Chapter 10

Ralph returned to Jose's house, and Enez had dinner ready for everyone. She jokingly said, "You can't break into an evil organization's offices without something on your stomach." Everyone sat down at the large table in the dining room. Jose prayed, thanking the powers that be for the food they had on the table and for family and friends there with them. Everyone ate heartily.

After dinner, Jose, Isla, and Ralph flew off together and headed toward the Pure Water Organization offices. It was dark when they arrived. They turned invisible and landed in front of a side door. Isla flew around the building and took out all the security cameras. Ralph telekinetically opened the locked door without having to take the door off its hinges as Jose and Isla had planned.

Ralph told them, "I've done this a few times in my past life. Bill and I would have to break into offices to get evidence against criminals. It's all in the wrist," he said jokingly with a smile.

They invisibly walked inside the building, looking for cameras. Once all the cameras were disabled, they reviewed files, looking for evidence of well sabotage. Ralph came to a large picture on a wall in a large office and felt tingly. He touched the picture and got a hologram of a safe on the other side.

He said, "Ahh, what have we here?" This statement attracted Jose and Isla's attention, and they came across the room to see what Ralph had found.

Ralph used his telekinesis and split the picture apart. The two halves were on slides and silently slid apart, revealing the safe. Again, Ralph used his telekinetic power and enhanced hearing to open the safe by delicately manipulating its tumblers until it opened. Jose and Isla were impressed. They would have just pulled the door off the safe.

Ralph said, "As I said, I've done this quite a few times."

In the safe was what they were looking for, the secret files explaining the experiments to be conducted with a new virus that, when placed in a water source, would quickly infect the population with a 95% kill rate within a few days. San Miguel would be the human test site. If all went as anticipated, the virus would be replicated in large quantities and distributed worldwide to contaminate the water supplies in large, populated cities.

The chief scientist on the project was named Beth Gomez; she was a large green guy. While in a trance, Ralph had seen her as the one to contaminate the well at San Miguel, and she shimmered to green as she dropped the vial into the well. But they couldn't find the date for the drop. Isla went through the computer on the desk and found several dates marked on the calendar. But they were in code.

Ralph touched the computer screen and tried to get a hologram of what Beth was doing. At last, he got a tingle of a hologram and saw her talking to someone off-screen about the dates for the drop. She typed a date into the calendar. It was today! They would be there early in the morning to do the drop.

Ralph yelled, "It is today! They are probably driving there right now. I can't tell you the exact time. I'm heading there now. Call Eric and tell him what you have found. He'll get a team here to turn this place inside out, then meet me at San Miguel."
