No! Zaku! You don't understand!"
"Watch me!" Zaku grinned, "I'll take care of the whole lot of them in one fell swoop!"
"This isn't good!" said Sage, instantly lifting his female commerades in each arm of him.
"Sage, what are you doing!?" Saseme huffed.
"Getting the fuck out of dodge that's what!"
"But-"
There was no time to argue- he had already taken them for cover, and her further and further from Sasuke-
"SUPER SONIC SLICING WAVE!" the man screamed, and nearly brought the whole surrounding forest down with it, along with everone within the trees and shrubbery...
When the smoke had cleared...Zaku was left standing, panting and out of breath, a good sized dibbit carved out in front of him as he smirked.
"What do you know...?" he scoffed, "Blew them all away!"
"Not quite..." came Sasuke's voice, followed by a sharp jab that through Zaku across the dirt.
"Such speed..." said Dosu, "He got both of his team mates out of harms way...in the blink of an eye!"
"Fire style: Pheonix Flower Jutsu!"
"Nice try!" Zaku huffed and aimed his hands to blow them of...
but within the flames- were shuriken.
"Zaku! Below you!" Dosu tried to warn him...but Sasuke had already captured him under the guise of a low sweep...arms pulled back and tugged with his foot pressing in on his back.
"Holy shit-" Sage gasped, "Saseme...does bad assery just rin in your blood line or what!?"
This Chakra...
Saseme thought to herself chillingly.
This is different from my brother's usual power...
She pondered.
It's far more fierce...much more dark...
Her eyes narrowed as she pressed her trembling teeth tighter together.
...Is this REALLY my brother!?
"You seem to be really fond of these arms of yours..." Sasuke said through a wicked grin, "You must be...quite attached to them~"
Saseme gasped, watching her brother nearly rip Zaku's arms away...he broke them both and let the man dropped...
Suddenly...somehow...whenever she looked at her brother...
"...All I see Red...Sasuke..."
"Jeez that was fucking brutal..." Sage shivered, before taking notice of his trembling Uchiha team mate.
...Saseme?"
"No..." Saseme trembled out softly, "I don't know who that is..." she whispered, calling back bits and pieces of packaged memories...
But whoever that is...
It's NOT Sasuke...
That...monster...is definitly NOT my brother...!
"NO!" Sakura's voice cut through snapping Saseme back to reality and onto the scene at hand, watching the girl run, "STOP IT!" she cried, into an embrace around the boy.
"Please...stop..." she sniffed.
Sakura...
Saseme thought to herself...feeling waves of relief when she she watched her brother soon after fade back to his original visage from the black markings that had earlier on completely wrapped themselves around his body.
Thank goodness...
She sighed in relief, falling heavily onto her trembling knees as her brother too, fell heavily into Sakura's arms.
"You're strong, Sasuke..." said Dosu, "Too strong...we can't hope to defeat you like this...the way you are now...so...let's strike a deal." he said softly as he placed a scroll on the ground.
"I'll give you this scroll and you let us go." he heaved a heavy sigh as he struggled to gather his fallen companions, "...It would seem we underestimated you." he stated, "But at least we found out what we needed to know..."
What they needed to know?
Saseme questioned.
Just what was it that they needed to know about Sasuke?
she wondered.
But at this moment Dosu was already walking away...
However it seemed Saseme wasn't the only one with questions...
"Who is this Orochimaru anyway!?" said Sakura, " What did he do to Sasuke!? And Why Sasuke!?"
Orochimau...?
Saseme blinked.
That name sounds all too familiar...
She thought to herself.
I'm certain I have heard it once more before...somewhere else...!
...But Where?
"...I don't know." said Dosu, in response to Sakura's question, "All I know is that we were told to target Sasuke...and we did."
And with that...The sound Ninja were soon gone.
"Looks like that's it then..." said Sage with a heavy sigh, "They're gone...it should be safe now..."
"...Yeah..." that was the girl' response...before from her knees, her weight shifted, moving to fall from the limb her team was resting on...
"Shit- SASEME!"
"Sage, you Dumbass!" Hana huffed.
Sage gasped, just barely missing her catch until a white flash appeared and she fell into the arms of Neji Hyuuga, who had brought her down safely landing on his feet and resting her exhaused and unconscious body against the tree she fell from.
"Thanks man..." said Sage dropping down beside her with Hana in tow, "We owe ya a lot-"
"Hmph." The Hyuga huffed and said no word further, turning to glance at Sasuke.
...So that was your twin brother then, eh Saseme?
He pondered.
...I had no idea the Uchiha Clan was so strong...
