The Secret of Flambeau

A ColdHiddenBlade Oneshot

I have played PGR for years, before I even played Genshin Impact, but haven't written much for it. Been a simp for Roland since day one, so I am proud I now get to play as him. His story is just ripe for things, the beginning is based on true lines from the game. I hope Wuthering Waves has similar, flirty vibes with their characters. PGR is so full of inspiration.

The corrupted prison was cold. At least that is what Roland assumed… he no longer felt the cold, at least on an annoyance level. He could tolerate it…

However, he had a feeling that the unlucky little fellow that was stuck in this place with him was feeling the chill. Roland had a slight buzz in that back of his neck during their communication through the old comms device and PDA, there was something familiar about the other person even though they only spoke through typed letters.

They piqued his interest at first when they deciphered his melody code faster than typical code-hackers on Babylonia, he even used a theme song from a Golden Age movie… it was a joke, in hopes that the calm and collected mystery actor would fall into a pit of despair. He was surprised. He never thought he would be the one left in confusion…

Most people would not even recognise it. Fort/da, it wasn't considered a good movie in his time and was only enjoyed by hardcore fans of the actors or collectors of that certain genre. His fellow inmate was a movie fan. Which meant they may recognise his voice… the only people who could get access to movies, the ability to play them, and also be in an area like this were those from Babylonia. A human soldier or construct?

Who was this second actor in the play Roland was slowly weaving around them? They were smarter than the average person, and showed no fear from being outnumbered by hoards of corrupted mechanoids, they even showed concern for Roland's wellbeing. Determined to come to his aid with all possible contingencies, despite the risk of a trap. This was not a Scavenger… it had to be a veteran.

Now, who on Babylonia met ALL the right points? There was only one person and Roland felt the rush of excitement in his stomach as he stayed one step ahead of the other invisible actor while using his skill with improv to keep the veil between them. He had been in the Commandant's presence many times, but never alone without his little posse of overprotective frames. This left him buzzing… he hoped it was who he suspected.

Would this show end in the usual disappointment? He had been wrong already with his assumptions… maybe tonight will end in something glorious for once. Roland was use to disappointment, but he couldn't help the curl of anticipation in his core.

Even if things end roughly, he had enjoyed his time up until now. From the DJ distraction, to the fleeting messages the two shared. Now… the request to meet in the cafeteria before escaping.

"Well, this is sure a first, someone who goes looking for trouble." Roland stared at his PDA while hiding his smile behind his forefinger, reading the plan the human had already worked out for a second time. How astute. "You are attracting my full attention, little Amigo."

He sent his replies, trying to make it seem like he was weak. A hindrance. But the other person seemed determined to escape along with Roland, and it was refreshing…

'Maybe next time use a popular song.'

'Maybe it's best that there's no next time.' Roland gave a wry smile as he replied.

'I am curious as to why you chose to send that.'

Roland chuckled as he ducked behind a wall so a mechanoid walked past him without disturbing him, 'Because the only Morse code I know is 'SOS" It was a blatant lie.

'Really?' Roland almost sensed the sarcasm dripping from that single word, 'I don't believe you.'

'^.^' Roland smiled as he sent the emoticon and hesitated before sending his next message, 'Maybe we can meet up. About the movie, among other things.'

'Of course, it's a date. ^.^'

… Roland stared at the reply, face a void, hiding his true feelings that bubbled over. Up until now he had been playing a character, but inside his chest he could feel real emotions leaking out. His request to talk about movies was honest, and the way the suspected Commandant replied had a turmoil of emotions filling his body. He quelled them within a fist.

Even though he smothered the feelings, as he reread the Commandant's message, he felt his heart leap in familiar anticipation. A date? He knew it wasn't going to lead to one, but he really wished something would come of it…

The first time he met the masked Commandant, the young man was holding nothing by a small knife and determination on his first day on duty, and it left a sizable mark on Roland. He had been fascinated that a weak unassuming human with no active experience would stand against him with little protection, just to keep their humanoid weapons safe. To the Commandant, the constructs under his command were friends and family. If only Babylonia had more people like this.

