I gripped the bars surrounding me, watching as the doors closed, preventing us from seeing the impact Dad and Morro took. I felt my hands tighten around the bars, my breathing hitched as I started to process everything through the fog of panic. We just got- who? What!? Wh- I shot back as what seemed to be a ship started to move quickly, yelping as I hit my head on the back of the cage. My vision blurred as I slowly tried to sit up, the reddish color of the room faded in and out. I could hear a voice but it was muffled.

The darkness faded, well, a bit of it. I took a couple breaths, noting the air was stale and the slight pounding in my head. After a few moments, I could feel the cold stone floor I had been laying on. I sat up quickly, wincing as the chains around my ankles twisted. I heard chains move besides me as I looked around the room. A dim light lit up the area of stone around me, a large metal door sealing the way in and out. After I took note of my surroundings I looked to the side the sound came from. Mom was sitting up, rubbing the back of her head, her eyes closed tightly as if trying to black out the pain. I took a shaky breath as I spoke up to let her know of my presence. "Mom?" Her eyes snapped open and she released the back of her head as she looked in my direction. She paused for a moment, her eyes looking me up and down before crawling closer to me. "Thank the first spinjitzu master your alright, are you hurt anywhere?!" I gave her a slight nod. "My head is pounding and I'm a bit dizzy but besides that I'm fine." She seemed to frown and glance at the back of my head. "Dear, you're slurring a little bit. It's possible you might have a concussion after the fall you had." I paused, frowning. "I didn't even notice I was slurring a bit. I'll be fine though, I'm used to concussions." I mumbled. "I'm sure you are but are you used to dealing with them while in captivity?" She asked, I gave her a small laugh. "No, but I'm used to them on the battlefield, if I can manage to fight through a war against Chen with one, I don't think it will be too much more difficult to deal with this with one." Mom leaned against the wall, putting her head in her hands. "The more you say, the more concerned I get." I gave her a small laugh, "well I could say the same for you mom, as the one here who has been in captivity before." I heard her huff beside me. "I suppose you're right." I took a deep breath, standing up and walking as close as I could to the door with the chains. "Any idea who our kidnappers may be? Or how we could get out of this place in general?" I looked through the bars on the metal door, only seeing another metal door across from us. Great, this is a full on prison. I thought, listening closer, trying to see if I heard anyone. "Well, not really, not yet. I just woke up like you did." Mom responded, getting up as well. I motioned for her to stop moving, she paused, looking at me confused as I focused my hearing. What the- i quickly spun around to face her. "I thought we were the only ones that got caught?" I whispered. She seemed to think for a moment. "We definitely were." I listened again, hearing the chains in other cells move and voices continue talking, some I could recognize. "There are others here." I stated, certain of what I could hear. Mom seemed alarmed and quickly joined me, listening for herself. I watched as her eyes widened and she whispered to me "who else did they catch?" I opened my mouth to respond when I heard heavy footsteps approach our cell. Mom quickly pulled me back to a corner and shoved me behind her. I opened my mouth to object but was interrupted by keys fiddling in our door. The door slowly creaked open, a tall man with black hair and pale skin stepped into the room with four people in masks behind him. His grin grew increasingly wider the moment he noticed we were awake. "Finally, you're awake. I've been waiting to get started." He looked at mom, before his eyes trailing behind her. Mom stepped to the side to obscure his view of me. "I don't know who you are or why you're doing this but I won't allow you to touch my child!" The man's eyes thinned before he gave a soft chuckle. "Such spirit, I like it. Unfortunately for you it won't stop the inevitable. After all Thoth said himself, "If one's heart does not balance with the feather of truth, then thy soul is guilty." I reached for my mom's shoulder, yanking her back a bit. "What?" She sputtered out before the man snapped his fingers, the other four men approaching us.

I woke up to the sound of screaming, immediately connected the voice to a face in my head and tried to sit up, but I couldn't. I glanced around the room, looking down at my feet, noting the table I was strapped to with vengstone cuffs and bars. The room I was in was very white, clean, almost unnervingly clean and was laced with machines, computers, saringes, viles full of stuff, and much more that I didn't even know what it was. I noticed another room attached to it, laced with vengstone, possibly a testing chamber of some sort. I took a deep breath. I don't like this one bit. I mumbled to myself as I tried to break out of the bars, but they were too tight. I heard doors open behind me and footsteps approach. "I see you're awake." The man appeared in my vision once again. "What did you do with my mom!? Where am I? Where is she?!" Questions shot out of my mouth quickly before my brain even processed. The man just looked at me, almost amused. "Your mother is in another room, but I assure you, she's not going to get any less of the treatment that you are. After all, here we believe everyone should be on a fair playing field. Just like Thoth wanted it." He walked over to a desk, grabbing gloves and goggles. "But I would be more worried about yourself right now, after all, today's your first day of procedures, don't want you to be too stressed now." I froze, procedures!?

He spun around with this small machine, this purple colored liquid shooting through it in a repeated motion. He hummed a small tone as he approached me. "His smile fair as spring, as towards him he draws you." He seemed to be mumbling to himself, yet that didn't make it any less creepy. "His tongue sharp and silvery as he implores you." He grabbed my wrist tight, bending it a bit before lowering the gun-thing. I yanked my wrist the best I could only for him to grip it tighter and yank back on it till it hurt as he continued "your wishes he grants as he swears to adore you." He looked up at me, I searched his eyes for any kind of sympathy but couldn't find any. He put down the gun, grabbed some pads and started to rub my wrist exceedingly until it burned, my breath hitched. "Gold, silver, jewels- he lays riches before you." He tossed them behind him, grabbing the gun again, grabbing my face and forcing me to look at him, his eyes almost glowing. "Dues need be repaid and he will come for you." He continued before letting go of my face and lowering the gun to my wrist. "All to reclaim, no smile to console you." He turned it on and I almost screamed but held my breath, it felt like someone was dragging knives all over my body, I saw stars and closed my eyes tightly in an attempt to block it out. "He'll snare you in bonds, eyes glowing' a fire"

The pain got worse, I yelped as tears started to form in my eyes, I tried to shake it off. I can't show him he's getting to me. "To gore and torment you, till the stars expire." It suddenly felt as if someone was electrocuting me and I couldn't help but scream as my entire body seemed to tense. The stars that filled my vision sputtered out and I was in the dark abis again.
