'I'm having a baby.' These were the words Rose Quartz shouted to her teammates within the temple. The 3 gems looked in silence and shock from Rose's announcement until one of them spoke up. 'Way to go Rose. But, what's a baby?' asked the youngest member of the Crystal Gems, Amethyst. 'Uhmm… It's a sort of small human from what I know Amethyst.' Rose responded. Amethyst's eyes lit up at her answer 'WOW! I won't be the youngest member of the team anymore, YEAH!' Amethyst screamed.
'Now, Amethyst don't bombard Rose with your questions.' Garnet said calmly. 'Congratulations Rose, but to be honest, I never saw this coming.' Garnet informed Rose. 'Well, I suppose you wouldn't with the fact that me and Greg didn't find out till yesterday' Rose said. While the two members discussed with Rose more about the fact that in 9 months time one gem wasn't so excited about the news, and that gem was Pearl.
'Greg…' 'Not Greg.' Pearl was boiling with anger at how a human, a common ordinary human, could get one of the most powerful gems 'pregnant' of all things. Pearl continued to ponder until Rose came up to her. 'Pearl, are you okay?' Rose said with a worried tone in her voice. 'Uhm… Rose may I talk with you,' Pearl looked over to Amethyst and Garnet '...Privately' Pearl continued. 'Oh, Sure' Rose responded. Pearl took Rose to behind the fallen hand of the temple on the beach floor. 'Pearl, what did you want to talk about?' Rose asked Pearl. Pearl took a while to answer before turning around to face her Quartz with visible tears in her eyes.
'Pearl, why're you crying?' Rose asked, concerned. 'Why,' Pearl blurted out. 'Why him and not ME!' Pearl continued, 'Do you not have any idea about how I feel?' Rose stood there absorbing her words. 'Pearl, why didn't you tell me back there how you felt?' Rose asked her. 'Because, After we faked your shattering, it seemed to be one of the first times you felt happy and I didn't want to ruin that.' Pearl said in between her sobs. Rose pulled Pearl into an embrace. 'Don't say another word.' 'I don't want you to be sad about this Pearl, I just want you to be with me while I get through this.' Rose informed her. Pearl remained shocked before bursting into tears. Rose shushed her before saying 'I promise you when this is over i will always be by your side Pearl, no matter what.' The words made Pearl feel comfortable to give a quiet simple 'Okay.'
