"Good day class!" Mr. Harrington greeted as everyone entered class. His smile so big and permanently etched in his face. His excitement was palpable, which made everyone curious. Peter winced, knowing the reason for his happiness.
"Come quickly, sit down, I have an exciting announcement to make" He said and everyone hurried to their seats. Murmurs were loud as everyone was wondering what the announcement is. Mr. Harrington waited for everyone to settle down before clapping his hands together.
"It is my pleasure to announce the location of our senior field trip." He said, his excitement infectious as everyone also became more cheerful. Everyone had been looking forward to this field trip as it was going to be their last one, and most probably their most exciting one.
Beside Peter, Ned gasped in realization and turned to look at Peter eyes wide and mouth open, quickly realizing that Mr. Harrington being this excited only meant one thing. He couldn't believe Peter didn't tell him. Peter grimaced, he forgot to tell Ned that Mr. Harrington had agreed. In his defense, he was too busy with training.
Behind them Cindy raised her hand before Ned could interrogate Peter. "Mr. Harrington, I thought we still had till today to turn our suggestions, how come the location's already set?" Everyone nodded in agreement, especially those who were planning to turn in their suggestions last minute. There were so any places they wanted to go to but everyone was only allowed one.
"Ah, that's right Ms. Moon, Initially we would deliberate on the suggestions the students submitted, however, we were given an opportunity to tour …" He paused in suspense, making their excitement grow. "STARK INDUSTRIES!"
Pin-drop silence ensued as everyone processed the statement. It was broken when one shouted in excitement then everyone followed suit. Being in a school like Midtown high meant majority of the students studying here were smart. Science a favorite subject. To them, Stark Industries was their dream. Plus, Tony Stark was there. Their figurative and literal hero.
When an essay involved writing about their hero, almost 75% of them wrote Tony Stark (including Peter but please don't tell Mr. Stark), while others wrote Dr. Banner and etc. Because of this, the school actually had anticipated that a lot of students would suggest going to Stark Industries, however, getting a tour there would be next to impossible. Hence, they decided to inform the students beforehand not to suggest said location. Needless to say, no one is arguing over the slight change in rules.
"Alright, settle down, I know where all excited but before we can go to SI, there are a few things you need." As everybody quieted down, excitement still in their veins, Mr. Harrington pulled out a huge stack of papers. "Passed this to the back please."
As the papers were passed down, each one received at least 20 pages of paper stapled together. Students were shocked at the amount of paperwork given to them. Peter only skimmed his papers, double checking the contents.
"Now, the first page is the consent form, make sure this is signed by your parents before the day of the fieldtrip, which is next week Saturday. No consent form, no field trip for you understood?" Mr. Harrington paused as words of confirmation were made. "The next few pages are a little different, and a requirement by Stark Industries. These are Non-Disclosure Agreements, read it carefully and sign it. Pass these by Monday, SI will need time to process that. Remember, you are not allowed to share anything confidential you may see from the Tower, tech or otherwise. If you break it, Don't. Any questions" A few students shot their hands up so fast eager to know more. Mr. Harrington swept through the class before pointing at Betty Brant's outstretched hand.
"Yes Betty?" Betty stood up and smiled.
"Are pictures allowed sir?"
"Only on some floors, you can read that on the NDA" She thanked him before sitting back down and reading the NDA further. Mr. Harrington then proceeded to answer questions from the other students before a question by Flash Thompson made Peters hair stand up. He was not going to like this.
"Won't Peter's 'internship' cause problems to the tour sir?"
Everybody's heads turned towards Peter at that question while Peter froze, wanting to slowly slide down until the ground ate him up. He knew Flash was going to say something.
"Well on the contrary Mr. Thompson, Mr. Parker helped us get a tour to Stark Industries. Let's all thank Peter everybody" he said as he clapped and his classmates soon followed suit. Murmurs of praise were suddenly going his way and whispers of "so his internship was real" and a not so silent "I told you guys" by Ned could be heard.
Meanwhile, Peter's face was almost red as a tomato of embarrassment. While it was a good thing people believe him now, this sudden influx of praise was something he was used to. On the other hand, Flash's face was similarly red, but for a different reason.
"What?" he whispered in anger and confusion to himself before glaring at Peter. Said boy felt his stare and became even more nervous.
Suffice to say, as soon as class ended, Peter Parker bolted out the door, running for his life.

Peter may have escaped last week, but that was only postponing the inevitable. As soon as Monday rolled around he was bombarded by people at lunch time. Peter's head was aching at the number of people surrounding him and Ned at the table, all asking questions about the internship. If they didn't believe him before, they certainly believed him now.
Ned (who finally got the whole picture after visiting him Saturday) was trying (unsuccessfully) to ward off people, but they were too persistent. Honestly, he was not trying too hard at first, but realized that people were being much too loud for Peter. Suddenly, a loud bang could be heard as a lunch tray was placed down on the table.
"Go away losers, you're all too noisy" MJ threateningly glared at all of them, and they all slowly retreated. Thank goodness for MJ, Peter thought as he was finally able to breathe out in relief.
"Thanks MJ" She ignored him momentarily as she sat down in front of them and pulled out her sketch book.
"No, Thank you Mr. celebrity., you were a great subject" She said as she smugly showed him sketches of his face in varying states of a mortified expression. Peter groaned and banged his head at the table.
"This is so crazy." Ned nodded in agreement.
"Yeah it is, dude you're totally popular now." Peter didn't know what to feel about that.
"If you don't like it so much, why'd you even suggest the field trip." Asked MJ, still unaware of the reason. Head still in the table, Peter recounted his punishment to her. MJ chortled in amusement.
"That's one way of punishing someone"
"Ughhh, I'm seriously not gonna break lab rules again."
"Which means it was effective." MJ pointed out. "besides it can't be that bad."
"Yeah Peter, everybody believes you now, look even Flash is quieter than usual." Ned said as they looked at Flash from across the cafeteria.
"Also, it'll all die down after the tour you know"
Peter raised his head and thought about it. "I guess"
"You know what? Yeah! I can do this tour guide thing! I mean I already know you guys. It'll be like reporting a research paper in front of the class." Peter exclaimed optimistically.

Maybe he was too optimistic, Peter thought as the school bus containing his classmates rolled to a stop near the entrance. He's forehead started dripping with sweat in nervousness, his hand were wet, staining the flashcards Mr. Stark had given him to "help" with his job. Apparently, he has to say what the cards contained as part of his punishment, which meant it did not bode well for him.
Thor help him, he cried internally.
