Ruby Rose is reading from a magazine kiosk in the local dust shop of From Dust Till Dawn…A silly pun for a shop's name. Listening to a popular song through her headphones, she reads the contents rather quickly, only stopping on the weapon ads especially of those from FKO, Croon and Vindico
'Shame about SLM….They made some pretty good classics and they even inspired Yang to make Ember Celica. Heck, she made the prototype from bits and pieces from a Betty Boom, a Caw Hammer and a Depezador, all three were copies since any SLM Original is very rare and expensive nowadays.' Ruby thought to herself as she scans some ads from FKO, Croon and Vindico that contain their own copies of SLM's weapons. She still remembers Qrow bringing back a rather damaged and old SLM Original Betty Boom from one of his missions and she got to fire it! It did hurt from the recoil due to her accidentally firing both barrels at once and she was little….
"Maybe I should've drank more milk on that day….I think?" Ruby muttered to herself as the doors to the shop opened with an orange-haired man with an entourage of men behind him…Which she didn't hear due to her headphones playing music
"Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a Dust shop open this late?" The man flicks the cigar as him and his henchmen look over the displays of dust. Carefully placed canisters and cartilages of unrefined and refined dust and dust crystals. With a simple nod, one of his henchmen aims a weapon at the shopkeep, making sure he cannot grab a weapon of his own in secret as the man walks up to the shopkeep.
"P-Please, just take my lien and leave!" The elderly man pleads as the man turns his head from left to right as he's shushing the scared shopkeep.
"Shhh, shhh, shhh, shhh, calm down, we're not here for your money." The man said to the shopkeeper and as expected, it didn't calm him down as the man turned to his group of henchmen. "Grab the dust" The man orders his henchmen and they get to work on stealing the dust with one opening a case and pilfering its contents, allowing the group and the man to take the dust from the tubes on the walls.
"Hey, oldman" One of the henchmen comes to the counter as the elderly shopkeeper is still being scared as the henchman opens a display on the countertop. "Crystals. Burn. Uncut." More or less with a threatening tone as the shopkeeper fills the case with the requested items.
As one of the other henchmen is about to grab a case, he hears muted music coming from a girl whose nose is deep in a weapon magazine. After thinking for a few seconds, he unsheathes his blade and walks over to the girl, clearly going to mug her and he points the sword at her back
"Alright kid, put your hands where I can see 'em!" The man tells the girl…Who didn't give a response to his demand. Angered, he tries again. "Hey, I said hands in the air! You got a death wish or something!?" He goes over to her and turns the girl around, causing her hood to drop down and revealing a surprised look on her face. The mugging henchmen motions to Ruby to take her headphones down.
After seeing the Henchman motioning her to remove her headphones, Ruby does so. "Yes?" Ruby was both surprised and confused as the man had an angry look on his face. "Is there something you need or I can help you with-"
"I said, put your hands in the air, now!" The man was getting angry with this….Brat. She should be in fear, afraid of losing her life in this moment like any sane person but no, she's just confused….Fucking brat
"Are you... robbing me?" Ruby was…..Definitely confused at least a little and is thinking of her options….Most of which are of course fighting back against this villain in front of her. One of the most popular options on her list is a powerful kick, but she has to be careful while doing so…
"Yes!" This girl he thought to himself…..This goddamn brat right here….Is she so stupidly, what's the word? Yes, a dumbfuck of the highest order
"Ooohhh…" Yeahhhh…..Powerful kick it is then for this villain right here
Roman is waiting for his men to finish the heist with one of them still threatening the shopkeeper when a "Hey!" and "Hyah!" are heard, and the henchman that was attempting to mug a girl flies past him. Roman calmly motions for another to handle the brat, with the shopkeeper secretly getting a Betty Boom shotgun as the henchman that turned his attention to the flying henchman.
"Freeze" One of the henchmen aims his gun at Ruby. Who simply turns to the henchman and readies for her world famous kick of asskicking …..Blame Yang for that name….
Cut to outside the shop, when the henchman and Ruby crash through the window. The other men look outside as Ruby gets up and unfolds her weapon of choice: Crescent Rose into its scythe form. The orange haired man looks surprised and scowls at the girl, but Ruby smiles back at them before twirling the weapon around, striking it into the ground and turning off her headphones.
Still scowling, the orange haired man looks toward his remaining henchmen. "Okayyy...Get her-" He was cut off as a gunshot was heard and everyone looked at the origin of the sound; The Shopkeeper.
