The first thing Mr. Holt Hyde had done upon being revealed to the entirety of Monster High was pummel Headmistress Bloodgood's car with Draculauras pink frilly umbrella.

Bloodgood sighed, checking her watch and rolling her eyes upon realising it was barely noon.

Two centuries of caring for the weird and wonderful had left Bloodgood strangely immune to even the strangest of actions, and she thought back to similar instances. A young Clawdeen Wolf, barely old enough to speak in words instead of growls, biting a sizeable chunk of her leg. An old enough to know better yet still young Heath Burns, setting fire to her office on more than one occasion. And an ever so sassy Cleo DeNile, stomping her foot in defiance after cursing another student and not regretting it one bit.

At least she'd been vaguely informed of the 'other' boys' existence.

"Jackson will be a welcome addition to Monster High, Mrs Jekyll."

"That's a relief."

"Though I respect your decision, we do have a night school in place for the," Bloodgood remained ever composed, " other young man."

"Holt is a bit of a handful, I want to keep him and Jackson separate for as long as I can."

"Are you sure that's the best idea-"

"Yes I'm sure!"

And that had been fine until the young man's trigger had changed from the evening hours to the sound of music. There were no rules about playing music on school grounds.

Holt swung the umbrella hard into Bloodgood's windshield.

There were going to be rules about music on the grounds.

Bloodgood inhaled sharply, "young man step away from my car this instant!"

Holt seemed to freeze up, suddenly taking on the crowd of shocked students with fiery red eyes. His hands were trembling as they gripped his makeshift weapon, an irrational, teenage anger all obvious and visible yet only Bloodgood could see. He'd just been let out, for the first time, surrounded by unusual faces and the bright light of the sun. Hyde reacted to fear with anger, and Bloodgood made sure to note that down for later.

"What are you staring at!" he screamed and the crowd collectively jumped.

"Why don't you come with me to my office and we can sort this out, hm?"

Hyde took her in, for a moment, no doubt noting her calm eyes and ever controlled temper. Noting the way she didn't seem upset and how her soft voice was as far away from screaming as it could possibly get.

His shaking died down, and he dropped the umbrella.

Thin fingers left burn marks on the arms of his chair before he noticed, quickly extinguishing his burning hands before shoving them in his lap, all nerves.

"You have a good control of your powers, for your age."

Holt twitched in confusion at the compliment before grinning.

Ms Jekyll sat next to him at Bloodgood's desk, all apologetic and nervous. She had offered to pay for the damage several times now; it got on Bloodgood's nerves.

"With all due respect, Ms Jekyll, I want to talk about Holt , he's what's important here."

The fire elemental seemed shocked and delighted at the attention. Bloodgood smiled at him.

"I can see you like music? I'm sure Operetta would be pleased to meet you. Heath could use your help controlling his abilities. We have arts and sports and sciences and could give you the best education you could get," Bloodgood paused, realising she was getting ahead of herself," what I'm saying, dear, is that Monster High has a place for you, if you want it."

Holt nodded rapidly and his place was set. The idea of someone understanding his needs is too great and scary and exciting.

There were no more car smashing incidents after that.