"Ha… What am I even doing?"

He reaches the cafeteria ahead of his mystery friend, and hurried up to the second floor to get in position. Eyes on the only open door he assumed his escape buddy would come from… they should be arriving soon…

Tap tap tap. Footsteps, rushing down the hallway. Then a dark figure clad in protective gear rushed into the cafeteria, masked face searching the shadows for Roland.

Something clenched in his gut and Roland sunk lower behind the rail. He could recognise the man anytime, anywhere… Aiden… the name always left a bitter taste in his mouth.

So, his baseless speculations were facts. And now the Commandant was standing before him, and it had Roland's stomach twist… what was this feeling? Bitterness, anticipation, excitement? Those were the feelings he felt earlier, but this did not have the same taste. The confusion had him stepping back into the shadows.

Originally, he was going to step forward and reveal his true self with open arms and watch the human's eyes fall into desolation as they realise they were caught in a hive of corrupt with him. One of the worst people to be alone with… an Ascent…

His back hit the wall startling him out of his daze and he stayed there frozen as he listened to Aiden circling the room below him.

There was only one outcome now… and it was the same one ending he always got– Abandonment.

Left and right he was abandoned. Family, friends, the ones who experimented on him. Even his Ascent family were willing to leave him behind, if not for the Merciful One, he would only be a stain on history. A jester with no name…

Inside, the shadow of himself taunted him brutishly using the word 'friend' with the same fatal damage as a poisoned blade into his heart. His chest sunk further in a pit of his own self-pity; nothing goes the way he wanted.

"Of course… this is reality…" His smile was cold and lifeless, eyes growing deranged. His fingers twitched around the baton he stole earlier, the urge to take out Aiden was strong. Beat him over the head with one of the most basic weapons known to man. He was right there… weak to any form of attack. Standing where they promised to meet… waiting

No… he could wait a little longer. Observe until he was CERTAIN the other had lost all hope to save him.

And he waited, as did Aiden. The Commandant paced for a moment as the minutes passed and even at their distance, Roland could see the flicker of concern and thoughts passing Aiden's eyes… they were dark voices. Like black mirrors they reflected any emotions in the young human, making it easy for Roland to read. Typically, Aiden was able to hide his emotions… but he was not aware that Roland was watching him.

Finally, after glancing at the PDA again, Aiden rushed down the hallway and Roland sprinted to keep up. He could tell the man was tired, but he still kept moving with determination. Once more, Roland was proven wrong… the human was not leaving. Hope lifted in his chest.

"You never fail to impress me, Aiden… you make me want to see what face you make when you are betrayed." Roland chuckled as he slit his eyes down at the Commandant, "I want to see what expression you make when you realise the one you are trying to save is actually your enemy."

Roland licked his lips.

"Betrayed by your friend… then dying alone in this prison. What an ironic ending." He runs his eyes along Aiden's body, spying every sign of exhaustion. Was he going to collapse? It looked like he wanted to.

The PDA in his hand received more messages and he paused, the human was getting close to where the most Corrupted were. He will get surrounded if he keeps going. There was a sour taste in Roland's mouth, it numbed his tongue and settled heavy in his stomach as if he swallowed a lead weight.

"How troublesome…"

'That's enough.' He sent the message without pause, his shadowy self tittered with annoyance.

'Are you ok?' So kind… it made Roland sick.

'The thing you are searching for did not exist from the start.'

'Who are you?' Good… the Commandant was not stupid.

'I'm just someone passing by, resolving the problem for you.' Roland thought hard about that response, how can he persuade the Commandant to leave? "That person from before is your enemy, I'm just here saving you time.'

'Enemy?'

'That's right, the enemy. Don't worry, I've taken care of him for you.' This lie… it tasted disgusting.

'Forgive me for not trusting your one-sided statement.' Ah… the Commandant's tone was collected. But his words had Roland scoffing.

'Yet you trust a stranger you've never met before?'