The elderly man was holding a Betty Boom shotgun, with the henchman that was supposed to be threatening him, launched a few feet from the countertop…Obviously in pain from the shot of course. The shopkeep looks at the remaining goons and the orange haired man with a furious expression as he gazes over them. "Get out of my shop…Now!" Reloads the Betty Boom on emphasis. Seeing his options on his hand, he chooses to leave the shop, as the same time sends his remaining thugs towards Ruby.
The Orange haired man and his henchmen head out of the dust shop and the remaining henchmen run at Ruby, who spins around on top of Crescent Rose and kicks the first approaching thug in the face, sending him into a wall rather comically. She gets Crescent Rose out of the ground and fires it off to hit another one with the butt of her weapon, sending him flying into an alleyway…
With a rather not so quiet crack of something breaking from the launched henchman. Ruby fires again and brings the side down on one of the attacking henchmen and dodges gunfire from another with her weapon's speed. Getting close enough to him, she knocks him into the air and follows him upwards so she can beat him to the ground and after that, the henchman slides away to the orange-haired man's feet.
"You were worth every cent. Truly, you were." The orange haired man said to Ruby as he drops his cigar on the ground and crushes it with his cane as, him and Ruby hear approaching sirens of the local police. "Well, Red..I think we can all say it's been an eventful evening and as much as I'd love to stick around…" Raises his cane and opens the bottom to reveal a rifle with a cross grid as he aims it towards Ruby. "...I'm afraid this is where we part ways."
Roman unleashes a red blast from his rifle-cane at Ruby, who fires at the ground and leaps over the shot. When she lands back to the and looks up, the man isn't there and he is climbing up a ladder on a nearby building. Ruby looks to the onlooking shopkeeper as he finishes tying up the henchman he shot a short while ago. "You okay if I go after him?" Ruby asks the elderly shopkeep who nods as he says 'uh huh'. After giving a nod of her own to the shopkeeper, she sets off after the criminal.
The criminal in question makes it to the roof with Ruby high-flying again and landing right behind him who yells a 'hey!' at him. Stopping at the edge, he turns around to Ruby. "Persistent….Aren't ya?" Ruby readies to fight this villainous criminal, but a modified getaway Interceptor lowers down and opens a side hatch to allow the man to climb inside. As soon as he does that, pulls out a red gem of sorts from one of his pockets. "End of the line, little red."
He throws it out at her feet and fires his rifle-cane at the gem at her feet, resulting in a large explosion on the roof of the building, for which he starts laughing.
"Whoa-ho-ho-ho!" He stops laughing when he sees something on the roof when the smoke clears away. "Huh, what the?" He sees a woman in a purple cape in front of little red, casting a circle of protection over them with her wand.
As Ruby looks on, the purple caped woman waves her weapon and summons several streaks of purple at the interceptor, causing the orange haired criminal to be thrown around inside the craft until he goes to the cockpit, where a woman in red, her face unseen and a masked hired thug are struggling with the craft''s controls.
"We got a Huntress!" The woman in red gets up and heads toward the back of the interceptor as the orange haired man takes the controls and aids the hired pilot thug to steady the craft.
The purple caped woman glows purple for only a mere moment and aims another blast above the craft, resulting in a dark storm-cloud over the interceptor, resulting in the hired pilot thug to mutter 'Oh fuck..This isnn't good'
"The hell...?" The orange haired man mutters to himself as the purple caped woman does a flick of her wand, resulting in large jagged hail-like debris to pummel the interceptor and even one of which breaks through the armored canopy, narrowly missing the orange haired man's head and another almost hits the pilot thug.
The woman in red reaches the back of the craft and through the open hatch, light shines from her arms and chest like fire…Aiming a burst of energy at the attacking purple caped woman. The witch blocks the attack…But the flame splatters behind her and glows hot with the woman in red's raised hand.
The purple caped witch back-flips out of the explosion for which destroys part of the building's roof, and magically gathers the roof's debris to create a large arrow-like projectile, and she throws it at the hovering craft. The fiery woman in red shatters the arrow with several fire blasts like a bender of sorts but it reforms just in time for it to hit the side of the interceptor due to the orange haired man's and the pilot thug's quick aerial lean timing, making the pilot thug mutters a rather very rough insult to the witch…Which she gives a scowl
More of the roof's debris separates and reshapes into more arrows that encircle the craft but the woman in red summons several glowing rings around herself that expands and destroys the arrows that surrounded the interceptor.
