Leslie

"Detective Baker, we got the results waiting in the Lab for you."

I got up.

I walked down to the Lab.

"Sign the sheet, please."

I signed "Leslie Baker" in cursive.

I hung it back up on the wall.

"So, what do we got?"

"Unless, Detective Kevin Tierney is Type A, he's not the match."

"He's not Type A."

"Is Elena Williams Type A?"

"No. Elena Williams is AB."

"Then who else could it be?"

"Mrs. Tierney seemed in quite a hurry to get to bed."

"I don't think she'd protect him."

"Do you ever know how victims would protect their abusers?"

"Run it. Again."

"Against Erin Tierney's blood?"

"Yeah."

"And what if it is her blood?"

"We find out what really happened last night."

"Okay."

"Or we keep pushing Elena and Erin until they crack."

"I don't see Erin cracking under pressure."

"Probably not. But Elena could."

"Maybe."

"No way Erin doesn't talk to nobody about what goes on in that."

"We just got to find out who she talks to."

"Canvass with the neighbors. See if any of them know her. Any of them know what happened last night."

"On it, Detective."

"You really are pushing this, aren't you, Detective?"

"Detective Tierney is guilty. He's not above the law."

"I know."

"We need to find out what really happened."

"Erin Tierney isn't talking. She doesn't wanna talk to anybody."

"Maybe not."

"It's just about being calm. Being patient. Waiting for the victim to come to you."

"It might be too late next time."

"Maybe. But it's Erin's decision to stay with him."

"She's not in her right mind."

"Maybe not."

The computer beeped.

"Erin Tierney is... Type A."

"So, it's a match?"

"Yeah."

"Thanks."