'I trust my own judgement, and I will leave together with the one I'm trying to find.' Surprise… this disarmed Roland instantly.

'Why?' The question was sent before he could even stop himself. Even he didn't know what answer he wanted.

Seemed his question even bewildered Aiden. The reply took a while to come back.

'Because I said I wouldn't leave them behind.'

There was more sent, but that first sentence had Roland frozen in place. He read it once, then twice… then a third time for good measure just to confirm he wasn't seeing things. Astounded at the replies, he covered his eyes and laughed so hard his shoulders shook.

"As expected, Gray Raven Commandant…hehe ha!" His laughter permeated in the air; he couldn't stop even when his shadowy self tried to stab him with more heartbreaking words. He was deaf to them. "It would be a real shame to let you die here."

The alarms sounded and Roland snapped his hand off his eyes, the room he was in flashed red while a warning message sounded.

"Oh? Looks like the show has started." He pulled the gun out from the back of his harness and moved forward with a smirk on his face.

There Aiden was, the young man lifted his gun to shoot at the source of a red laser. Unaware to the mechanoid behind him… Roland shot. Two gunshots echoed through the room and Aiden spun around with gun raised at the mechanoid behind him… only for it to fall forward. Roland tensed, he was behind it… his pupils grew in size as he waited expectantly for the look of betrayal.

Tick tock… FLASH!

The room burst with an explosion and white light sending the two flying apart. Roland blinked it away while rising to his feet; his ears were met with the music of Aiden groaning in pain. Not only was he blinded, but his ears were damaged from the close-range explosion.

Roland crept close to examine… looked like Aiden couldn't even open his eyes from the pain, tears ran down his face into his lower mask while his hands gripped his ears. He watched as Aiden quickly navigated into a corner and sit on the ground. Trying to blindly do first aid… his arm was bleeding heavily into his glove from a fragment gash in his forearm.

He unclasps his buckle on his arm and tore off the glove leaving his arm bare. Muscles thick and tanned… Roland hovered for a moment. Impressed by Aiden's quick thinking and skill despite being blinded, and happy to witness it so close. Not at the usual distance as an enemy.

Then he pulled out a portable radar detector. The instant it turned on, it picked up on Roland and released a series of beeping. No chance to hide now… Aiden tried to open his eyes and look at the shadowy shape of Roland, without avail. He had to shut them again.

"Found you…" Roland smirked when the pistol was aimed in his direction. The Commandant had amazing intuition, "How pathetic. This is a rare sight indeed."

Roland mocked the Commandant, but received nothing but a frown as a response. There was pained confusion… followed by a frown of familiarity, did he recognise Roland's voice?

"Stay back!" The young man's voice trembled slightly, yet his hands held steady. Roland smirked as he stood over the smaller man.

"How rude, do your teammates know about this side of you?" He teased but paused when the Commandant gave no reply or reaction to his snip, "… So you can't hear me, come on. Let's get out of here first."

He effortlessly lifted Aiden up and led him towards the exit, and hopefully a secluded room where he could briefly examine the man's wounds.

"Who are you?" Was his hearing coming back?

"I'm your partner in prison break, did you forget about me already?"

Aiden was quiet for a bit, but his face showed he was listening really hard. Lucky Roland masked his voice.

"The corrupted are coming…" Roland sensed them coming as the alarms continued to sound off. He threw his gun aside as he lied about his weapon being damaged and smirked, this was going to be fun…

"How?" Aiden's voice was soft, with a slight croak.

"I will be your eyes, just aim and shoot." He wrapped his hand around Aiden's holding the gun and lifted it, he felt his body twitch. The heat from the human warmed him and he felt his eyes wobble. It was smaller than he expected, why did he think Aiden's hand would be bigger than his own? "Ready?"

The whole time as he spouted out direction, he supported Aiden's hand while adjusting angles as he shot. What a team they made. Roland felt his heart race as he pulled Aiden close against his chest… the human was so warm against him it was almost disorienting.

Sweat dripped down Aiden's brow. Clearly this was a new experience for him… but he seemed to trust Roland's guidance completely. It was heart-warming… he almost laughed.