Ruby, finally acting, reverts Crescent Rose into its rifle form to fire at the woman in red who blocks each bullet and creates several blazing circles around her two opponents. The purple caped witch telekinetically pushes Ruby and rolls herself out of the explosion's radius. Looking up in time to see a thug aiming a weapon outside of the craft through the open hatch and takes some pot shots at both Ruby and the purple cape witch….
Both of them dodges the rather piss poor shots from the thug's rifle and Ruby fires Crescent Rose at the thug…Knocking the weapon out of the thug's hand and when she goes to aim again, this time at the craft….Only for the interceptor to raise up and the hatch closing and it flies away from Ruby and the purple caped witch
Ruby looks at the witch and she has stars in her eyes. "Y-You're a Huntress!?" She puts on a pleading, awe-stricken face as she looks at the Huntress in question. "Can I have your autograph?!" The purple caped witch just gives a sigh and pinches the bridge of her nose as she takes an excited and amazed Ruby to the police station…

Ruby's face is no longer of amazement due to being starstruck, for now it's that of shame as Glynda, the purple caped witch who introduced herself at the station. With a scroll in her hands, Glynda paces around the table Ruby is seated at, underneath a bright light in the otherwise dark room at the police station.
"I hope that you realize that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly, young lady. Glynda says to a shamed Ruby at the interrogation table, who simply looks down at the floor. "You put yourself and others in great danger." As soon as she said that, Ruby looked up at Glynda with a flabbergasted expression.
"T-They started it!" Ruby's response causes Glynda's expression to be more strict
"If it were up to me, you'd be sent home... With a pat on the back…"Glynda notices the smile forming on Ruby's face, for which it will not last very long. "...And a slap on the wrist!" Glynda demonstrates with her riding crop by smacking the table, which Ruby barely avoids as she gives out a 'Eeek!' "But... There is someone here who would like to meet you." Which made Ruby confused on what Glynda means…
Glynda moves out of the way, which Ruby becomes surprised when she sees a man in green clothing come through the doorway, holding a mug and a plate of cookies and behind him is another man in…What appears to be monk-like robes and Ruby can….Barely see a triangle-like symbol around his neck, which is almost completely tucked into his robes.
"Ruby Rose…" The man in green says to Ruby as he stands across from her, with Glynda and the monk-like man still standing. "You... have silver eyes" What the man in green said to Ruby made her confused…Since she doesn't know why her eyes are rather important enough to warrant that tone…
"Uh, um…" Is all what Ruby can say right now, since there are three adults here, here because of her: Glynda with a serious expression, the man in green with a rather friendly expression and the monk-like man who is giving her a serious look….Yet it radiates of grandfather style friendliness.
"So Ms Rose….Where did you learn to do this?" The monk-like man gestures his hand at Glynda's scroll, which shows Ruby's fighting capabilities. Slightly embarrassed and still nervous, Ruby thinks of an answer to that question of his.
"Uhh, S-Signal Academy" Ruby squeaks out that answer, as she very briefly looks at the plate of cookies in the man in green's hands…Which wasn't brief to the man in green, the monk-like man and Glynda
"They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?"This time, the man in green asks Ruby, who nods and replies with 'W-Well, one teacher in particular.'
"I see…." The man in green puts the plate of cookies on the table in front of Ruby….Which she tentatively picks a cookie up and eats it in a single bite. Not seeing any rebuttal from the adults, Ruby shovels the rest into her mouth, while the monk-like man behind the man in green secretly gives a slight smile and rolls his eyes."It's just that I've only seen one other scythe-wielder of that skill before. A dusty, old crow…" For that, the monk-like man gives a slight snort at that description
Mumbles through her full mouth, Ruby perks up at that. "Oh! That's my uncle! she then swallows and wipes her mouth, giving an embarrassed smile. "Er Sorry, that's my Uncle Qrow! He's a teacher at Signal. I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing. And now, I'm all like….Hooowaaah, witchaaaa! Ruby then proceeds to make some karate-style poses and noises.
"So I've noticed" The man in greens places his cup of coffee on the table as he leans in, then sits down on the opposite side of the table, across from Ruby. "And what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school designed to train warriors?"
