MAKING UP THE LOST TIME.

It was another simple salt and burn hunt, that Sam and Dean arrived at the bunker. Their bodies a little sore but mostly from sitting in a car for a long time. It was when they arrived back at the bunker that Sam noticed his brother was extremely quiet. "You okay, Dean?"

"It's nothing, really," Dean said with a tired frown. But the pushy look his brother gave made Dean cave. "I... well, since mom came back, I realized I had only three Years or Mother's day for her.

Sam chuckled and leaned back in his seat. "You're lucky you remembered that you had any. I don't have any memories of it."

"Then we'll do something for her... Mother's day is next week, right?" Dean asked pulling out his cellphone and typing in the web to see when Mother's day was going to be.

"Maybe." Sam said with a shrug. "Even if it was, what do have in mind?"

"How the hell should I know, Sam? I don't remember how to celebrate it. It's been too long and it's not like I had years of practice. I do know we buy her presents, kind of like Christmas but that's about it."

"Well," Sam said rubbing the back of his head. "I remember doing a mother's day event with Jess back in college. She and I arrived the night before and in the morning we made her breakfast and we had got her a present that we gave that morning with breakfast in bed."

"Wow, you trying to impress the in-laws?" Dean asked in a teasing matter, though he could see the slight hurt in his brother's eyes.

"It was the only mother's day holiday and I wanted to experience it." Sam shrugged and Dean nodded.

"Well, you know what? Let's do it this year." Dean said slowly standing up from the bunker's table. "I mean, what have we got to lose, right?" He asked and smiled when Sam nodded.

For the next week, the boys let their contacts know they weren't going to be doing any hunts and started planning their mother's day surprise. The little bit of memories Dean had slowly came back when he realized of a funny moment when he tried to make pancakes and he had dropped an egg shell in the mix and his mother bit into it. They chuckled until the thought entered them, what to get their mother.

They shared looks of minor fear as they had gone to the mall and looked completely lost in what to give their mother. Yes they had sales but they seemed completely lost and not quite sure what their mother would like.

Sam gave Dean a shameful look when he pulled out his cellphone and stepped away leaving Dean to seek refuge in the food court and grabbed a large cup of pretzels and walked back to where his brother and him separated to see Sam sulking back to sit next to his older brother.

"What did you do?" Dean asked seeing that look, like Sam kicked a puppy and he was embarrassed of what he had done."

"I called someone to come and help. She... was willing to be here. She says she'd be here in about an hour."

For the next hour Dean tried to find out who Sam called, even tempted him with pretzels to try and bribe him into telling him who he called. Soon that was not needed as he saw a woman with long brown hair waving energetically and walking up towards them.

Becky was smiling when Sam stood up and gave her a hand shake when she wanted to give him a hug. But respected that they were past that. She spent the entire day helping her two favorite characters into finding the perfect Mother's Day gift and Dean was happy she didn't have any ulterior motives. She even wished their mother a happy Mother's Day before she left after they found the gift that they even had wrapped up at the store.

That Sunday Sam and Dean work themselves up early and quietly peeked on their mother before they headed to the kitchen to make breakfast. Knowing how to cook it wasn't hard to do. But what they didn't know was that Mary was awake the entire time and smiled to herself as listened to the soft talk her boys were doing trying their hardest not to wake her up. She laughed thinking they shouldn't have gone through all the trouble. She stopped and listened when she could hear them walking down the hallway telling each other to keep quiet. She laid back down and pretended she was asleep when they walked in.

"Good morning, mom." Dean said smiling.

"Happy Mother's Day." Sam added feeling like he was a kid.

"Oh boys." Mary said with fake yawn and slowly sat up in bed as Dean gently set the table tray of food on her legs. "What's this for?"

"Well, we... we just wanted to make up for lost opportunities." Dean said happy that Sam was hiding their present behind his back. "Dad, never let us celebrate Mother's Day growing up. We didn't even go visit your grave site at all. I mean none of us blame him." He shot Sam a look to hand over the present and Sam nervously did.

Mary smiled and quickly opened the gift box and smiled when she pulled out a small porcelain statuette with a mother holding onto two kids. She smiled and looked up at her boys. "This is beautiful, boys. Thank you so much."

"We had a little help finding this gift, to be honest." Sam said blushing a little. "So if you don't like it we can get a different one."

"Oh no boys I love it." Mary said with a smile. "I never really cared for the expensive gifts to celebrate me. My last one I got the best gift in having my two boys. But I have to say this is one of the best. I get to celebrate with both of my grown up boys. I hope that we can make some more Mother's Day memories."

The boys smiled and sat down to watch her eat her food, with Dean trying to snag a piece of bacon that was on his mom's plate while Sam tried to snag a few grapes from her fruit bowl. Mary laughed and while she ate she didn't see the two grown men in her room teasing and trying to steal her breakfast but she saw them for what they were, boys. Her baby boys and she knew this was the best Mother's Day she could ever wish for.