The last mechanic fell with a thump and Roland slowly led Aiden into a side room, he could feel the tremble of the man's arm. He was probably in a lot of pain in this instance, "I didn't know you were such a sharp shooter even when blinded."

"I'm in the army." Roland scoffed.

"I know."

"Who are you?" Ah, this question again. "Your voice is familiar."

"… Oh my." Roland shut his mouth after that. So even when masking, the Commandant somehow recognised him? It couldn't just be his voice then… did he miss something?

"Either way… thank you."

The appreciation was not held back in the slightest and it caught Roland off guard, he let out a startled laugh. Such a fool… his chest sunk… maybe he was the fool?

"You could've left me there (true), but you didn't (also true)." Roland lowered his head and waited for Aiden to continue, "So… I think I can trust you."

No… Roland lifted Aiden's left hand and began to write into his palm… he did not trust his own voice.

You. Are. Welcome.

Hearing Aiden read it out loud was a little embarrassing and Roland examined the room. He tensed when Aiden wobbled on his feet… he needed to give the human first aid right now before he fainted. Roland led him over to the corner and lifted Aiden up on a slab of stone rubble as if he weighed nothing, his cold hands firm.

Only briefly he ran his hands down Aiden's body to find his pouches. Bandages, perfect! He cleaned Aiden's wound with an alcohol wipe then bound it tight enough to stop the bleeding. He cut off the excess with a very familiar knife in one of Aiden's holsters then wrapped the left over around Aiden's eyes.

One: To protect them from more damage.

Two: In case his vision returned.

Roland examined Aiden's body… his clothes were soaked with blood, sweat, and dirt. The smell of iron overwhelmed them to the point that it had even the Ascent breathing heavily, and Roland found himself reaching for Aiden's mask. He hesitated for a brief moment before hooking two fingers over the edge. Aiden tensed but did not make any move to stop him.

Wow… Roland bet Aiden had all the men and women grovelling at his feet. His jawline was defined with just enough stubble to really make it stand out more. His nose was tall, like he was a marble statue hand carved to represent a god. He licked his lips and felt a tremble in his core… this human did so much for him.

They didn't abandon him either.

Roland lifted Aiden's hand again and wrote his next words, wisely chosen.

As. Thanks. Let. Me. Reward. You.

"I don't need rewards." Aiden countered instantly making Roland roll his eyes. Ever the saint… he gripped Aiden's head between his two hands making the man tense then leaned in. His breath on Aiden's face was followed the with the wake of his lips.

There was no shove away or angry words of disgust, like Roland expected… just a surprised gasp. Slowly Roland let his eyes lids shut and tilted his head slightly, parting his own lips so he could persuade Aiden to copy. There! Roland deepened the kiss when Aiden's mouth moved in tandem with his, tongue ran between their lips, teasing.

The kiss got deeper; Roland was lost in it as his stomach fluttered. Aiden had such a distinct flavour and he wanted more. His fingers trembled around Aiden's head… then a pair of hands gently rested either side of Roland's cheeks, the touch was soft… so barely there that Roland's false skin almost didn't pick it up. A tongue timorously met his and that was all he needed…

Aiden gasped as Roland deepened the kiss further, surging his body forward so their chest pressed firmly together and rolled his hips forward. Roland could already feel his length sliding from its protective casings without any coercing from him to press against the inside of his tight trousers. He didn't even think it was going to work still… his experience was limited. Even though he was a popular actor, he was sheltered on set by those that lied for years before the Punishing Virus reached them.

Him and Mandasti had a brief encounter, but Roland had to be the responsible one and end it before it went too far. That was before one of his many brain wipes… before Roland realised, he was the fool the entire time. Surrounded by illusions.

