"Thank You again for helping me tonight Lloyd. Usually after one of these family nights the other parents usually have a lot to get off their chests, it would help them a bit if you're here to explain the others' perspectives a bit more to calm them down a bit." I gave my mom a smile as I put some cups down for the tea. "No problem mom. After all, we all agreed to do our best to help everyone else reconnect. " We continued to set everything up in silence until the door slammed open, a distressed Lily walking through the door before continuing to pace back and forth in the living room, nibbling at her nails. I glanced at mom who just motioned for me to wait. I started filling cups with tea not long after as Liber walked into the room with a smile on her face, before it quickly dropped noticing Lily's pacing. Mom cleared her throat. "Alright Lily, spill. What's going on?" Cole's mom paused, looking up at us slowly before taking a shaky breath. I grabbed a cup of tea, offering it to her in an attempt to calm her down a bit. She gave me a small smile as she took it. "It's just; I asked Cole what his father was like after I- ya know." She looked away, almost ashamed. Liber seemed to understand though as she made her way over to Lily. "Awe, Lily, you know it wasn't your fault. That sickness you got was rough on all of you. It doesn't surprise me that they both took it pretty hard." She rubbed her back. "Exactly, death is something we couldn't control, reactions to said death are even harder to control sometimes. Lue just happened to have a really bad way of showing he cared but he's getting better now and I don't think Cole holds it against him too much now." My mom stated. I hummed with a nod. "That's true. At first Cole didn't like Lue but eventually he came around an understanding. They both did. So all is well now and that is all that matters to them, so that's all that should matter to you." I said, taking a sip of my tea. Lily smiled, following suit before responding. "Thank you, that helps a lot." We all continued to chat idly as we waited for the others to return. My father was next to join us, followed by Wu who looked more content. "How did it go?" Lily was the first to ask Uncle Wu the question we were all wondering. He smiled in response. "I would say we made a pretty big breakthrough tonight." My father gave us a small smile. "That's good to hear brother." Before uncle Wu had a chance to respond, the door slammed open, startling all of us. Maya stormed into the room with Ray cautiously behind her with one of his bag's. "Heeeey, Maaayyyaaa" Libers voice went high pitched as she examined the woman in front of us. Maya took a few deep breaths before slumping down in a chair with her head down on the coffee table in front of us. After a few quiet moments she poked her head up out of her arms, revealing the tears rolling down her face. Ray paused, eyes widening slightly before he moved to her side quickly. Lily quickly took action, grabbing a cup of tea for Maya. "Hey, hey, what's wrong Maya. You know you can talk to us." Liber's voice was soft as she tilted Maya's head up a bit to look her in the eye. I glanced at Mom, not knowing what to do about this situation. She just motioned for me to remain silent. "I know we expected this but-" Maya hiccuped, taking a shuddery breath. "It hurts so much worse when hearing it be confirmed; Even more so that he tried to tiptoe around the fact!" I glanced at my mom, trying to figure out what Maya was talking about but she seemed just as confused as I was. Ray took a deep breath, rubbing Mayas back in an attempt to comfort her. "I know, I know. I didn't get to hear most of that conversation because I was with Nya but I'm sure it isn't as bad as you think." Maya sat up to look him in the eye. "Ray, he practically confirmed all of our suspicions in one sentence! He was mumbling it but I know what I heard and I don't like it!" Ray quickly held his hands up in surrender. "Ok, I get it but what else did you expect? We knew the decision we made was a risk a long time ago." His voice remained soft though. What they were talking about suddenly finally clicked in my head, I frowned as I watched the two try to reason with themselves that their decision was the best one. Taking a deep breath, I spoke up. "You know, I don't believe you did anything wrong; and I know for certain Kai and Nya don't blame you both for anything that happened." I took a step closer to them, before sitting beside them. "And I'll be entirely honest with you, they did have a hard time. Not that Kai will ever fully admit it allowed, everyone in the team noticed things just by how they act alone, but that doesn't mean he blames you both for the life they had." I took a deep breath, noticing they were fully paying attention to me along with everyone else. I debated on continuing before deciding they deserved to know. "I think Kai blames himself more than he blames you. While I don't agree with his way of thinking most of the time when he talks to me about some of his past decisions, I can't help but see his reasoning because most of it does make sense. I'm sure he's made it clear to you both but I'll reiterate what he's said to me hundreds of times. Just having a family is all he's ever asked for, and while you both weren't there. He has Nya, and us. That was the closest family he could have asked for. You both being here now is a dream come true for both of them; so don't worry about the past. What's done is done, just focus on the now after all, time is irrelevant only the memories matter and I would say those two have had a few things to remember that they appreciate more than you think." When I finished, I opened my eyes, glancing over at the couple next to me. Maya gave me a smile, wiping her face. "Thank you dear, that helps a bit." I smiled, "No problem, it's what I'm here for."