Still nervous, Ruby gives a reply. "Well... I want to be a Huntress.." Man, she is nervous and the cookies didn't do sh- nothing on calming her down. Perking up at this, the monk-like man looks at Ruby more closely
"You want to slay monsters, Ms Rose?" Interesting…..While being a Huntsman is rather a common thing for young people these days to inspire to become, for a different variety of reasons from noble such defending people to the less stellar like wanting to be a celebrity through the rather….Life costly career choice.
"Y-Yeah! I only have two more years of training left at Signal! And then I'm going to apply to Beacon!" Ruby begins to talk faster and faster with her enthusiasm growing at the same time.
"You see, my sister's starting there this year, and she's trying to become a Huntress, and I'm trying to become a Huntress 'cause I wanna help people. My family have always taught us to help others and so I thought, 'Hey, I might as well make a career out of it!'" Ruby giggles and continues on. "I mean the police are alright, but Huntsmen and Huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting and cool and really, gosh, you know!" She flips out at the last part, staring at the three with a wide, crazy smile. Which made the monk-like man chuckle a bit from Ruby's rather fast explanation.
Glynda, the man in green and the monk-like man study the enthusiastic silver-eyed girl. The man in green across from Ruby simply clears his throat.
"Do you know who I am?" The man in green, which Ruby simply nods and smiles with her nervousness being gone, with it being replaced with enthusiasm and calm…Well, calm is pushing it.
"Ruby: You're Professor Ozpin, you're the headmaster at Beacon. She replies to the man in green, now identified as Ozpin, who smiles and nods in confirmation as he gives a simple 'Hello'. "Well nice to meet you, Professor Ozpin"
Ozpin simply smiles. "You want to come to my school, Ruby Rose?" That question caused the monk-like man to very briefly show a surprised face before it returned to his serious face. The question however, causes a surprised Ruby to do a double take at what Ozpin just asked.
"More than anything!" Ruby replies with sheer, unadulterated enthusiasm and excitement. She sees Ozpin exchanging glances with Glynda and the Monk-like man, the former shows her disapproval with a 'Hmmph' and the latter to think for a few seconds before slightly shrugging. After getting his answers, Ozpin turns back to Ruby. "Well, okay"
Ruby smiles, wide-eyed and open-mouthed at Ozpin accepting her. She is so happy, her mind is figuratively jumping with sheer joy and happiness inside the weaponnut skull of hers. With a quick 'thank you'….And a quick call to someone, Ruby was allowed to leave the dark room, which she did leave.
Sighing, Glynda looks at Ozpin and the Monk-like man after pretty much interrogating Ruby Rose. "I hope you know what you are doing, Ozpin." Ozpin merely stands up and smiles at Glynda. "I know what I'm doing Glynda…Having Ruby Rose attend Beacon is a good choice in the long run." Glynda merely doesn't say anything, but still has a look of disapproval.
"While that may be so Ozpin, Ms Rose would need to work rather more harder than the other students at your academy" Ozpin glances at the monk-like man. "While I personally don't agree with you having Ruby Rose attend Beacon 2 years early….But times have changed for a long time and we do need her currently-locked abilities….Let's hope it actually bores some mighty fruit during her time at Beacon"
"Don't worry Rolam, I always think before making a move." Ozpin simply says as he and Glynda both leave the room.
"That's what I'm afraid of…." Rolam mutters before following Ozpin and Glynda out of the station….

A blonde girl tackles Ruby in a hug aboard the large Vale Airship to Beacon, crushing the air out of her with her squealing in happiness, with Ruby struggling to breathe thanks to the blonde girl's rather strong strength.
"Oh, I can't believe my baby sister is going to Beacon with me, this is the best day ever!" The blonde girl squeals with excitement as she continues to hug Ruby….Who is gasping.
Gasping thanks to the blonde girl unintentionally choking her. "Please stop Yang" The blonde girl, now identified as Yang, sheepishly lets go of Ruby but is still excited and happy.
Releasing her sister. "But I'm so proud of you Ruby!" Yang looks at Ruby, who rubs her neck with some embarrassment.
"Really Sis, it was nothing." Ruby sheepishly says to Yang, who gives a rather flabbergasted look at her younger sister…Who simply rubs the back of her neck.