Slowly he rolled his hips, clearly his corrupted body knew what needed to be done… and he had a vague idea on what was expected of him. Maybe he could improvise… that was his speciality…

A pair of hands ran down his chest, hitting every buckle with a wince before reaching his abs. Roland groaned as he felt the touch through his tight fitted shirt, since Aiden's palms were so hot, and he also moved his hands. He was not going to be shown up… his hands tugged Aiden closer, a hand to one ass-cheek each and pulled forward in slow motions so that Aiden was griding against him. The human groaned low in his chest and panted through the kiss.

Are you really going ahead with this? The shadow of himself spoke with disgust, making him flinch. His mismatched eyes slit in the direction of the illusion and he snarled back. "Yes…"

"Hm?" Aiden moaned in confusion as he felt the word fill his mouth, but Roland distracted him but swirling his tongue against Aiden's. "Mmm!"

He was doing this, yes. He refused to stop.

Aiden was here against him… ready and willing. How many chances was Roland going to get in the future, he wanted to know how Aiden looked. Fucked up on his fake cock.

The idea was so appealing, he couldn't wait. Roland pushed Aiden backwards with his body weight so that the young man was laying on his back completely, he unlatched their belts and groaned into the frantic kiss as their lengths rubbed against each other and a pair of legs wrapped around his waist. He enveloped a fist around their joined shafts and pumped slowly, swallowing every sound from Aiden's mouth while observing each response of his body. Making sure he was doing things right. While not letting his inexperience known.

His old coat fell from where he had it tied around his waist with the sleeves, and he did not care. His mind, his core, and every sense of being was completely taken over. Roland should have done this earlier…

"Shit…" He growled deeply as he broke the kiss, his eyes savagely glowed in the darkness as he watched Aiden's face fall apart to bliss as he masturbated them both in one hand. The man's tanned cheeks seemed to darken with rushing blood, his head was probably spinning right now. "I'm going to FUCK you senseless."

To hell with romance and tact. This was not an act or a pre-planned scene to be played out by two actors, this was raw and un-cut sex between people.

He unravelled Aiden's legs around him and lifted them over one shoulder, he held them with one hand while bending his knees so he could align himself with the other. He felt the man tense, "Are you going to… Agh!"

His pained voice echoed off the walls as Roland thrust inside until groin brushed with ass… his walls were forced wide to accommodate Roland's careless intrusion. A laugh filled Aiden's ringing ears; Roland smirked as he stared down at the young man. Eyes wide with maniac glee as he witnessed the disappearing act of his own manhood, his eyes then rolled as he felt the tightness quiver around him. Thrust! He was relentless, eyes never moving from where they were joined as he fucked Aiden.

"Ah! Slow down…" Aiden almost sobbed, tears running down his cheeks. But while his words were full of dissent, everything else gave away his true desires. He wanted more… and Roland was willing to give him everything he wanted. Reward him in any way possible.

Pant, pant, groan! Roland's voice bounced off the walls as he fucked into Aiden, his teeth bared in a grin as he watched every spasm, and flashed wider briefly whenever Aiden's manhood twitched. "You are so hard, friend." He kept his voice low, still trying to mask it. "Do you want to cum?"

"Yes!" Aiden moaned without hesitation and it almost blew Roland's mind.

"So much trust… who is the foolish one I wonder." Roland chuckled, his cheeks hurt from smiling so wide but he couldn't help it. He had Aiden writhing beneath him, pinned to his cock as if he had no other purpose. "Do I still have your trust, even when I take your body like a whore?"

"Ah! Hang on… I'm…" Aiden couldn't speak full sentences; each word was broken with a breathless gasp and wobble. "Please… touch… ngh."

"Touch you?" Roland finished for the breathless man with a laugh, he pressed down on Aiden's length with the heel of his hand so that Aiden's weeping tip touched the skin near his bellybutton. It was red, angry, and so close to bursting. He pressed down with his thumb and watched as cum exploded around it as his manhood hit Aiden's prostate. It leaked around his fingers and pooled in Aiden's navel. "Haha! I barely even touched you, and you came to this?"

