A/N: I wrote this fic for KagamiPINKAgreste because 1. Adrigami is her favorite pairing, 2. Today is Mother's Day and she loathes her mother, so I wanted to cheer her up because her feelings mean A LOT to me, and 3. I wanted to thank her for re-igniting my passion for Miraculous. PINK, I hope I did your favorite pairing justice!
It was a sunny day in Paris, but Kagami Tsurugi's disposition was anything but sunny as she strolled down Boulevard de Sébastopol. While it wasn't unusual for the bob-haired blunette to not have such a peppy disposition, the storm clouds fogged her mind even more than usual today because of what occasion today signified, namely Mother's Day. Usually, it was a joyous occasion, but Kagami was hardly a usual person, even without the Germanic regimen imposed upon her by her mother Tomoe. As she strolled down the sidewalk, hanging her head as she kept her hands in her pockets, all she could think about was how unlucky she was to have a Grade A bitch for a mother while other people got the kind of kind, caring mothers that were commonly taken for granted. Hell, the Japanese blunette considered getting out of the house to be the luckiest thing that happened on this crappy day.
"Hey Kagami!"
Kagami came to a gradual halt and lifted her head as she turned around to see who'd addressed her: none other than Adrien Agreste, her classmate/boyfriend. She sighed.
"Hi, Adrien."
Adrien frowned. "Kagami, you don't look too good. Are you sad because of why I think you're sad?"
Kagami nodded weakly. "If you think I'm sad because today is Mother's Day and I have to give a gift to that ungrateful vampire of a woman who's supposed to be my mother, then yes, I am."
Adrien put a hand over his heart. "I'm sorry to hear that. I never liked this day either, mainly because I don't really have a mom to celebrate it with, so I kinda consider you lucky in that sense."
Kagami crossed her arms and furrowed her brow. "I'll be lucky when I make a clean slice through her neck with a katana and collect her goddamn head."
Adrien gently backed away and made a gentle pushing motion towards Kagami. "OK, OK, sorry for hitting a bad nerve!"
Kagami loosened her stance and sighed. "No, I should be sorry for taking out my anger on you."
Adrien gently approached Kagami and smiled. "Listen, Kagami…I don't know exactly how you feel, but however you're feeling, it's OK to feel that way! You're not a bad person just because you can't live up to your mother's exacting standards! Nobody is totally defined by their parents! I don't know what it'll take to cheer you up, but I'll do whatever I can to help you out today because your feelings matter to me!"
Kagami put her hand up to her mouth. "Adrien…that…that was so sweet of you to say!" She smiled. "Oh Adrien…thank you so much!"
Kagami gave Adrien a big hug, which he gladly returned. Having been denied physical and emotional affection from Tomoe for so long, it meant so much to Kagami that one of her friends would come along, take a day that she loathed and make it feel special. Sure, Adrien had a knack for making her feel happy, but it was moments like these where she truly valued his companionship. As she held on to him, she let go of the anger and hatred she held for Tomoe and instead thought of how wonderful it was that a person like him existed in this or any other universe. While he wasn't the first guy she'd ever wanted, she'd never wanted anybody more than him. His warmth, his scent, the way he held on tight to her…she craved him.
Adrien considered himself equally – if not more – fortunate to have Kagami. Sure, he once pined for Marinette Dupain-Cheng, but it was when he found this nice Japanese blunette that he realized how empty he'd felt in pursuing his pigtailed friend. While Kagami wasn't the most voluptuous girl ever, she was still soft, warm and cuddly in her own way, and her situation parallelled the harsh, uncaring treatment he got at the hands of his father Gabriel. If there ever was a girl meant for him, it was her. He too had been deprived of affection, and knowing that she cared enough about him to engage in such an act with him meant more to him than any word in any language could ever hope to convey. Eventually, Kagami let go, but not without a smile on her face nor some kind words:
"That meant a lot to me. I don't ever want to get married, but I…I could never imagine spending my life with another boy."
Adrien chuckled. "You're welcome! We don't have to get married right now, but if you ever change your mind at any point, I'd gladly spend the rest of my life with you!"
Kagami smiled. "Thank you again, Adrien."
"Once again, you're always welcome! Now, why don't we grab a bite to eat? I know this neat Korean restaurant near Marinette's bakery!"
"Sounds delightful."
Adrien and Kagami held hands as they headed for the restaurant. Even if Tomoe still lorded over Kagami, at least the blunette still had her handsome blond boy to give her the love she truly needed.
Criticism is gold. Negativity and nitpicking are pyrite.