"What do you mean it was nothing? It was incredible Ruby, everyone at Beacon is going to think you're the bee's knees!" The fact that ruby has rather down played her abilities is….Something Yang didn't expect…At all
"B-But I don't want to be the 'bee's knees', okay?! Ruby exclaims rather a bit loudly, causing some other people on board to briefly look at the two sisters before resuming whatever they were doing. "I don't want to be any kind of knees, Yang. I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees!"
Yang simply shakes her head at Ruby's response. "What's with you Ruby, aren't you excited?" Yang waits for Ruby to respond, who blurts out a response of her own to her sister.
"O-Of course I'm excited Yang... I just…" She sighs, making Yang raise a brow. "I got moved up ahead two years….I-I don't want people to think I'm special or anything…." Ruby rubs the back of her neck again, this time with both sheepishly and nervously .
Yang goes over to Ruby and gives her sister a one-armed hug. "But you are special Ruby. You always have been since you were little." Yang gives a comforting smile to Ruby, who gives a smile of her own to her older sister.
The both girls' attention was drawn to the newscast on Vale News Network playing nearby on one of the ship's screens, talking about the robbery and showing the orange haired man's mugshot.
"The robbery from last night was led by nefarious criminal, Roman Torchwick" Ruby watches the program, now knowing the orange hair man's name. "Who continues to evade the local authorities. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Vale Police Department. Back to you, Lisa."
The mugshot changes to Lisa Lavender, with a photo of animal-eared demonstrators holding signs saying 'WE ARE NOT ANIMALS!' followed by an image of the logo of a growling red wolf's head with three scratch marks.
"Thank you Cyril. In other news, this Saturday's Faunus Civil Rights protest turned dark when members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony. The once peaceful organization has now disrupted-" The news feed is cut off as a hologram of Glynda replaces it.
"Hello, and welcome to Beacon!" The hologram of the witch says, with the ship's passengers turning their heads towards her, especially Yang and Ruby
"Who's that Ruby-?" Yang was cut off as the hologram continues to speak
"My name is Glynda Goodwitch, I'm one of the Beacon's professors"
"Oh…." Yang's question was answered right then and there
"You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy. Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it….You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world." After saying her piece, the hologram disappears.
Among several other cries of surprise, Ruby looks through the ship's glass walls. "Oh, wow! Look, you can see Signal from up here!" Ruby, Yang and other students on board the ship look at the town below, with Ruby having a face of amazement "I guess home isn't too far after all!"
"Beacon's our home now, Ruby." Yang smiles at Ruby, who in return smiles back as the ship gets closer to its definition of Beacon….But the two start hearing a fellow passenger groaning and hunched over nearby….Who proceeds to run to the back of the ship...
"Well... I guess the view isn't for everyone…" Yang rolls her eyes, with Ruby nodding
"Yeah…But it was a nice moment while it lasted." Everyone can see Beacon is in sight as the ship crosses a large body of water. "I can see it Yang!"
Rubs Ruby's head as the ship is slowing down and it starts to descend. "I wonder who we're gonna meet at Beacon Ruby!" Yang looks over to Ruby, who pretty much as stars in her eyes, like she's going to pop from excitement.
"I-I just hope they're better than Vomit Boy in the back-" Ruby looks down at Yang's shoes and widens her eyes in disgust as she sees some splatter of bile. "Yang, have puke on your shoe! Points to said shoe, which Yang looks down and starts to freak out at this horribleness...
"Oh my God- Gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross!" Yang begins to hop on one leg…Which she ends up hopping up to Ruby who freaks out as well…As she doesn't want to get touched by Yang's vomit shoe of course.
"G-Get away Yang! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me! Ruby yells at Yang as she ends up hoppoing a bit too close to Ruby and the two continue to freak out…
The scene fades to black as the song, 'This Will Be the Day' starts playing.

Request obtained: Access to Folder 2-9-94, codenamed; Valkra

At the somehow still working computer terminal in an abandoned facility, a person with a set of monk-like clothing stares at the file's contents….Fascationed by the file contents. WIth a rusted and blooded armored hand, they send the folder and its contents to their datapad and look over them…"Yes…..This should do nicely….Thank you late Mr Sprog for the key…."
As the figure walks away, their datapad flashes as a sentence is highlighted…No doubt very important to the person and what faction they belonged to….
'After the failure of Project Valkra, we SLM, have shut it down and sent the plans and materials to the Atlesian Military and one of Atlas' most brightest for better use and after careful evaluation from the employees of the just deactivated project, they came to a new name for it: P.E.N.N.Y'