He finally closed his hand around the softened length and pumped it in pace to his hips, savage. The overstimulation had Aiden arching from the rubble as if he was possessed, and legs trembling over Roland's shoulder. His fingers grasped a hold of the straps near Roland's abs and tugged as if trying to pull them closer. The skin of the human's ass and thighs were red raw from where Roland slapped against him, and he was not going to slow down his pace.

Grinding his smirking teeth, Roland traced his eyes over every single particle of Aiden. Memorising every pant, twitch, and ripple of taunt muscle. His ears were deafened with moans and cries, he was probably going to hear it like a phantom wail in the future, tempting him to hunt the human down for more than the typical fight to the death. He had a taste… now he wanted the full meal to himself.

Soft and hot. Aiden's body welcomed his thrusts with each stroke against his prostate, it was easy for Roland to move. So, that meant… "You fuck men often?"

"I…!" Aiden's face flushed and he turned his head out of embarrassment, that was enough of an answer. So… his body has been tainted with another man before, it made Roland's chest tighten with an unfamiliar emotion. Was it sadness… anger? No, he had felt that before. This was something else…

Something that made him want to steal Aiden away as his own… wouldn't that be fun. Watch Babylonia lose their minds and all hope as their number one Commandant vanishes without a trace, their beacon of hope. He would tease the Gray Ravens at every chance, knowing he was fucking their adored human every night.

"Ah!" Aiden's loud moan snapped him from his delicious daydream, the human came again. Roland scoffed proudly, he wasn't even paying attention and he could make the human cum a second time. He opened his hand to watch the cum pool into his palm. Some of it dripped down his wrist and managed to seep into the metal joint in his elbow. That was going to need a good scrub so it wouldn't cause delay in movement. He flicked the cum away, splashing it onto the dusty floor.

"Are you spent?" Roland wrapped his arm around Aiden's thighs and held the squirming human still, they were trying to escape from his thrusts, getting too overstimulated that it was starting to get uncomfortable. "Don't run away from me. Your body is mine."

"Please! I can't anymore!"

"Ha, so selfish as well." Roland chuckled, "I thought you were a generous soul."

"I… god, please…!" Aiden arched, his nails ran down Roland's stomach catching on his buckles and shirt.

"How can I deny you, when you ask so nicely." Roland sighed, before leaning forward. Aiden grunted in discomfort as he was folded up before moaning as Roland devoured his mouth again, he kissed back with unabashed desperation. His tongue meeting Roland's first and curling. It made the Ascent moan.

Slap slap, thrust, grunt! Snarl! Moan, slap slap.

Squirt!

Roland felt the fluid rush from his body in thick bursts. He almost emptied himself into Aiden out of excitement and he hissed into the kiss as he slowed his hips. Slick dripped out and ran down his thighs like a small waterfall, how embarrassing. Roland separated from the kiss so he could roll his face into Aiden's shoulder, where he breathed in the human's sweaty stench. The scent of sex and blood filled his iron lungs.

Reluctantly he pulled out and angled Aiden 's hips so his fluids fell out in thick globs, kicking his old jacket back so it would not get ruined more than it already was and waited for the flow to slow down. He watched Aiden's hole pucker and twitch with each drop before letting the human relax his legs. They flopped uselessly and Roland chuckled.

Vonnegut would be rapt with this sight. His fascination for Aiden was only matched by Roland's own… already he had their next conversation lined up… to either build on his interest until it became an obsession, or cause a burn of jealousy in the other, 'The Commandant is as delectable as he appears' would be the pièce de résistance. The crowning punctuation.

Without another word, Roland pulled Aiden's trousers back up and carried him over to a safe corner. He walked over to his coat while straightening his own, he kicked it up and paused as he stared at it. This was part of his old body, before the Merciful One repaired him. And it was obviously his…

Roland smirked, he knelt beside the dozy Commandant and gave him a subtle kiss while throwing his coat over Aiden's shoulders. The human moaned into the kiss sleepily, before Roland began to write into his hand again. Smirking when he saw the look of annoyance on the human's face.

Until. Next. Time.

As he walked down the halls laughing, the sound of vehicles pulling up outside signalled that back up had arrived.

ROLAAAAND! 3!
